"Damon? Damon is that you?" Kryslin cried out towards the trio.
"Mom!" Damon ran to hug her glad she was ok. He doubted that she was in any trouble, but it was still easing to give her a hug.
"Mom?" Both Saundra and Fanella said confused in unison.
"I mean I guess it makes sense…" Saundra looked at Fanella.
"I guess…" Fanella repeated what she had heard, but wasn't paying too much attention.
"Where is Iona?" Kryslin looked around with a bright smile.
"It looks like she got lost. Us three are planning on going to find her." Fanella answered walking towards her. Kryslin noticed her eyes and looks at Damon who nodded with his eyes. Kryslin was then filled with ease and a bit of joy.
"Well thank you so much! I think I should stay here and help however I can. Don't be gone too long now." Kryslin smiled placing a kiss on Damon's cheek, then Fanella's, and lastly Saundra's. She then went to go help some people list a rather heavy log.
"Shes… uh… Friendly…" Saundra sighed now knowing she was stuck with these idiots. She looked over to the two seeming to stare holes through each other.
"Ima gonna scout out this way… Don't be too long." Saundra sighed shaking her head and walking away.
"We should probably follow her." Fanella gestured the way she had gone.
"Ok, maybe then you will tell me where you are from?"
"That's not possible. You're the first of your species I have met. You can understand why I can't trust you. Plus you seem out of your head." Fanella nodded softly.
Fanella trailed off after Saundra. Damon kept an eye on them from the tree tops. He understood what Fanella had met. One good deed couldn't make the other trust them, but if she wished to borrow Iona, he was gonna need more than being kind towards him.
Also why was her skin so close to human color, sure it helps protect her from those who capture elves, but does she even know about that? Why would she need Iona? For Ionas sake he had to figure out her true intentions.
Up a bit was Saundra trying to get something out of Fanella.
"So, hes cute?" Saundra tried an approach she was never comfortable with, but ver necessary.
"He's a dark elf." Fanella tried to hide a small smile. Noticing this Saundra realized she would have to play this.
"Yes, but he isn't like a normal one, he's been living with humans. That's a plus, right?"
"Maybe. Do you know what your doing?" Fanella looked slightly concerned as Saundra picked up a piece of wood.
"Its been chewed on by a small human. I assume they went this way. If I were him I'd be bringing her to Ingram. Shes small it's highly likely that someone would take care of her there."
"I don't know where that is, do you have a map you can show me?"
"I mean I guess, but whats that gonna do, I know where it is."
"I don't trust you." Fanella stays calm and acts reasonable.
Sighing Saundra take out a map and points to the dot representing Ingram.
"Interesting, usually Ogres don't settle so close to human settlements. Where are we?"
"Ogres? We are here."
"That's a 3 day hike. I don't know if I will have that kind of time. Is there any way to get there sooner?"
"If we had an Aurator…"
"What's the hold up?" Damon jumps down.
"We need an Aurator, what is that?"
"Well it's a Darang. We ride them."
"Oh, is that the only way to speed up our time."
"Darang?" Saundra questioned but got ignored.
"Yes, but if we have to use creatures to get there I'll just stay behind. I am not good with creatures." Damon took a step back. Fanella looked to Saundra who read the moment and left up the trail.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm no good with them."
"You're an elf? Plus you understand humans more than I do."
"You trust me? Really, you know nothing about me?"
"You were banished for using necromancy and you got captured in the human lands. You escaped because you were clever and strong. You collapsed near the sea which is where Kryslin must have found you. She kept you safe and raise you as her own. You owe her a life. There are many bad rumors about you, yet you act according to what protects your family."
"Ok fine. Your turn. You lived in a protected land, but you felt something was off. Someone high up felt a great hatred... towards humans? So you offered to find them a human. You believe what they have told you with a grain of salt, which is why you are not frightened of me. You want to borrow my sister to help calm the hatred towards humans… Wait how did I know that?" He glanced at his hands and back to Fanella.
"I may be of light and you of dark, but either can use hatred to destroy. Elves are bridges between species because we can see the truths. It's how we use them that define us." Fanella placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Ayy come on yea love birds! I think I have an idea." Saundra called out to them.
