A Difference in Philosophy

One evening, as the Celestial Hawk sailed smoothly through the night sky, Xuan and Ming Yue sat together, discussing their beliefs and approaches to life. Their conversations had become a regular part of the journey, but tonight, Xuan brought up something that surprised her.

Xuan leaning back, a thoughtful look in his eyes and said :"You know, Ming Yue, I've never understood helping others without some benefit in return."

Ming Yue looked at him, slightly taken aback by his bluntness.

Ming Yue: "What do you mean, Xuan? Isn't there value in helping others simply because it's the right thing to do?"

Xuan paused, considering his words carefully, then leaned forward, his expression serious.

Xuan: "Think about it. When we help others without expecting anything back, what are we really gaining? Are we benefiting ourselves, or are we just exhausting our own resources?"

Ming Yue looked thoughtful, trying to understand his perspective.

Ming Yue: "Sometimes, the benefit is simply knowing we've made a positive difference. Not everything needs to be measured in personal gain. Some actions have value beyond the immediate reward."

Xuan raising an eyebrow and said:"But what if that effort is wasted? If there's no personal benefit, no return on what we put in, doesn't that make it a poor use of our time and energy?"

Ming Yue sighed softly, clearly intrigued but uncertain.

Ming Yue: "I suppose it depends on one's perspective. I see helping others as a way to strengthen bonds and create a sense of trust and unity. Sometimes, the benefit comes in forms we don't immediately see."

Xuan nodded, his gaze thoughtful.

Xuan said : "I understand what you're saying, but I can't shake the feeling that too many people waste their energy on others without thinking of themselves. I prefer to focus on what will help me grow stronger."

Ming Yue studied him for a moment, her expression contemplative.

Ming Yue: "That's an interesting way of looking at things, Xuan. I won't say I fully understand it, but I can see that your approach has helped you stay focused on your goals."

Xuan shrugged, a faint smile on his lips.

Xuan: "Maybe it's just how I'm wired. But it's something I've always wondered about whether there's really a point in helping others if there's no benefit involved."

They sat in silence for a moment, both lost in thought. Ming Yue felt challenged by his words, but she also respected his honesty. While they didn't share the same philosophy, their conversation had given her a new understanding of his mindset.

Ming Yue softly said :"I may not agree with you, but I respect your perspective, Xuan. You've given me something to think about."

Xuan: "Likewise, Ming Yue. Maybe there's value in seeing things from your side, too."

They shared a quiet smile, the conversation leaving each of them with a deeper appreciation for the other's beliefs, even if they didn't fully align.

Xuan's unique approach to life had always been straightforward: he would lend his assistance to those who truly captured his interest, typically beautiful women and young girls, while distancing himself from matters he found trivial.

As he spent more time with Ming Yue and others who piqued his interest, his philosophy guided his actions, allowing him to remain focused only on what truly mattered to him.

Xuan said to himself, with a slight grin: "Why complicate things? I'll help where it counts… for those who truly matter to me."
