"Now, You should all come up with your own nicknames for your teams. I have a stack of new missions on my desk. Give me your name and then you will receive a mission. You may start this mission when when you first receive it, but remember that your mission will be postponed until the next school day at 4:00 PM, this evening," Professor Cole explained to his class.
Trent just sat there dumbfounded at the instruction that his Professor gave.
"Damn!," Trent said. "The loser is not back yet and we have to choose a name. What the hell is taking him so long?!"
Ella just sat and angrily glared at Trent.
"What?," said Trent.
"What? What?! Are you seriously kidding me?! He went to the nurses office because you kicked the ever living crap out of him!," Ella stated angrily.
"Come on, that loser had what was coming to him. He drove everything away!"
"He was innocent and you knew! Oh my god, I feel so betrayed! Why am I stuck here with you?! Why am I stuck on this team!!"
"It was because of Emily, and I didn't need some weakling like you either!"
"Really? I am the weakling?! You are the one that got all butthurt about your girlfriend that moved away! What? Was that too much for you to handle?"
"Shut up! You are the one at fault too!"
"No I wasn't!? How dare you,"
"Yes you were. You were the one who called him a monster!,"
"I..."
"You...?"
"Oh! You are such an asshole!,"Ella said banging her fists on the desk. "Listen, I am not playing games with you!"
"But you were playing games with Owen?," Trent fired back.
"What are you talking about?"
"That loser hates you now, he talked about committing suicide. No matter what you do now, he will always know that you will now and forever take my side."
"That's not true!"
"Is it?," Trent asked.
Ella sat. Silent. The guilt was eating her alive on the inside. It taunted her and teased her. She did this, she thought. She can't get out of this and she can't let it go. The guilt was too much for her. She held in the tears from coming. The lump in her throat was too much. She knew that she messed up and Owen wont talk to her again. She put her head down in shame.
"That's what I thou-," Trent said getting interrupted by the noise of the door clicking and Owen walking through. The whole class seemed to stop to look at him, watching him enter as Cole approached him.
"Are you ok?," Cole whispered to him. Owen then nodded.
"So far they have been arguing...not really coming up with any names, I cannot fathom why your mother strung together these groups, but she did...," Cole whispered to Owen while gazing at his class. Cole then looked at Owen and said: "if you need anything at all, come to me. And remember, recall time is at 4"
"Got it," Owen said with a smile.
Owen then walked over to join his team.
"What took you, loser?!," Trent asked.
"Nurses office," Owen responded. "What are you my mom?"
"We need to come up with a stupid name, loser. Gimme something," Trent demanded.
"A name for the team?," Owen asked.
"Uh, yea! What else, loser!," Trent responded.
"Quit calling me loser!...loser," Owen said angrily.
"Nice one, loser. Keep that up and I will probably have to promote you to captain Feara," Trent said.
"Why am I on a team with you," Owen said grunting angrily.
"I dont know, why not ask your mother? Oh wait!," Trent said.
"Shut up, Trent!," Owen shouted.
"Make me, loser!," Trent shouted back.
"That is quite enough, Trent!," Cole shouted.
"Why do I have to be on this stupid team, Professor? Why did Mrs. Shores assign us these teams? Obviously she doesn't know us!," Trent shouted to Cole.
"I don't know why she did. She just did, and I trust her judgement. Besides...she wasn't the one that picked your group. She is related to Owen so she can't," Professor Cole said. "As much as I want to have you change teams, I can't, unfortunately. So you are stuck with the teams you have. So make it count."
"Then who chose our team...?," Trent inquired.
"Professor Thomas...," Cole said.
"T-thomas?," Trent asked. "So that guy that died was...master Thomas?"
"You know him?," Cole asked.
"Yeah...he was my father's sector leader, when he was running with the organizations. He would always give my dad missions," Trent said.
"Well, you wouldnt want to disrespect him by not getting along with your team. Now, dont you," Cole said.
Trent slowly sat back in his seat. Owen looked at Trent and gazed over at Ella. Ella first gazed at Owen and looked to the ground.
"...some hunters we are...I dont know how we will even do against spirits...,"Ella said under her breath.
Owen then thought for a second and slowly stood up.
"I...I have an idea of what we can name us, Professor," Owen said.
Cole looked at him.
"And what would that be?," Cole asked.
"How about...team Hunter?," Owen asked.
"Sure, how about the rest of the people on your team?," Cole asked.
Trent then stood up and sighed. He gazed at Owen and nodded.
"Hunter will do just fine," Trent said with a smile of relief.
Ella then stood up.
"Hunter? What? I was just...just," Ella looked around the room. Everyone was gazing at the loudest team in the room. Ella felt incredibly bashful as she spoke.
"I like it,"Ella said smiling. "I'm glad we can agree on something for a change"
