Ride or Die with you

ZiNuo Pov:

Why did the umbrella turn red? I sighed and walked into the hotel. I looked around to see the tables all filled with people. I slowly walked up the stairs to where the rooms were. I opened the door and laid myself down on the bed. I closed my eyes listening to a familiar melody playing.

"Nuo Er…" a familiar voice called my name. I opened my eyes to see my teacher.

"Ling Jiejie!" I shouted before I hugged her tightly.

"Are you done napping now? We have to start practicing," she smiled as she patted my head.

"Always ready when you are!"

"Let's go," she held her hand out.

We were practicing aim accuracy with a target and control. After a couple of rounds with no breaks, I started to sweat a lot. "Nuo Er, want to stop for a break, and grab some water?"

"As long as Ling Jiejie wants to then I will follow right behind you," I smiled.

"Nuo Er is so sweet. Let's grab you some lunch and we will continue our training all the way till sunset." I nodded in response.

"Ling Jiejie, do you have to leave for real this time?" I asked.

"Yes, Nuo Er, I have to go back to my own sect. They are asking for something important this time. It is a command, not even an invite with a yes or no option."

"Why do you have to leave this time?"

"My father wants me back for some unknown reason. He didn't list it in the letter, but he said it's urgent."

"Ling Jiejie, how do I practice without you," I sighed.

"Here's a book of all the techniques that I have invented and tried out myself. You follow the instructions in the book and you will learn everything I can teach you. If you don't understand some content, use this whistle and QingQing will come," she said as she handed me a thick book and a wooden whistle.

"Do I write letters and QingQing will deliver them to you?" I asked.

"Yes, trust me, QingQing will bring me your letters no matter what. She might seem like a bird who eats all day and does nothing, but she's responsible with her tasks."

"Okay, Jiejie, but can you play that song I love one last time?"

"Of course, dear," she patted my head before she drew her guqin. I laid down beside her as the melody played. When I woke up, I realized that she had already left. The sky was dark and I ran back home.

"Yin ZiNuo! What did I tell you about that lady from the Feng Sect? I told you to stay away from her and what do you do? You go and become a disciple of hers. What are you holding?" my mother shouted at me before grabbing the whistle Ling Jiejie gave me.

"Mother, please give it back to me," my voice trembled as I cried.

"You're not going to get this back anytime." I grabbed onto her sleeve and she yanked it away from me.

"Please mother, give it back to me. It's important to me."

"You are never getting this back and anything that that lady gave to you will be burnt."

"No!" I shouted, I watched the whistle drop into a pit of fire.

"And don't you ever yell at me again, ZiNuo."

I opened my eyes and sat up, tears streamed down my face. I got up from the bed and walked out of the room, down the stairs, and into the streets. It has finally stopped raining. I walked to the clinic to see a familiar face. It was the guy who bumped into me when it was raining.

"Oh, isn't that the gongzi I bumped into? Sorry for the small accident that happened earlier," he laughed awkwardly as he touched his neck.

"Nothing too big to worry about," I laughed.

"What are you here for?" he asked.

"My friend is at this clinic. I'm here to check up on him."

"Oh, well do what you were going to do before I interrupted you." I nodded in response before I walked towards YuHan's room. I opened the door to see YuHan sitting up and he was trying his best to feed himself porridge.

"You need any help, Bai gongzi?" I laughed before walking towards him.

"I can handle this myself."

"Here, give it to me and I'll help you."

Third Pov:

"I told you I don't need your help," YuHan repeated. ZiNuo took the spoon and bowl away from YuHan's hands.

"You're currently a patient who's recovering so leave everything else to me."

"You already helped me enough."

"Are you trying to say thank you?" ZiNuo smiled before putting a spoonful of porridge in front of YuHan's mouth.

"You get what I mean." YuHan drank the porridge from the spoon. "Why are your eyes a bit red?"

"It's nothing, earlier dust was in my eyes so I rubbed my eyes."

"How did you find the cure for the poison?" YuHan asked.

"I have my ways."

"Don't tell me you traded your body away to the spoiled Teng Sect's young miss."

"Of course not, why are you so funny," ZiNuo laughed.

"It seems like a thing you would do."

"Enough about me, how are you feeling?"

"Tired and I have the urge to cough once in a while."

"No blood right?" YuHan shook his head. "The doctor also said there might be side effects even after eating the pill. Hope it's nothing bad."

"I thought I was dead when I blacked out."

"You're not, so don't worry. I don't want you to go near or do anything related to my Sect. They're not the best people," ZiNuo said as he continued to feed YuHan.

"I knew that from the start."

"You know what we should do after you recover. We should find the Ping Sect!"

"You are always in for an adventure. Are you not scared of the possible risks you will encounter?"

"Nope, no fear when I know I'm capable of protecting myself and I also have you, so why would I ever be scared?"

"Don't trust people easily."

"I would go on a ride with the biggest drops before I die, well only with you," ZiNuo smiled. YuHan's face reddens from ZiNuo's words.
