Goose Chase

15 BBY: Tarkintown, Kijimi

"YOU HAD TO SAY IT,"

The Inquisitor got composed in a flash and ran into the transport. She climbed the ladder and made it into the transport's cannon. There she manned the cannon and focused the target on the ship. Pulling the trigger the cannon shot a blast towards the ship but with her disoriented state, the blast only hit the right engine of the ship.

"Warning, warning!" The ship cried out loud.

"We're losing altitude," Kai grunted as he struggled to maintain balance.

"Can you still head to the town?" Kema asked in a jolt of concern.

"Yes, but it won't be a safe landing!" he said.

She hopped off her seat and descended to the cargo hold beneath the lounge area. He checked the supply cargo and found it intact, then secured it to the floor of the hold.

"Cargo is secure, when's the land?" she spoke into the comms.

"In two minutes, the ship is blasting towards the town!" Kai said. "Sit tight!"

-

The Inquisitor leapt off the cannon and descended to the snowy ground where other stormtroopers arrived to aid her. "Captain Talle, we've arrived for help!"

"I don't need help, I need you to find me those Jedi!" she grunted with a tight fist. "Capture them alive, I need them!"

"But Captain our orders we're to k-" the trooper levitated mid-air and dropped the blaster to hold his closing neck.

"The orders are my own, I am the captain here," she snarled in anger. "I am the one to make orders here!" She let him go as he gasped for air, even removing his helmet to breathe. "Oh, I'm so sorry. That won't happen again!" She paused, thinking of what she had just done, but came back to her senses and proceeded.

"She's soft," a trooper whispered under his breath as they left for the town.

-

Kema and Kai sat in their fastened seats while the ship targeted the town for a crash landing. The ship began descending towards the town, but Kai used all his might to keep the ship balanced.

"Are we making it?" Kema shouted into her comms.

"We are down one engine Kema, are you serious?!" he grunted before the ship headed towards the town centre and crashed in the street's intersection.

The ship skidded on the soft ground while the two Jedi held onto themselves as best they could. The citizens of Tarkintown would pause on their normal days to witness the crash, as some would run to safety. As it stopped, Kai hopped out of his seat and left to the cargo hold to check on a disoriented Kema.

"Hey, get up!" He cut the strap out of her seat, "we gotta run!" He then helped her up as she came to her senses from the blinding fog of smoke that lingered within the ship.

Blasting the ramp door open, Kai let the smoke run free as the two carried the cargo towards a dark alley. They scoured the empty streets of the Tarkintown and found themselves a nice hiding spot.

"What are we going to do?" Kai caught his breath as Kema looked around, checking for anyone looking for the two.

"Well, we have a package to deliver," she answered. Kai gazed at the cargo and remembered the important.

"Then we have to find the man then," he uttered.

"I'll get you the time!" Kema spoke while she prepared to leave.

"What?! That's a Sith hunting us," he voiced but retracted to stay quiet. "That's too dangerous!"

"Nah. I have a feeling about this one?" her soft voice uttered as she attempted to remember what she felt at that fight. "The only thing that matters is the people they need to get their supplies!"

"If this sits right with you then fine," he sighed as he walked towards the street to get some answers, "be careful!"

"See you on the other side," she uttered.

"Bet!" he grinned.

-

The Inquisitor arrived in the town as her speeder hovered to its side, revealing the door where she stepped out in style. Her black outfit slightly glared at the mysterious moon while her robe danced accordingly to the wind, which slowly hummed. Bands of stormtroopers also arrived in their riders and reported straight to her. Lifting their blasters higher, they were ready.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have fugitives in this town!" she began as her unyielding finger pointed towards the basic town. "I want you to comb this place down, there is a Jedi involved, maybe two, no room for mistakes. Is that clear?!"

Right when she finished, she motioned to the stormtroopers as they stormed into civilian homes and empty alley's to search for the fugitives. They made their way to the city centre and found the crashed ship.

They closed in around the ship in flames, and the Inquisitor walked towards the ramp to observe it. Without a clue of anything that happened, she thrust her hand forward and back, making the ramp tear apart from its axel and fly towards her as she dodged it.

She gazed inside to only find a heavy, smoke-filled cargo hold. The troopers got ready to engage with their blasters pointed towards the hold. It was a nerve-wracking moment for the troopers, but the Inquisitor watched keenly, waiting for something to move.

After a tense moment, a can of ship fuel slid down from the hold and fell on the floor. The Inquisitor got a sense of this and using her robe she ducked and covered her body. The troopers watched in confusion as the fuel exploded into a large flame. She arose as in the clearing her eyes saw Kema standing far from the explosion, staring back.

"All units, close into the city centre. I have located the fugitive!" she spoke into her helmet's communications device, then chased her down.

Kema dashed into one alley and darted into a couple of trash compacters. She jumped up to a balcony of a tall building and climbed to its roof. She liked the adrenaline. It's been a long time since she had done it so it was all smiles after she ran across the building. She lept over the large alleys into other roof and would use the force to soften her landing.

However, her fun would end shortly as a tie fighter ascended beneath the alley and stopped her from moving further.

"Attention! Surrender or be disintegrated," the pilot said.

She ignited her sabre and threw it towards the fighter's wings. The sabre cut right through and the wing fell off as the ship spiralled out of control. Kema ducked out of its way and called back her lightsabre. She only arose to find herself surrounded by troopers and the Inquisitor.
