Seven-orifices Devil Heart

Ning Xiaochuan had been training for the entire night. His blood had cycled a total of two-hundred and forty times. The Combat Qi stored in his Combat Atrium had increased significantly and he would soon reach Stage Four.

His Cultivation speed was frighteningly fast.

As Ning Xiaochuan got out of bed, he planned to return the three books he had borrowed last night and continue hiding in the book chamber to read. This was an old habit from when he was still a doctor as he always felt that he did not have enough knowledge.

Now that he had arrived in this foreign world, he did not understand anything and had no knowledge of anything. Hence, he believed he was no different from an idiot. He had no choice but to read more books to understand the situation better.

It was early in the morning and the entire place was filled with mist.

Marquis Jiange's Residence was shrouded in whiteness. The walls were red, the roof tiles were green, and the upturned eaves could be seen in every building. The entire place felt exactly like a mystical residence that housed sages.

Ning Xiaochuan carried the three books with him as he walked down the green-stoned path. He slowly came to a stop when he passed by the central region of Marquis Jiange's Residence, where the arena was located.

There were four hundred plus youngsters practicing their swordsmanship in the arena. All of them were dressed in white robes. While some of them were only five to six years old, those who were already in their twenties could be seen as well.

Ning Xiner was one of them. She was in her white combat attire with a black belt surrounding her small waist. She had a three feet long Green Peak Sword in her hand. As she swung it, Sword Qi exploded out from the tip of the sword, causing an explosive 'boom' that reverberated in the air.

Her entire body was covered in Combat Qi and the shadow of the huge Red Furnace God levitated above her head. The Furnace God was the color of blood and looked incredibly majestic.

This was the result of her Divine Body reaching Stage One, which was also the first Divine Body she had cultivated - Furnace Sword's Blood Shadow.

Her Sword Qi covered a diameter of 109.3 feet with her as the epicenter. Her sword was like a blood dragon as her Sword Qi formed into a Tai Chi Chart. Those that were within 109.3 feet away from her would turn to dust, even if they were stones thrown by someone else.

The young disciples from Marquis Jiange's Residence placed themselves far away from her. They did not dare to get too close to her in fear that they would be injured by her Sword Qi.

"Sister Xiner is simply too talented. She's only fourteen and has already attained this Divine Body Realm. She's about to successfully cultivate the first type of Divine Sword Technique! She's so talented that I'm afraid that the younger generation of Marquis Jiange's Residence is no match for her."

"Even the strongest fourth generation disciple from Marquis Jiange's Residence, Ning Xiaojian only cultivated the Divine Martial Body at the age of 20."

Ning Han scoffed. "Unfortunately, her brother is trash. Two days ago, he was competing against Marquis Tianxiang's Residence's Wang Yunchong for a prostitute at Guanyu Tower. After he lost, he fainted out of anger and even needed one of the hostesses from the brothel to bring him back to the Marquis' Residence. This incident has spread to all major Marquis' Residence as a joke. He's humiliated the entire Marquis Jiange's Residence!"

"I heard that the girl from the brothel who brought him back is incredibly beautiful. She had even shed tears for him."

Ning Hang said, "No matter how beautiful she is, she's still just a lowly prostitute. Aren't trash and prostitutes meant to be together? It's unfortunate that Sicken Ning's body is so weak that I'm sure he wouldn't be able to do a thing, even if a beautiful lady was sleeping right in front of him. Haha!"

The crowd laughed.

Ning Han had naturally seen Ning Xiaochuan beside the arena. Hence, he decided to laugh louder as if he was afraid that Ning Xiaochuan could not hear him.

"Ning Han, I dare you to say another word," Ning Xiner threatened.

A bright light resembling a sword flew towards him, the tip of the sword already on Ning Han's throat.

Ning Han's talent was merely average and his Qi was only at Stage Five. It was only natural that he was no match for Ning Xiner. Hence, he quietly retreated before he turned his head around and glared at Ning Xiaochuan. He mocked, "He's just a p*ssy who only knows how to hide behind a woman's back."

"Brother, please ignore what they said earlier. They're just trying to trigger you. They're just a bunch of idiots who want to…" Ning Xiner was worried that her brother would rage to death again and was very anxious about it, so much so that tears were forming in her eyes. She was very tempted to cripple those people, including Ning Han.

Ning Xiaochuan carried the three books and smiled vaguely. "It's fine. Continue with your training. I'll be reading in the book chamber."

Ning Xiner stared at Ning Xiaochuan's back, feeling that her brother had changed. He would never have been this calm in the past!

Ning Xiaochuan and Ning Han were not close. Hence, it made sense that he was not affected by Ning Han's words and considered them bullsh*t. He did not even put them in his heart as he walked directly towards the book chamber so that he could continue reading.

Ning Han was angered by this. "Did that sick man just ignore me?"

"It's obvious that he's become arrogant since Xiner is protecting him. I'm sure he wouldn't dare to fight back if you slap him in the face when Xiner is not around." One of the disciples from the Ning Household laughed.

Ning Han smiled coldly. "He almost raged to death two days ago at Guanyu Tower and he hasn't said a word about it. That useless b*stard is an embarrassment to us Marquis Jiange's Residence just by being alive."

"I've heard that Guanyu Tower's prostitute, Yu Ningsheng, is incredibly beautiful and is skilled and knowledgeable. She's considered the most beautiful woman in the entire empire. Some have even ranked her among the top three most beautiful women as well. Is it true that Sicken Ning was competing against Wang Yunchong for her two nights ago?"

Ning Han gave a despicable gaze and scoffed. "While it's true that those prostitutes at the brothel were trash, Yu Ningsheng is different. She's a true outlier. She's so peerless that she seems to be from a fantasy palace, and her martial art is highly cultivated as well. No average joe can see her whenever they wish. That Sicken Ning isn't even qualified to meet her. That night, Sicken Ning and Wang Yunchong were merely fighting for a third-rate hostess from Guanyu Tower!"

Ning Han's killing intent was oozing out from his gaze as he recalled said third-rate hostess. She was one of those who knew of the true incident and also the one who carried the "fainted" Ning Xiaochuan back to Marquis Jiange's Residence. Since she had shed tears for Sicken Ning, it seemed like it would not be enough to just threaten her. He had to make sure that she would never open her mouth for the rest of her life.

Ning Han planned to pay a visit to Guanyu Tower after his morning training and settle this issue for good!

Inside the book chamber.

Ning Xiaochuan was sitting just below the bookshelf as he enjoyed reading the yellow paper records.

"So this mysterious heart of mine is the legendary Seven-orifices Devil Heart."

Ning Xiaochuan was incredibly curious about his weird heart, hence he had decided to search for any books that were related to the Combat Atrium inside the book chamber. Unexpectedly, he really did find one.

The book had briefly described the Seven-orifices Devil Heart in three sentences - The seven orifices, mainly the two atriums, two ventricles, one Combat Atrium, one heart orifice, and one blood orifice. The heart orifice represents the Divine and the blood orifice represents the Devil. Once the blood is filled with Qi, the Devil shall be born.

Ning Xiaochuan rubbed his chin as he muttered, "A normal martial artist only has two atriums, two ventricles, and one Combat Atrium. That means the additional two ventricles I have are the blood orifice and the heart orifice. The blood orifice represents the Devil and that blood-red shortsword is coincidentally located where the blood orifice is. Could it be that… That's the Devil Sword!"

Ning Xiaochuan shivered as he touched his heart. Then, he let out a long sigh. "I better not turn into a big Devil if I were to learn martial arts. It's best for me to look for some medical books!"

Ning Xiaochuan was still very sensitive about the word "Devil" so much so that it was a taboo to him. He was afraid of turning into a Devil that would kill people without feeling anything. Hence, he immediately recited the oath he made when he entered medical school and also decided to recite it three times a day.

He would reflect on himself three times per day.

"I'm willing to devote myself to medicine, abide by medical ethics, respect teachers and discipline, study hard, persevere, keep improving, and develop in an all-rounded way. I'll do everything in my power to eradicate all sickness against mankind, achieve perfect health for everyone, and maintain the sacred honor of the medical arts. I'll save the dead and the injured no matter how hard it is…"

Reciting the doctor's oath like a spell that calmed his heart, he continued to search for medical books in the book chamber.

"When an average person faces sickness or injury they seek out Martial Monk. Combat Qi is able to heal any sickness, injury and even disease. Oh my God! This world doesn't need doctors. Combat Qi is able to heal everything. Any Martial Monk could be an amazing doctor."

This was the conclusion he came to.

Ning Xiaochuan was rather disappointed as this world had no need for medical skills at all. All they had to do was to cultivate Combat Qi in their bodies and they could open a hospital in a town.

Not only could Combat Qi be used to kill someone, but it could also be used to heal others as well. It could increase intelligence and extend lifespan too. It was logical that a Martial Monk was quite high in the hierarchy!

"If an average person can seek out Martial Monk to heal themselves, then who do the Martial Monks turn to if they're injured?"

Ning Xiaochuan had discovered a rather interesting profession, something quite similar to a doctor and yet different. This profession focused solely on healing Martial Monks.

The Heart-nourishing Master!

What was most important to a Martial Monk?

Naturally, it was the heart and the blood vessels.

When a Martial Monk's heart and blood vessels were damaged, it was only natural that they could not channel their Combat Qi to heal themselves. Hence, they could only rely on a Heart-nourishing Master!

Furthermore, Heart-nourishing Masters were able to create Pills and Miracle Liquid as well. They could heal the monks and even heighten their Cultivation by expanding Combat Atrium and condensing blood vessels. A skilled Heart-nourishing Master could help commoners activate their Combat Atriums and even revive martial artists.

When a commoner was injured, they sought out a Martial Monk. Similarly, Martial Monks would seek out a Heart-nourishing Master if they were injured.

A Heart-nourishing Master's status was much higher than a Martial Monk's. Furthermore, they were rarer than them as well. Out of a thousand Martial Monks, it was possible none of them could become a Heart-nourishing Master.

Even if one was just a Junior Heart-nourishing Master, one would obtain great respect from martial artists.

The items sold by Heart-nourishing Masters were incredibly expensive. A drop of Heart-nourishing Liquid created by a Junior Heart-nourishing Master could be sold for eight thousand copper coins.

A hundred copper coins were equivalent to one silver coin.

A hundred silver coins were equivalent to one gold coin.

Eight thousand copper coins were more than enough to sustain a family of three for half a year.

One could say that every single Heart-nourishing Master was extremely wealthy. There were even skilled Heart-nourishing Masters that built their own forts. They were so rich that they could fight against other nations.

"Interesting, very interesting. If I can become a Heart-nourishing Master, I won't have to worry about being hungry when I leave Marquis Jiange's Residence. However, it seems like it's extremely difficult to become a Heart-nourishing Master. I have to nourish my heart first before I can nourish others. The first step alone requires a large number of elixirs to cultivate the Combat Atrium into the Heart-nourishing Cauldron. To make things worse, ninety-nine percent of the martial artists did not succeed in this."

"I have to burn a huge amount of money before I can start earning!"

Ning Xiaochuan was a very persistent man. He would not hesitate the instant he had decided to do something."

The morning practice had already ended by the time he returned to the arena. The other disciples from Marquis Jiange's Residence were already taking their rest. However, Ning Xiner was still practicing her swordsmanship.

"Xiner, please lend me thirty thousand copper coins," Ning Xiaochuan said.

"Thirty thousand copper coins?! Brother, why do you need so much money?" Ning Xiner put away her sword. Her slender body was like a crescent moon, her movement was so ridiculously fast that she moved like a shadow. In a blink of an eye, she was already standing in front of Ning Xiaochuan. Her eyes were blinking, filled with curiosity.
