Chapter 13: Dave vs. Ted

With eyes on his target, Ted stood. Gazing into the seemingly dead eyes of his opponent. Black blood dripping out of the mouth of Dave as he watched his opponent start circling and then stop. Quiet. Silent. Heartbeat was the only thing Ted heard. Blade in hand, Ted then started charging at his opponent. Gaining speed with every step. Ted picked up his blade and slashed at him, but was then immediately blocked by Dave's white blade. They both then pushed off from each other. When Ted touched the ground, he started darting at Dave. Dave then did the same. When they met, their blades clashed. Ted then pulled back his blade to slash at him again but it was met with another block from his opponent. Ted then tried again and again, but they were still met with blocks from the wind blade. He then tried again, and met with the same result.

"I can do this. I need more ground," Ted thought to himself. Once their transparent swords clashed for the tenth time, Ted then backed up. Dave then slashed at him as he jumped backwards. Ted only dodged his attempt at slashing at him. When Ted was far enough back he stood and looked at his opponent.

"You are quite strong for a spirit...but then again you are not a normal everyday spirit, are ya?," Ted said with a smirk. Dave then stood ready to fight.

"You can't drive me out of this body. He is mine and you can't have him back. I will reach my final form," Dave said.

"Well, we will prevent that from happening. You won't get the chance, trust me."

"We? Maybe you're blind or something but those brats can't stand up to me."

Owen and Trent stood in awe as Dave pointed directly at them.

"Who said I was talking about those boys?," Ted said with a smirk. As soon as Ted was finished with that statement, Dave felt something fly past his legs and before he knew it, he was thrown to the ground once more. He hit the ground harder than before. It seemed like his skull was about to break open. He felt like he couldn't get up. Dave let go of his blade and watched it disappear. He tried getting up, but it was no use. He was laying on his back and tried rolling to his stomach, but even then, then his only arm felt weak and could no longer support his weight. So, face-planted on the ground was Dave. The ringing in his ears wouldn't stop. He couldn't hear and he couldn't see. Was he defeated?

He turned back over to see three men standing over him. Ted and two others with their hoods up. Dave tried getting up once more, but still no use. Then, in a flash, as he lay down his head, the world instantly went black. Ringing. Nothingness.

Silence...
