Chapter 4- The Wedding of July to Czarina

Czarina's health is not that in perfect condition. It was her health that made his father decided to send her to the capital city to continue her collegiate training. The physician who checked her up told her father to take care of her possible growing rheumatic heart. Despite Czarina's refusal to stop being a working student in a Catholic school runs by nuns, as her work was so light and easy, still his father insisted. But when she was in the capital city, she was unable to adapt as she was never exposed in her life to a big crown. Neither would be able to adjust to a university life with more than fifty male classmates and the only female among them. She was exclusively hidden from her opposite sex, that she grew up to be aloof, shy and unapproachable. Besides, she had difficulty in going to and fro to that university located at the heart of the commercial busy place of the capital city. It was her first time to be in a crowded place after 17 years of residing in a secluded and peaceful hometown which is more or less 600 kilometers away from it. The I adaptability pushed her to quit schooling and went back home with his father after the wedding of his oldest brother who happened to be assigned to financially support her college life. Her departure from her student life had opened an opportunity to open up her heart for July.

Going back to her health, it was the reason why her eldest brother went back to their hometown to get back his little sister. A secret meeting with her was called for. He told him that he came home to fetch her for her to be able to continue studying to fulfill her dream.

She was hesitant at first. She told her brother that she didn't want to be a woman without dignity... A woman wasted by a man... She told him her plan to be remain a one man woman all through her life.

Having been a law student, his eldest brothers was able to convince her to leave their hometown for the country's capital city.

She agreed.

When she went back home to July, she told him that tomorrow she would be leaving him for the capital city. July cried but agreed. They both cried knowing that they would be separated.

A plan was weaved. July would also be going to the capital city. He was going to work, earn money for them, and would still be meeting furtively.

When the day of separation came, they cried grievously. They seemed to die once they were separated. Their pain of parting away from each other made them missed to track the time of her trip with her brother. When they finally recovered from their misery, they realized and found out that the bus had already left. She luckily missed her trip for the capital city with her brother.

It was God's blessing that these two people would finally be bound as one.

God gave them each other. God forbade them to be husband and wife.

Afraid that July would be mentally deranged out of depression, he mother Nanna Eulania decided to have them a wedding rite. Nanna Eulania's husband prepared the papers needed for the marriage certificate. While Nanna Eulania and July's sister older than him for two years prepared for financial expenses.

A week before the wedding, July's parents encouraged the young couple to inform Czarina's father of their wedding.

Unfortunately, they were chased away with his furious reaction intending to throw the chairs at them. Who would like to be hit with the chairs? No one. Hence, they speedily left Czarina's father's place.

First of August, 1974, Czarina and July became legally tied as one. A blessing from God to welcome them as His procreator had been proclaimed. But their marriage certificate was unsigned by her father. Instead her father's eldest sister and her Mother's older brother signed and consented to he marriage with July.

The reception was attended by so many relatives, friends, and acquaintances. Czarina's only family who attended to witness her wedding reception were her two youngest brothers.

After three months from the time they ran away, it was the time to think for their future life with their children that would soon be brought up. Both decided to leave their place for the capital city. There, they would venture to gowith their married life. It was the last week of their wedding month when they had their trip to the capital city. It was after their wedding that they finally understood that to build a family of their own is never a joke. It was also their wedding that enabled the priest who Knew Czarina pretty well to give them some tips as married couple. It was their wedding that challenged them to be together in health and in sickness, in wealth and in poverty, in strength and in weakness till death do they part be a responsible living and caring life partner and parents of their would be soon children.

Their wedding was an eye opener of the reality that romance would never let them lived for long as wife and husband.

Their wedding implied parental responsibility, partnership fidelity, loyalty, honesty and most of all humility. Their wedding imposed to discard pride, inhibition, selfishness and deception of all sorts. Their wedding urged Czarina to be the modern Penelope. Only that she would never plan to keep quiet on the weaknesses oh her beloved husband.

In the capital city he applied two big known companies, one was a medical institute another was a bus company. While applying, he worked as a roof installer of asbestos. Luckily, both of the companies were interested to hire him. Now, he has to talk with her wife. A wise choice had to be made and they did. They decided that he should be employed in one of the well known medical institution.

Meanwhile, they had to transfer residing from one sibling to another as they do not have thick face in staying with them. Then they decided to rent a rooming house where they would have spent and shared their family life together. However, as July was staying six days in the site he agreed that Czarina should rather stay with her eldest sister. It was this month when he was already completing the requirements needed for his employment. So he had to leave the roofing employment. As a result his earnibf was all spent and became penniless. Yet he had to be with his Czarina. Without even a single centavo he walked more or less 15 kilometers just to be with her.

Not long after, he was at last able to keep his oath during their wedding ceremony up front the priest and all the people who attended it and most especially the oath to Czarina in the presence of God.

He was no longer unemployed. He is proud to provide their needs as he promised to Czarina in the name of God.
