Chapter 30: A sad goodbye

"She may see you now," one of the nurses said gesturing to Owen. Owen nodded and went with the nurse. Followed her down the hall until he got to Emily's room.

"Here we are," the nurse said. "Dont worry, she is just fine. She will be fully recovered in a couple days."

"Thank you...," Owen said to the nurse. The nurse just smiled and left him alone with his thoughts. He gazed at the door not knowing what awaited him when he opened it. He moved slowly toward it and grasped the handle. Alot of things were running through his mind. What would she do? What will she say? Would she want me to leave? Does she hate me? He opened the door and found her sitting by the window. She was just gazing out to the street below. Owen then spoke, "...um...hi."

Emily came up from her chair and turned to face him. She ran to him and hugged him really tightly. She was sobbing as she squeezed him. Each tear that left her face dropped to his shirt.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Im so sorry... I heard everything and it's all my fault," Emily said crying.

"No...no...its not your fault...I couldnt do anything...I was just weak...," Owen said.

She then let go of him and stepped back.

"No...it was my fault...he is my dad so...," Emily said.

"No!...you shouldn't be responsible...its what your dad did...," Owen said.

"...they all think you threatened me...,"

"I know..."

"Are you going to be okay?...I heard what happened to your mother..."

"Yeah...I dont know who I'm going to live with..."

"How about Mikka...she seems like she would take good care of you..."

"Maybe...I heard that you are going to East city..."

"Yeah...My stupid aunt wants me to go there!...she is the only one close to my dad...,"

"You dont want to go?,"

"Of course not...I like bay city...,"

"Well it seems that you dont have a choice though...,"

"I know...I know we just met but...I am going to miss you...I wish we could have hung out more...,"

"Me too...,"

Emily then walked up to Owen and hugged him.

"When I am older...I will come back to see you...I promise...," Emily said.

Owen then smiled and hugged her back.
