Let's Be Friends

Rajeev's POV

As the warden opened the door to his cell, I saw him trudging into the open space. The iron bars felt like a great fence that separated our souls. Coming to think about it, does he even have a soul? The last time I remembered he acted like a demon being released from the clutches of hell. However, my heart lurched when my eyes landed on his form. The man standing in front of me looked nowhere near the man who I knew 10 years back.

His shoulders were slumped and his collar bones were peeking out through his worn-out clothes. No, I didn't come here to see this. His eyes held some sort of fear until he lifted up his head to meet my eyes. It seemed like he was expecting some else instead of me. I heard an audible gasp and one doesn't need rocket science to understand that he was clearly shocked to see me standing there.
