Chapter 1: Registering

Hello, my name is Dante Williams. Right now I'm setting up a VR Headset, to play the new game that just released. That game being Destined Fantasy Online, or just DFO for short. As for the reason I'm going to be playing this game well I'll have to take you back a day.

Friday, July 26, 20XX 2:45 PM, A normal High School

I was in my Math class waiting for the end of the day, when my best friend Ray started telling me about DFO. Ray is a short blond-haired white guy with green eyes. We became friends after having a couple of classes together in grade 9, and sitting near each other. He was a beta tester for DFO and would show me some screen shots of the game. Unlike him, I don't really play any VR games and prefer traditional games that I play on my computer monitor.

Anyways back on topic, he was telling my about how the full release of DFO was coming out tomorrow, which was also the start of our summer break. He convinced me in our first year together to get a VR Headset, but I never use it. He was telling me to get the game with him tomorrow, I told him that if he bought it for me then I'll play. He readily accepted and we made plans to get the game. We ended up going to the store and waiting the entire night to get the game.

Which is why I am now setting up my headset, I never did when I got it due to not having a PC capable of running it. It didn't take that long and now all I had to do was instal the DFO and start playing.

I guess I should fill you in on what DFO is. DFO is a VRMMORPG designed to take advantage of the full dive VR we have today. Full dive VR, or FDVR, make it so that the person experiencing the VR is completely immersed by replicating all of the users senses in VR. DFO has a Medieval Europe setting with magic, demi-humans, Gods/Deities, and more. At least that's all the information I gathered from Ray, he is very secretive about the games he plays.

The game is done now it is time to start playing. Laying down on my bed I put the headset onto my head and run the game. My vision fades to black; I can't feel anything nor do any of my other senses work. I was scared until a blue pop-up message comes in front of me.

◜Welcome to Destined Fantasy Online!!! Please enter your username and password!! ◞

I entered my information, and was then placed in a weird room? All it had was a single cylinder as a platform to stand on, and a giant white pop-up menu. On it was all the options to register a new character. It took me a whole half an hour to make my character, I think I have no sense of time in this room. This is what it looks like.

=================================

Out of everything I looked at, I think I have made the best choice in terms of race, job, and skills. My race being Inhuman means I can transform into a human-form, half-beast-form, and a full-beast-form. With the alchemical lizard having a buff with Alchemy, and having higher body and magic stats, the only downsides are that I have less Constitution (Con), which determines how big your Inventory is, and I need way more exp to level up. For the job Adventurer's can use gain any skill, and they gain 1 stat point to every stat on level up. I don't really know any downside for this job as they aren't listed.

As for skills: [Vampire] is basically life drain, mana drain, and light resist all in one. It has no downside besides needing to get up and personal with the target of the skill. Which is why I have [Dagger Wielding], according to Ray, daggers count as contact damage for most encounters due to there very small size. So I can use [Vampire] while wielding a dagger. The downsides of daggers though is that they are almost unrepairable due to there small sized, they are more prone to breaking than any other weapon in the game, according to Ray. [General Enhancement] is for a boost to my stats, with it being a passive it levels up all on it's own. As for both magic, poison is for letting me wound more bulky enemies more effectively. And life is for healing me/curing my status ailments. And finally [General Crafting] is for my to save money on items, weapons, and armour, by being able to make my own.

My character is 5' 11" with hair, eyes, and scales that change with the direction of the light. The entire model is covered in scales with only the face being uncovered. I designed him haphazardly so he looks almost exactly like me, minus the scales and hair/eyes. Being happy with all that I've done, I finally start playing DFO for real.
