Chapter 19: Elemental Disadvantage

Quickly I turned around and bolted away, I ran for my life! "Well... ain't nobody got time for that!!"

The creature clearly had me marked as a large blob of magma landed in front of me... barely I dodge,

as I turned in the brakes. Holding myself down with my tail, I was ablw to quickly chance my trajectory and quickly turned around the fallen magma.

"Don't look back! Don't look back! I am getting the fuck out of here!! Nope, nope, nope..."

As I barely had dodged the magma, quickly I tried bolting for safety, I made myself focus on what was ahead of me, as I knew... whenever I would look back that I would be done for!

It took a while for the creature to attack, thus I thought to myself that it must have given up on attacking me, but just when I wanted to turn around to check a volley of serveral magma blobs flew straight at me.

Shocked by this, Intried to cling on to life, desperately trying to dodge whichever blocked my path...

I was running so hard that the heat began to get to me. During this time the system gave me a notice.

[Due to excessive exposure to higher temperatures advances to .]

As I got this message while running I couldn't really pay much attention to it, still getting slightly distracted I didn't realize the creature had prepared something more devastating for me...

But before I could realize... it was to late...

Something huge covered the light that from above, creating a large shadow as it covered quite a larger area than what I could cover with my body... I looked up, and knew... I... was... fucked...

A large ball of fire dropped down towards me,

as I knew I didn't have a chance to dodge what was quickly closing in on me...

I tried to quickly turn, but tripped... which made me rotate around my axis, as I rolled onwards.

The fiery monstrosity now at same hight as me dropped even lower, I had come to a halt and lay on my back, unable to escape...

There was only one thing to do, or try that is.

I used al my remaining mana to conjure an acid bubble as large as possible. But what I did... wasn't what you might think... no, indeed. I didn't hurl it at the ball, instead... I covered myself with the sphere and waited for impact.

As Ibwas unable to forget my last experience,

I knew that when both spheres would come into contact a large explosion would be triggered.

The only difference this time was that the sphere consisted of highly potent acid... upon touching it I knew I couldn't cover myself in it... because I would be instantly dissolved...

So yea... the only option I had was for the acid gass emitted from my body, to come in contact with the flames. I made sure I the acid could still ooze out of my body... this too was part of the Conjuration Skill.

But instead of letting it ooze from my body, Intried a different approach as I injected it slowly into the freshly created acid sphere.

Knowing the liquid sphere would function as a protective layer I tried to stand up with all my might, when I did, I bolted away from both the river and as far away as possible, because of the delayed explosion which would he inevitably triggered.

I ran for my life! And as I thought to myself that I had made it to safely, the sphere got lid by the flames, creating a chain reaction of some sorts.

The reaction instantly turned into a massive explosion which alarmed all creatures whitin the area, the beast from whitin the lava quickly dived under in the hopes of escaping the following shock wave.

The explosion made strong waves in the lava making it gush and spread all over the area...

As for myself...

I wasn't able to fully escape the explosion, for a second time... you would think that the previous experience had thought me something...

But instead... I went, and done it again...

The explosiom had scorched my scales which had protected me from most of the explosion.

This in turn triggered the experience gain for not only, , and .

But even .

It was clear... I was at an elemental disadvantage even because I too had the ability to manipulate and conjure fire. Those who lived among the flames must have grown accustomed to the heat and enviroment.

This had given the creature an advantage based on experience...

At least for now... I was save, and for what?

Not only was I scorching the grounds around me,

but also hurting my skin once again...

Unable to get away from the flames I had no choice but, to conjure my own, hoping this would cancel out those of my enemy... Yet, what I found... wasn't as pleasing to say the least... The flames which got left behind by the massive ball of magna, began to harden as this slowly allowed them to slowly take over my flames...

As the heat became unbearable,

the flames crept closer with a steady pace...

Surrounded by my own flames, I couldn't believe that I would be done in, not by the enemies flames...

Instead they were flames made by yours truly...

As there was no way out I prepared for the worst, the flames began to scorch my skin when I realized it was better to end everything with a bang!

Having nothing to lose, I began to slowly conjure some acid, slowly it oozed from in between the open area's covered by my skales. Hoping it would quickly solve my predicament. Only a few moments later the acidic ooze came into contaxt with the flames instsntly lightjng up the room, which created a chain reaction of explosions...

But this time the situation was different!

Because I had taken mental notice of my last experience with unprepared fireworks.

Instead I instantly closed the opening inderneath my scales allowing my body to create an extra layer of armor which had the ability to absorb the impact.

The creature on the other hand didn't have the opportunity to react to the unexpacted explosion,

as the river and got caught in the chain of explosions.

The chain reaction expanded towards the river and didn't stop for anything, instead anythung caught in the ast got obliterated by sheer force.

Here I was... being in the losers-seat,

yet when the small chance had presented itself... taking it with both arms... the creature even if resistant to heat, also got scorched by the flames.

Having utulized the smallest of chances,

one thing was certain... I had to come out victorious!

The creature had been blown out of the river,

Magma had been shot off due to the force of the explosion, startled it flailed on the ground.

Unable to turn back on its four feet it struggled to get back to safety... that was when I conjured acid, thought my razor-sharp teeth as I tried to bite straight through its skin... but proof quickly fell upon me as my teeth were unable to bite through...

Instead, it was best to finish it off and bite though the softer parts. Only thinking about it,

made my mouth water... and as I dug in my razor-sharp fangs...
