"What in the world is she doing?" Saundra watched from a distance as Fanella tried to absorb as much pure energy as she could. It was very difficult and required so much concentration.
Understanding that Saundra was most likely a bounty hunter as well Damon had to come up with a logical story.
"She's doing yoga." He says carefully.
"Oh. You know her eyes are kinda odd."
"Have you really been paying that much attention to her eyes?" Damon tried to put it off. Realizing that may have just thrown more suspicion he came up with a more logical answer.
"She told me she was cursed." Damon explained.
"Cursed? That's terrible! Who cursed her?"
"She didn't really want to explain more than that, so we probably shouldn't pry."
The both look over to where she was sitting. Saundra took out a sword and Damons eyes glowed red. They slowly went to where she was just sitting.
"Done!" Fanella dropped down and scared them both.
"What were you doing up there?" Damon clutched his heart.
"Breathing. Are we gonna head out?"
"You climb trees rather well." Saundra spoke slowly and mystified.
"Thanks… so do you?" She tried out her human response before getting back on the granite bear.
The three stayed mostly quiet in hopes they would hear an Aurator or in Damon's case Iona. That was their excuse anyways. They all had stuff they had to deal with and at this point, wondering if they could trust each other was near the top of this list.
They were only using Saundra for her tracking, meanwhile she agreed due to the fact she found Fanella to be so curious. Maybe it was that Fanella reminded her of someone she lost. She hoped to find answers, but at times she really dreaded agreeing to this.
Meal times seemed to be the worst when it came to the three getting along.
"Oh come on! Fish doesn't count? How in the world have you survived this long?" Saundra was at her wits end. She had never gone so long without meat.
"Put it back." Fanella squinted.
"Ok Damon, your an elf, talk some sense into her before I personally end her!"
"What does me being an elf have to do with it?"
"I don't know! She's some sort of elf lover, she wants to be taken by them and be raised with them." Saundra throws up her arms and walks away in a heat.
"What was all that about?" Damon sighs.
"She found me setting the Fire otter free. She asked if I believed in Light elves." Fanella snickered thinking about it.
"Oh, though you really should consider getting nutrients from at least fish. Dark elves taught that keeping oneself healthy was more important than letting one fish live." Damon shares.
"No. No elf would willingly harm any creature."
"What would you think if I told you I eat fish?"
"You are not light elf, and technically you've been banished." Fanella nips it right in the bud.
"Geez you are harsh. What are you anyways? History Keeper? Assistant to the queen? Are you the Queen? Wait no on that last one. Queens are not allowed to mettle in situations outside the kingdom. She must remain the heart of the people." Damon recites.
"None of the above, I am just trying to save my kingdom."
"I don't know how Light elves do it now, but I hope they don't consider you a traitor for leaving, especially if what you said is true." Damon looked at the fire and glanced up at Fanella.
She too was hoping the same thing. The wind blew cold, despite the fire. The fire otter still rested on Fanella's head.
"I suggest you start wearing a cape, possibly Otter fur lining?" When Fanella looked up Damon shook his head.
"I mean fake Otter fur, and if you want to keep that thing I suggest a collar."
"Whats a collar?"
"Well it's an information tag. If he leaves the theory is someone will bring him back."
"No, he won't leave until he is ready. And when he is I won't stop him."
"Geez, no wonder she has suspicions. You really gotta start acting more human, or we are both in trouble." Damon sighed glancing to the hat she was wearing. It caused him uneasiness.
He tightened his fists and stood up.
"I am going to find some food." He keeps his head down and walks away.
"He's right. I should at least try to act human. I wonder why he's so scared."
