A Non-couple's Laundry Date

Alex merely shrugged and got off her bed. It couldn't be that bad. She went behind her bedroom door where she kept her laundry. Logan stayed hot on her heels and insisted on carrying the basket to the laundry room.

Alex let it go just to amuse him.

Then, she remembered that she had a sweater in her bag. She pressed her lips together, staring at Logan for a few seconds as he loaded the machine with her laundry. She should probably keep an eye on him.

Nevertheless, she ran up to her room, thinking she could just get back quickly. Nothing wrong could possibly happen if she left him for a while, right? What could he even find? Her underwear?

At that thought, she sped up her pace and calmed down the blush on her cheeks. Alex stepped inside the room, hearing a faint hum as the washing machine spun around filled with soap and water.

She noted the absence of whites and undergarments in the basket. Relief washed through her at the fact that Logan knew to separate clothes by their color.

Still, she proceeded with caution. The triumphant look on Logan's face seemed too good to be true.

"What… did you do?"  Alex felt very particular about her things. She liked handling all of them personally. Her clothes and her books held the top spots of the list—this made her more on edge at Logan's handiwork.

"You didn't believe I could do the laundry so I went ahead and used my mad skills" He told her proudly, pointing at the washing machine. Alex sneaked a peek. Everything seemed to be in order. The water looked as it should be.

"Huh…" She clicked her tongue and threw the sweater at the colored pile. Doing the laundry wasn't a hard thing to do. Even a guy like Logan could figure it out. It did help that he had the intelligence—although a number of evidence proved otherwise.

When Alex looked up, Logan still smiled at her. She was just being paranoid, she reasoned to herself, even Emily said she took things a little too far sometimes.

But then, the washing machine started to shake violently. Alex instantly checked it and a few bubbles began to pour out of the lid.

"Logan" she said, her eyes still on the machine. She prayed that the bubbles would stop multiplying, "Just how many scoops of powder did you use?"

"Oh! Right, well—" at the sound of that, Alex turned her attention towards him. That did not sound good.

Logan scratched the back of his head, "So, I know I had to do three scoops, right? But I lost count so I uh... took a guess. Don't worry, I only lost count once. It's not that bad."

At that point, the lid of the washing machine opened up and bubble water splashed everywhere. Logan finally realized his mistake, cursing under his breath. He tried to close the lid but it was too late. Water had flooded the room.

Alex looked for the plug, almost slipping.

She eventually found it and pulled it off the socket while Logan finally closed the lid—except the place already turned into a mess. All of Alex's other clothes had become wet. Bubble water had covered the entire floor. She even had bubbles in her hair. Her pants and her hoodie weighed heavily from being soaked. She took off the hoodie for a bit of a breather and tossed it to pile.

Logan, on the other hand, looked worse. His jeans were also soaked and so were his shoes. Most of the water from the washing machine hit his shirt. The material clung to his skin, defining his shape, as water dripped from his disheveled hair.

He blew out a whistle, "Check it out. It looks like a big bubble bath."

Alex rolled her eyes, already thinking of a solution, "Logan, this is not the time to—"

Logan ignored her and kicked the water. Bubbles flew to the air, slowly falling back to the floor. He scooped up some in his hands and blew them onto Alex's face.

Alex gasped, wiping it off her closed eyes. When she was sure there was no soap left, she opened them—only for Logan to splash some more water. That time, she quickly cleaned her eyelids and snatched a shirt from the pile, twisting it in her hands.

She immediately released it, aiming against Logan's torso.

"Ow!" he hissed in pain, rubbing the sore spot, "Not the abs! This doesn't happen overnight you know!"

"Well, then, let's see how strong they are!" Alex smirked, ready to strike again. Logan dodged the blow but that didn't stop her. She hit him again and again. He side stepped each time but he didn't dare come close to Alex. She managed to scarcely hit his shin but she felt more than satisfied.

As he avoided it, Logan lost his balance and fell to the floor. Alex clutched her stomach, doubling over in laughter. Revenge looked so sweet.

"Oh, I see. That's how you want to play, huh?" She heard him taunt. Alex had a split second to escape but Logan had caught her wrist before she could. He yanked her down to the floor. Alex let out a yelp.

She heard Logan's laugh echo around the room. He merely stuck his tongue out at her when she glared at him. Alex felt like a wet duck. Her damp shirt glued to her skin and her pants completely weighed her down, making it difficult to move.

Logan stayed oblivious to her discomfort. Alex took the chance and lunged at him. He landed on his back and used his hands to cover his face as Alex spattered water on him. He grabbed her wrist and rolled both of them over the floor.

Logan was heavy. The hard tiles hit Alex's back while his weight almost crushed her. It was unbearable. It didn't help that they were surrounded by soap water. She almost got hit in the eye twice.

"Are you done?" She panted, struggling to catch her breath and doing her best to push him off.

Logan eventually let her go and both of them sat up.

"Yeah" his raspy voice made Alex look at him. His hair stood up in different angles yet he didn't seem out of breath like she was. One of his hands brushed a loose hair strand away from her face, tucking it behind her ear.

Alex gulped. She could hear her heart beating loudly. She couldn't be the only one who could hear it. The thought of Logan noticing it made her  blush. She looked down and bit her lip.

Logan pulled down her bottom lip. Her eyes easily found his, his thumb lingering at the spot. She watched at his eyes dart a million directions and all of them aimed at her.

Alex couldn't bring herself to look away. She thought if she blinked, it would vanish and she didn't want to miss anything.

It was mesmerizing.
