Memories (III)

Countless scenes appeared of Daemon meticulously working to take over the whole planet, enslaving the surviving people. His thirst for power did not stop with just that planet alone.

All the pieces of himself that he had sent out to different worlds took possession of the creatures of the land. Some took the form of four-legged animals and others into two-legged beings.

They hid, planned, and slowly took over small cities, empires, and even whole continents, waging wars against the descendants of the planet itself. It didn't stop there as it tried to mingle with the natives, creating a wide variety of morphed diabolical creatures. There were only a handful that Daemon was able to mix with, which he made powerful descendants of his kind.

Each born became powerful kings of their own, establishing empires that the world had never seen. They were called the Demon Kings of Destruction. Upon their accession, each Demon King created the blueprints to open up the gates to allow their father to step through.

Many more images of death and destruction were present, none ever ending with happiness but the complete take over of the planet. Hundreds more planets of Daemon's offspring were shown, and the one the scene changed to the Planet Earth.

The ravaged world of Earth was bleak and dull. The planet was half alive and half-dead as the nuclear holocaust took over half the Earth.

Snow had never seen such a sad planet before.

There were no trees or plants present as they were warped or decayed into black charcoal-like knots. Trash was littered high up in large piles. The ocean was sick with debris as dead fish and whales surfaced the top, rotting away. The cities were covered in protection glasses that purified the polluted air and had multiple plants growing inside them.

The scene changed again. A woman with black hair and black eyes hidden behind glasses was wearing protection gears. She stood proudly against the demons that were roaming the darkness. In her hand was a gun as she scored the very building with her teammates. Bright flashes of light and gunshots echoed in the night as they quickly took down the twisted creatures that ravaged the land. It was creatures that were not meant to be there or ever existed on Planet Earth.

A group of soldiers burst through the room with guns drawn.

Standing casually as if nothing was wrong was Daemon, but without horns. He was a stunning man. His golden eyes looked at the women with interest.

The woman glared with suspicion as her teammates slowly crept around him.

Daemon rolled his eyes at the weapons that were aimed at him. He raised his hand, causing one of the rifles on the right to blow up. In seconds, the soldier collapsed onto the ground, dead.

Suddenly, the gunshots went off.

Daemon flickered in and out, appearing before them like ghosts. His magical power shocked the soldiers, unable to understand how he was creating such powerful forces. They have never seen such strange powers before that could overtake their weapons. It didn't take long for the rest of the soldiers to die. Only the women were alive.

Rushing in, Daemon lunged in and broke her arm, disabling her in the process.

She screamed in pain, holding her arm. Her goggles were ripped off, showing off her beautiful face.

Snow heard a gasp from Dairen's mouth. "Mom?" For a moment, Snow thought she heard wrong. Mom? Her gaze went back to the scene, wondering what would happen next.

Daemon smiled evilly, his eyes glowing with sinister intent.

Even in pain, the woman didn't back down. She gritted her teeth, blood dripping down her lips. She threw a powerful roundhouse kick, which landed perfectly on Daemon's ribs.

A crack was heard, leaving Daemon crumbled over in surprise. He had to reorient himself to get his breathing straight. Cracking his neck a few times, he headed straight toward her in an arrogant manner.

The moment he tilted his head, he disappeared and reappeared right next to her.

The women didn't even flinch. Her other arm that was not broken blocked the oncoming attack, and she was thrown to the side like a ragdoll. At that moment, another slew of combinations of punches and kicks continued to barrage down on her body. She felt her ribs break, and her other arm become useless. Even still, she violently fought back with whatever strength that she had left.

Her eyes glimmered in an animalistic way that many would have been shook by her intensity. A right punch to her jaw came from the blindside, causing her to knock out.

Daemon stood over her, looking down with interest. He didn't kill her but squatted down.

"You're a feisty little cat." Daemon chuckled. "I like that." He quickly scanned her body.

"You have life growing in you." Daemon stopped. He was interested in what he found. "We can use that." With a smack of his lips, he reached over and touched her shoulder.

Pulling her to her back, his hand glowed black. It hovered over her chest then down to her stomach.

A black seed eerily glowed black. With a quick plunge, Daemon's hand entered into her stomach, leaving the seed behind. The woman's body exploded into a series of seizures. Even arching back and locking into place.

Finally, the woman stopped moving as her body completely relaxed.

Daemon pulled his hand back out. "Take care of him." He whispered with glee. He got up, disappearing into the shadows.

The women woke up days later. She was brought back to the hospital, mentally tired and physically drained. There wasn't much she could remember except the painful punch to the side of the head. She hoped it was a dream.

With a groan, she pushed herself up.

A nurse came over with a cup of water and handed it to her. "How are you feeling, Ms. Sarah Ramafield."

"I feel like I got slugged in the head." Sarah blinked a few times. She looked around, realizing where she was at. "By any chance, do you know how I got here?"

"Yes. The army brought you here. I don't know what you have been doing, but whatever your job is, it's terrible. Never seen so many broken bones, bruises, and muscle tears in my life. It's almost as if you fell from a three-floor building and managed to survive." The nurse scolded her as she was fixing the IV.

"You can say something like that." Snow halfheartedly chuckled at her joke. Her body was aching all over. She wanted to stretch and even get up to work her tight muscles, but she could barely move.

"I wouldn't move much if I were you." The nurse went over to help her move her body a little so Sarah could be comfortable. "You are also three months in on your pregnancy. I'm surprised your child had survived through such a rough ordeal."

"I'm pregnant?"

"Yes." The nurse shook her head, gleaming in excitement for her. "Your husband must be thrilled about this news."

"My husband?" She quietly worded, confused. She didn't have a husband, though she did have a boyfriend.

"Yes, he will be happy that you are awake now."

Sarah was confused. She couldn't help but wonder who it was that was pretending to be her husband.

"Well, I'll tell him that you are awake."

"Thanks."

Sarah patiently waited, trying to piece together what had happened. The last thing that she remembered was being hit and blacking out. Whatever that they were fighting against annihilated her whole group. She felt frustrated that they couldn't do anything against it, but what completely threw her off was why she left alone? What happened?

The door opened.

Who came in was her superior. He was a tall, stoic man, wearing black and green from head to toe. One could tell that he was quite a handsome man. He stepped in through the door.

"Major. Blake, sir." Sarah had spoken up quickly. She couldn't stand up as she felt too weak.

"Lt. Ramafield. It's good to see that you are awake. I know you have questions, but you are the only one found alive to simplify the matter. We extracted you out, hoping that you would have the answer to what had happened."

"Well, sir. We came in to quell the rebel leader but instead found something else entirely."

"Such as?"

"A monster." That was the best way to describe what she had just gone through; it was too unbelievable. It was just too supernatural for her taste.

"A monster, you say."

"Yes, sir."

Major Blake thought silently over what she had said.

"Sir."

"Yes?"

"Why did you put yourself as my husband in the hospital?"

Major Blake titled his head, not sure what she meant. "Husband?"

"You are not?"

"I think you have been mistaken."

Sarah was confused. Then who was it? Nothing was making sense.

"This is something I'll look into." Major Blake said with seriousness. "I'll be back to check up on you another time."

"Yes, sir."

Major Blake turned around he headed straight to the door. He then suddenly stopped as he reached for the door. "Congratulations, Lt. on your child."

Sarah was unable to say anything before Major Blake left the room.

"Child…" Sarah sighed, trying to figure out what she would need to do for her career. Her hand raised as she patted her stomach slowly a few times.

The scene changed one last time.

Sarah birthed a baby boy. She had him in her arms, looking at him with a bit of weariness. But when the baby moved around in her arms, she couldn't help but smile.

"Welcome to the world, Darien." She said, kissing his forehead. The scene ended.
