'What........? She is joking right? The dream cant be real right?'

"What are you so surprised about?", she asked.

"So.... you are saying that....this world is a game?", I asked

"Technically, no. But only the people revived by people brought into the game know as, gamers, that were already in the game are in a mutually, simultaneously, existing world known often by others as The Game."

"Now I'm more confused.....", I replied helplessly.

"Hmmmm....",she thought for a moment and said ,"Well.... you could say by saving your life, I invited you to The Game, i.e. this world, and by saying the words 'Revive Me' , you accepted my invitation and entered this world."

"So I'm in another world?", I asked anxiously.

"Hmmm....I guess you and I are in between two different worlds.", she replied nonchalantly.

Looking at my helpless state she said again, "Don't worry......everything will be fine as long as you play by the rules."

"Huh? There are rules in this...Game?", I asked helplessly.

"Every video game has a set of rules. So this world also follows a set." ,then growing serious she continued," Now listen carefully, the reason I called you here is to explain these rules and the workings of this game."

She ushered me to sit on a the stone steps of the shrine and continued while standing in front of me, "First I'll start by telling you the workings of the game.

Since you haven't experienced game mode this is the most important function for you. You can only enter game mode if there is noone looking at you or observing you. This is because when you activate game mode , you can't be seen by anyone except gamers like you. Since vanishing in front of many people could cause confusion. Though you are invisible to other people you can still see them through the game mode.

Do you know about the status bar?"

"No."

"Well the status bar is like a game menu bar which can be visible to only the person who owns it. It displays your current strength, job, level, rank, etc. If you say 'Status' it will be visible to you."

"Like this? Status....", I asked unsure of what I'll see.

Sure enough a status bar like in the games came in front of me. It displayed my name, strength, stamina, energy, and skills.

Looking at me she said, "If you have any questions about the status you can ask me...."

I looked at the status bar closely and asked, "What is the difference between stamina and energy? I mean if I have stamina I have energy right?"

"In this world Energy refers to the mental energy of the body. Stamina refers to the physical energy. Energy can be used to cast skills during battles, and in other areas like healing."

"There is magic in this world?!!!?"

"Not exactly..."

'Why am I not exactly exact........'

"There are skills like glitching, hacking, etc; which cannot be called magic."

"Also what is this 'pros' thingy?"

"Pros refers to profession. It tells you what type of skills will be effective if that skill lies within the profession. What's yours?"

"Mine seems to be something called...", I stopped. Looked closely and said, "Bug?"

"Bug? Never heard of that."

"Does that mean I'm an insect? A pest?"

"Who knows? Maybe you are?"

"That hurt!"

"You will learn about the skill through experience so don't worry.

I'll talk about the rules now.

Rule 1. You will never tell to anyone that you are gamer or anything about this world.

Rule 2. You will not harm innocent people using the skills of the game.

And Rule 3. When called upon by higher ups, you must respond as quickly as possible.

She turned to leave.

"Wait I still have more questions!", I called out to her.

"Learn the answers yourself. I'm not here to baby sit you.", she replied coldly without turning back.

'What's up with her? Friendly for a while then cold suddenly?'

I looked up to the red sky while still sitting on the cold steps of the shrine.

'My life changed eh......'

I pondered on the thought for a while then got up to return home.

'Well, it was ever changing so I guess I'm used to it.'
