Explaining War

They were finally reaching Ingram. It was much bigger than Housen Sea Village. The buildings were made out of something else entirely.

"Woah!" Iona couldn't believe the sight she was seeing.

"You like Ingram? You gonna be thrilled the day you see the Capital." Jurgen sighed rubbing the back of his head.

"Is that? Jurgen!" A voice clobbers both of them.

"Drite? What you doing so far from home?" Jurgen looks over as Iona turned to see another massive man taking Jurgen into a headlock.

"Eh the Willows were no match for me?" Drite lets him go and punches him in the stomach, though it looks like it didn't do anything to jurgen.

"Ha you big baby just needed to give those Cactus kitten eyes and say please. You were such a runt." Jurgen sort of laughs play punching him back, but it's clear the difference in strength as Drite falls back immediately.

"You've been working out! You black blood!" He struggles to get back up.

"Not in front of the little one." Jurgen looks towards Iona still basking in the presence.

"She's with you? You settled down! The poor lady… wait which one?" Drite begins to laugh hysterically before there is pain caused from the punch and he stops.

"I don't do that. I have no time. She is just a damsel. I am helping her find someone to watch over her." Jurgen explains.

"Ah and your here in Ingram to restock and I see get a reward from that head shaped bag. Dot will be pleased he's off our streets." Drite motions.

"Hows your lady? Has she realized there is a real man out there?" Jurgen tries to play the part of social, but its clear he isn't used to people.

"You! Shes doing amazing. Ail and Frije are growing so fast. The girl can hang with them if she wants it will be a well deserved vacation from you." Drite laughs.

"Iona this is Drite. I saved his tiny butt from trouble a while back. He's got two kids a bit older than you, but if you'd like they can show you around.I got some business here today. Just meet me back by the setting of the Barin Sun." Jurgen suggests.

"Ok." Iona looks around very excited, Housen sea was busy, but this place was far more so.

"Give the girl some money." Drite laughs as Jurgen pulls out a few coins.

"She won't even be able to buy a drink with that! At least 200 Piks will last her to the end." Drite laughs Jurgen rolls his eyes.

"Trouble comes easy here, I trust you will get out of it as easy as you will get in?" Jurgen questions and Iona nods very excitedly.

"Ail, I want you to take this girl into the city and show her the sites! If you get tired take her to Frije, and her girls. And avoid Yurkin!" Drite yells as a very sleepy guy walks out of the house to see a tiny girl next to man as large as his dad.

"You look here boy. A scratch on her head and you can kiss your teenage years goodbye."Jurgen looks at him threateningly. Iona was a tad too comfortable to be near a guy over twice her age grabs his hand and runs him into the heart of the city.

"I never thought I'd see you so worried." Drite laughs though Jurgen wasn't worrying too much. He was just hoping that the city could handle her.

"Ok ok. You really need to calm down."Ail pulls her to a stop.

"Sorry." Iona looked around. While everything seemed to be happy, it was just like her village. Something saddened the people and it was spreading.

"Why is everyone so sad?" Iona asked Ail who looked around then smiled softly down at himself.

"Even a kid can sense it, huh." He began heading down some scary alleyways.

"Where are we going?" Iona asks as they began to pass people on either side.

"Dad said I shouldn't take you here, but it seems you can handle the truth." Ail went into one of the buildings and after Iona followed him in the room moved up. It stopped on the roof and Iona followed Ail out. It was beautiful to say the least.

"Something bad is coming." Ail begins.

"Only if we let them win the war." Iona nodded, very much understanding the situation.

"War? There is a war? How do you know?" Ail seems frightened by her knowledge.

"Its gonna be alright. I mean without Damon I don't know how will it will work, but if I don't try…"

"What do they think it accomplishes by not telling us?" Ail seems angered.

"It's not like we are being told by the queen. Unless someone knows what they are looking for its nearly impossible to identify the enemy. There isn't even solid evidence. Anyone who dies by their hand basically disappears." Iona explained the best she could changing the sentence to best calm Ail down.

"What else do you know?"

"I don't think its a good idea to tell you." She shared the truth. She could see his actions might cause more problems if she told him any more.

"Thats too bad." He sighed before continuing.

"I thought we could do it the easy way." He grabbed her arm.
