The War

"This was a terrible idea!" Yells Damon shouting as they held on for dear life. Sure a Granite Bear was easier to control, but it made for a very hard ride. It was also nowhere as fast as a Aurator.

Laughing Saundra dismissed the insult and took a ride on something she may never be able to do again. She was lucky to have an elf on board of this ride wouldn't be possible. She heard Fanella's stomach rumble.

"We should stop for the night." Saundra suggested.

"Now that sounds like a plan." Damon placed his hand to his head as Fanella tapped her hand on the back of the Granite Bear. It came to a stop and Fanella offered some pure energy.

"Woah, guys do you feel that?" Saundra looked around.

"It's just the wind." Both Fanella and Damon replied at the same time.

"Ok? Ima gonna get something to eat. Whaddya want? Otter, Water Panther…"

Saundra stopped as she felt both of their eyes being daggers to her head.

"Or berries and plants… Dang vegetarians. They ruin everything…" She shrugs off rather disappointed.

"You have to be more careful! There is a war going on right now, you get a pass cause you are half human. But don't think for a moment that your light elf side wouldn't be extremely valuable, especially since many believe they are extinct." Damon lectures her.

"I only wish I was half human. Unfortunately, I am full Light elf with a genetic flaw. I grew up in the Light Elven Kingdom, and while we aren't extinct yet, if I don't find your sister soon we will be. Like you said before someone hates humans. Unlike your species if hate grows my species could do much damage."

"I remember the stories of the dreaded Light elves. You wouldn't take prisoners. Instead of exile you put your people to death. Your eyes turned red and you stole energy from everything. The Dark Elves separated to save ourselves. Then you seemed to disappear."

"I guess there is both truth and lie in that. Those who suffered from hatred did become something else and so before we let them reign chaos we ended them. Their blood was no longer silky white. Those who were left created a barrier so those inside could be safe, its undetectable." Fanella smiled knowing that what she heard about Dark elves must also be misformed.

"You must also have questions about my kind then?"

"Must I judge a whole species on the acts of one? As far as I can tell despite being turned away by them , you don't hate them in the least. You follow their laws and traditions. Though teaching a human of elf ways? You must trust them a lot for humans who capture elves."

"Most don't, others are just… Scared. The kingdom over is dying and so their king wishes to conquer this land, but if he does...:"

"This land will die too. I can see why that would scare them."

"Most are hoping to see through the winter, but I have a feeling the war will be over by then. I doubt it will be favorable."

"You planned to run?"

"You should run too, I doubt your barrier would be able to withstand for long, and who knows what will happen to the Light Elves once they break it down."

"If we don't find your sister I can tell you exactly what will happen. Your nightmares about us will come true, and I won't be able to stop them."

"Got some berries...Geez did I just walk in on something? It looks like you guys just saw a ghost. Is there something here? I just scouted the area."

"Be quiet, we have much to contemplate!" Damon rose his voice and hand to Saundra. Who scoffed and threw down wood before crossing her arms and going off again.
