Fear Nurses Evil

Iona realized that she had gotten herself into a sticky situation. She wished she had taken more precautions, but these guys were desperate and they may do something they would regret. It was cold and she couldn't see anything.

Her wrists hurt, they were tied to a metal chair. She was just a kid, did they really feel that threatened by her. She wished Damon was there. She began to cry she was scared. As she heard footsteps she stopped and the blindfold came off. There she saw Ail and hoped he would get her out of there.

"So where are we?" Iona looks around.

"Haitem, she knows about the great winter." Ail ignored Iona.

"Ail, you bring guests?" A lady comes out looking rather tough, she is followed by two others seemingly equal in toughness.

"We are in Yurkin?" Iona quickly realizes. She should have trusted her first instinct with this one.

"Well she's clever, but does she know?" Haitem speaks.

"She said that a war was coming." Ail tosses Iona a cold glance. Looking at the marks on the walls and the high tier looking point Iona became aware of what this was. A fighting pit.

"Oh did she?" She walked towards iona.

"You are scared too…" Iona looked at her with tear stained eyes. Haitem was wanting what everyone seemed to want before the war even started, power. Unfortunately, it looked like how she saw power was in soldiers.

"You think I'm scared. For that outburst maybe one of my pets will get their first meal of the week."Haitem sighed.

"The info."Ail looked towards Iona scared for her.

"Oh yeah. Get Kurtus in here." Haitem waved her hand.

"There might be an easier way." Ail called after her.

"There was." Iona was saddened, she was beginning to see what Jurgen meant, people weren't what she hoped they could be. She understood why they were acting cruel.

"Kid, I was told you had some info. We can do this easily or we can do this the hard way." A guy named Kurtus walks in before seeing the one he was supposed to torchure answers out of was so little.

"Easy way please." Iona put out her lower lip, at this point she wasn't gonna see any of the city.

"You must have made them very angry if they wanted to torchure you. What did a cute little girl say to piss her off?" Kurtus sighs and places down a bag he brought in.

"I saw something she didn't want me to see. She was scared, and she sees it as vulnerability." Iona shares.

"You got a cut on your arm." Kurtus points out, though Iona had barely noticed. She looked confused at where she had gotten it from. Kurtus seeing her wrists turn purple cuts off the zip ties.

"So what was it they were wanting to know anyway?" He spoke beginning to tend to her cut.

"You are absolutely terrible at coaxing out information." Iona laughed.

"I guess I am." Kurtus laughs.

"I think it was supposed to happen the other way around, but I'm ok with meeting the leader second. It's a nice change. Though it was smart to be willing to torture. Either way you would get information out of me. It looks like normally you don't play the good guy anyways." Iona looked at the tenderness of his wound mending.

"You found me out little one. You are so very clever." Kurtus laughs almost hurt that he was found out by such a small child.

"It's ok. You should train your soldiers better, but I think you will be ok. You have a good heart, you just don't know where to put it. Ail said no one tells you guys anything." Iona begins to speak.

"Yeah." He spoke slowly now getting slightly concerned.

"You can ask me a question." Iona shares.

"You know about the war? What is it?" He asks.
