The Puzzle of Jack part 2

[FLASHBACK]

A lake near the small cave Jack and Hope were staying was his training ground. Wooden targets were hung on the trees surrounding him. Each was about the size of a soccer ball. Jack stood alone in the deserted wood, Hope was sleeping, and this was the best time to train, knives tucked between his fingers, three in each hand, he wanted to be a well-rounded warrior so knowing how to use every weapon was a must.

"Here I go," Jack closed his eyes and slowly pushed the air out of his lungs from the bottom of his stomach.

As Jack crouched down, he kicked at the ground as hard as he could focusing his aura on his feet, the force propelled him into the air where he flipped upside down. He held his arms to his chest, and

then shot them out to both sides, and the knives flew to the targets.

The sound echoed all around Jack as he landed, the sharp blades had pierced the targets.

"Amazing!" A voice came suddenly from behind him; Jack immediately put himself in a defensive position, ready to strike anyone in the vicinity.

Jack swallowed his breath and looked back to see a boy and a girl with black hair standing there, they were clearly older than him, maybe two or three years above him.

"How old are you?" the boy asked first.

"Ten," Jack answered slowly, keeping his guard on, and eying the cave where his baby sister was sleeping.

"I have never seen someone using knives or weapons like you," The boy stretched out a hand. "Lapis, and this is my sister Lazuli." the boy said, pointing to his sister.

"I'm— Jack," Jack said slowly.

"You're an orphan, right?" Lazuli said like she just had solved the puzzle that was Jack, but there was a hint of compassion on her voice.

Jack was confused by how friendly Lazuli sounded. It probably showed on his face, since Lazuli was smiling at his reaction.

"It's alright, we both are too," Lapis said with a sad smile.

"Jack~" a cute little voice called Jack, both Lapis and Lazuli turned to the cave, Jack moved towards the cave, putting himself on a defensive position, like a tiger protecting his cubs.

"We mean no harm," Lazuli immediately understanding the reaction on Jack tried to calm him down.

Jack's eyes locked on their auras as they approach up to him, and his recently awaken sister, Jack's arms flew out, grabbing Lapis by the neck doing a lock-on him.

"Whoa!" Lapis gasped with his eyes wide in amazement, "We really mean no harm."

"Yummi~" Hope the cute little toddler said as she ate a bar of chocolate that Lazuli had thrown at her from the safe distance, exactly the same moment Jack had subdued Lapis.

"How was that?" Lazuli grinned as she saw the little girl's face enjoying the chocolate as if was life on a bar. "We have a bit of food if you two are hungry,"

Jack was having some troubles trusting them, was that chocolate poisoned? Did they really mean no harm, his system wouldn't tell him much he didn't have the skill to inspect them, but they seemed sincere, perhaps he could trust them? Though that statement on his mind seemed more like a question.

"You seemed like a capable guy, help us, and we'll help you, deal?" Lapis said, gasping for air under Jack's restrains.

Hope seemed to lighten up for them, or maybe it was the chocolate speaking, he could still kill them should they prove a threat.

"Deal," Jack reluctantly let Lapis go, as he ate a bit of chocolate his sister was eating to see if it was poisoned.

[FLASHBACK ENDS]

"So what do you think I should do, my friend Jaune is getting bullied, and he doesn't want any help," Pyrrha asked, bringing back to reality.

"Hmmm, well I suppose we could teach the bullies why you don't mess with our friends," I said, "Then again Jaune needs to fight this alone, he at the very least needs to stand up for himself,"

"I guess you're right." Pyrrha sighed, "But I will try to convince in Lunch!"

'I wonder does Pyrrha still has a crush on Jaune, or because of me that never developed,' I thought as I watched Pyrrha go to the food court.

"Hurry up!" Pyrrha called me.

"Coming!" I said, shouting back at her, she sure is a lively girl.

Once I get in the cafeteria, I found my team and RWBY talking on a table, Jaune is sitting there with a depressed look, and Pyrrha is worried is easy to notice it.

Pyrrha looking at Jaune, "Jaune? Are you okay?"

Jaune snapping out of his mind turning back to Pyrrha, "Huh? Oh, yeah! Why?"

Ruby also seemed to notice he was sad, "It's just that you seem a little... not okay..."

"Better talk about it, pal, these girls won't let you alone till you do," I add to the conversation.

Jaune, as the others stare at him, "Guys, I'm fine. Seriously! Look!" he holds up a thumb while laughing nervously until his attention is focused on the members of Team CRDL, standing around a girl with brown rabbit ears jutting from her hair as Cardin laughs at her and Sky Lark holds up his hands to his head in a mock interpretation of her unusual features.

Pyrrha tired of wanting him to say that Cardin was bullying him, "Jaune, Cardin's been picking on you since the first week of school!"

Jaune trying to avoid the truth said or more likely he was lying to himself, "Who? Cardin Winchester? Nah... He just likes to mess around! You know, practical jokes!"

Ruby looks slightly mad at Cardin, "He's a bully."

Jaune scoffed. "Oh, please! Name one time he's 'bullied' me."

"Really?" Ren stops eating and looks at him like, 'are you being serious right now?'

Jaune looks down and laughs, awkwardly, "Hehehe."

"Jaune, you know if you ever need help, you can just ask," Pyrrha said, patting Jaune back.

"Ooooh!" Nora gets excited and gets up from the table and presents her diabolical plan with a not-entirely-sane grin. "We'll break his legs and smash his head!"

"Jesus Nora, that went from one to one thousand really quick," I said laughing, "I like it,"

Jaune looks at us, "Guys, really, it's fine! Besides, it's not like he's only a jerk to me; he's a jerk to everyone."

I looked over to the table Cardin was sitting as the laughter grows louder, mixed in with cries of pain from the rabbit girl when one of her ears are tugged on by Cardin.

"Ow! That hurts! Please, stop..." Velvet cries in pain,

"Ok, that's fucking it!" I said, standing up the table going to Cardin's table.

As I approach, Cardin continues laughing and pulling Velvet's ears as he turns to his gang of morons, "I told you they were real!"

"Hey pal," I said, tapping his shoulder.

Cardin, laughing turns around, just to receive a punch on the face that pushed him to the other side of the room crashing on a wall.

Cardin's teammates stand up, ready to fight, and I'm ready to kick their asses.

Pyrrha jumps in front of me, "You fight him, you fight us!"

"It would be wise to let this go, or you guys will end up hurt," Ren said.

"Mama wants violence, come on! bring it on!" Nora said with a wicked smile.

Cardin looks at us and reluctantly goes away with his team.

"Thanks..." Velvet said.

"It's ok if he bothers you again, let me know, and I will break him in half," I said with determination, there are two things I hate in my life, those who abuse of their power and going to the doctor for some weird reason.
