OUTBREAK (3)

With an Orc in front of Xir and the others, the children began to shake in fear of what is to come. Although Xir was not afraid, he was still being intimidated by the three-meter tall monster.

Sol tried getting closer to Xir and as she grabbed him by the shoulders.

= "X-Xir, you need to get out of here with the other children. In the count of five, before that thing makes a move I'll distract it so you can rally the other children can follow you." = Solstice sounded scared but the determination and courage her eyes reflected was nothing short of genuine. She was prepared to die for the orphaned kids.

= [They have suffered enough. At least, I can give them a chance to live.] = was the thought going on inside her head.

Xir turned his head slowly to Solstice and saw those eyes and decided to nod his head, but he had to ask her.

= "You are scared and you are powerless, do you think you will be able to survive. The moment you make a ruckus, that would be the time your death is going to be decided." = Xir's words pierced Solstice's heart and manage to make her waver ever so slightly.

But she clenched her dainty fist and showed a force but bright on Xir, = "Do not worry about me, I have made the decision already. I am counting on you to bring them out of this place, it would be best if you were to head over to the Bunkers and seek shelter and protection." =

Solstice turned her head away from Xir. She slowly walked to the opposite side of the room where there were no child and the sight of the Orc did not extend over to her.

= [One, two, three, four huu…] = She took in a deep breath but just as she was about to throw the rock that she had picked up from the ground, a loud sound reverberated in her ears.

Bang!

It was the sound of a gun being fired and that gun came from right in front of the Orc. In front of the Orc that held a club made of wood was a thin and skinny boy.

Xir looked at the Orc that had the face of a big and a body that is bloated and fatty, he frowned at the sight of the Orc itching the area where he had his bullet hit. He was irritated more than scared and the Orc that had little to no intelligence was feeling the same way as him.

The club that was on the Orc's hand swung against Xir. Xir ducked and dodged the swing of the Orc.

Bang! Bang!

He shot two more shots on the face of the Orc. It was directed at its eyes, and as he fired them, Xir finally managed to get lucky and hit it on its right eye.

"KIEEEEEE!!!!" The Orc screeched in pain as it flailed all over the place trying to hit Xir. Its movements were wild and had no definite pattern, it was hard to predict but easy to run away from.

Xir did not lose any time and began his move and slid across the floor and head out through the path where the Orc had blasted through. As he was running away he turned to Solstice who was looking at him dazed.

She was about to say something but he merely placed his index fingers on his lips as if he was saying that she should stay quiet. Solstice felt her eyes water and the kids that was trembling in fear was rallied by her and she prepared to step out of the library and then the orphanage.

= "Hold on Xir, your mother will return to help you." = As the mother of these unfortunate children, Solstice had a job to take care of the children. She wanted to go after Xir but she had to worry about the safety of the kids.

Xir did not care about what she things because even as he was running and leading the angered Orc, Xir was trying to understand his own reasoning why he went and did what he just did.

= [My actions were irrational it did not hold any benefits to me and only endangered my life. What was I thinking?] = he was berating himself in his head but even as he did, he felt nothing wrong about what he had done.

= [Did I act that way to save the stupid woman?] = he was confused, but he had no time to think of what he should do because…

Boom!

The ground caved as the club of the Orc managed to nearly hit him square on the body. Xir was calm but he was still feeling the intimidation of the Orc, the vast and deep savage intent it had was something he had not felt before.

But as Xir took a right on one of the many turns he could have taken, he found himself on a narrow path where two walls were on both sides. To his left, there was a wall and on his right, there was also a wall.

The space itself was wide but for the Orc that had followed him in a fit of rage, it was too narrow and had little to no breathing room. Its arms could not move freely, the Orc was trapped.

Xir made use of this opportunity and brought out a wand from his UIR. He held his hand with his right hand and the wand with his left. Xir was ambidextrous. He began concentrating and then gathering of the Mana from the origin.

= "KIEEEE!" = An incomprehensible sound was made by the Orc and the wall that entrapped it was suddenly destroyed to dust.

It let go its club and then attempted to bash Xir and beat him to a bloody pulp. Xir did not move in a grandiose manner. He merely pulled the trigger of the handgun.

Bang!

A bullet was fired, the Orc became scared of the bullet that had taken its eyes and flinched backward. It lost its footing and tumbled down.

The Orc was falling from above it was going to him square on the head. Xir did not move, and raised the wand on his left hand, he pointed it at the Orc and with his brows creased, he softly uttered, = "Igni." =

The mana that had been refined and comprehended churned into the gem that is at the end of the wand. It turned bright red and with the heat beginning to explode out of the gem.

Boom!

An explosion occurred, and it was at point-blank range.
