Chapter 442: Re Unite

[Unranked dungeon]

As everything was swept clean aside from the altar and stone gate of the dungeon, Lilia and the rest of the spectating players were eliminated, from just getting caught up by that explosion which literally obliterated everything in its radius. As all the players were ejected out of the dungeon, everyone was frantic as they don't know what happened and how they got eliminated.

All they remember is that a huge explosion occurred which blurred their vision and the next thing they knew, they were ejected out of the dungeon and unto the crowd waiting outside.

On the otherhand once the players inside the dungeon got ejected out to their original world, various security and medics came to cover them as media rushed in due to the recent incident in the dungeon. News about the unranked dungeon is a precious piece of information that everyone wants, it's structure, environment, and even its difficulty.

Till this day unranked dungeon are a mystery for all the players and government in this world and now that some people managed to reach the final boss, one couldn't help but imagine just how much the players hold in regards to knowledge regarding this unranked dungeon.

Alongside it, due to the recent incident of the dungeon clears inside the unranked dungeon and the surprising 1 on 1 between a player and a boss monster, everyone who participated in this unranked dungeon naturally became a celebrity in just a span of few days. But the one that top everyone off here is none other than Kaido himself. He simply just showcased a whole new level of power to the players present and even made them all realize that soloing a boss is possible if you have enough power to contend against it.

The fight was just phenomenal, due to that unknown to Kaido himself, many begun to aspire to be like him and solo raid a boss on their own. The players wanted to feel the thrill they had felt when watching him fight the boss monster. To be exact he became an idol figure to the players in the city.

But once the media got close to the players that just got ejected out of the unranked dungeon, they realized that Kaido was not among them. Coincidentally they also realized that at this moment the broadcast had not ended yet.

Once everyone realized this, all eyes darts towards the broadcast screen, as they saw Kaido walking towards the altar alone in a world full of devastation and nothingness. In the end Kaido survived the blast alone as he had actually raided the final boss.

While everyone outside the unranked dungeon have mixed feelings when they saw Kaido approaching yhe altar alone, Kaido himself is quite curious about the altar as he approached it in careful steps, while observing each and every nook of the formation embedded within the stone.

There were weird writings in the altar, but despite on how intricate they may seem, Kaido couldn't understand what they meant as he feels the surface of the  formation. In the end he simply looked at the formation for a few seconds, before he went over and stood infront of the stone door. Just like the altar, the stone door also has formation writings embedded unto it, which even confused Kaido even more than before. For a moment Kaido couldn't help but wish Aileen was here to translate the writings on the door.

"What the hell am I supposed to do here? I defeated the boss... so why am I still here with this pile of stones?"

After he muttered that to himself he then went back to the altar as he contemplates on what to do while looking at the formation in the stone. In that moment when he was examining the formation, he then saw a funnel hole at the center of the altar, as he wondered whether there was something that should be put in here. But no matter where he looks, there was literally nothing in his vicinity which fits enough at the funnel hole in the center of formation.

With that he begun to scramble on what to do on this formation within his mind, as he thought up of an idea in his head. In this world filled with mana, it may be possible that in order to activate the formation, one has to literally inject mana into the funnel hole. The moment he thought of this, he couldn't help but be proud of himself while also feeling dumbfounded. After all as an esper and not actually a real player of this world, Kaido has no such thing as mana.

His body was made to adapt to mana, but he never had any talent to wield mana itself, which now became a predicament since mana is needed in order to activate the formation. The concept of mana is the same as the life-force of a human person being used to create magic under his or her command. If that was the case then mana could be anything.

As Kaido thought of this, he then realized that there is something of a life force which is equivalent to mana life force itself. That is human blood. Throughout the history of magic and witchcraft in Kaido's world, magic itself could only be activated through a sacrifice, but such notion within the records is actually force.

To be exact, it wasn't sacrifice that were needed to use magic, but rather a person's life force and the only thing that contains the life force of the person in his world is none other than the blood of the person. There are many depictions in myths, tales, and even stories which depicts that blood is needed to activate magic. So if that were the case, Kaido could replace the need of mana by sacrificing his own blood itself.

So without a second thought, Kaido conjured a sharp windblade on the tip of his finger, as he cut his arm wide,and let the course of his blood flow out from his hand and unto the funnel hole itself.

As soon as his blood made contact with the formation engraved in stone, it then shone bright, as the formation itself was activated in accordance to what's it meant for. Once the formation in the altar lit up, the formation of the door soon lit up right after. As the creaks of the door begun to glow and seemed to envelope itself with pure mana that covered the entirety of the dungeon. Not long after, the mana shot up to the sky to form a tower of mana, as it seemed to connect itself to an unknown dimension.

Due to this the sky darkened, the ground shook, and black lightning begun to appear across the sky without any rain at all.

After for what seems like a few minutes, the mana in the air then stabilizes itself as Kaido stared shock, as he felt a dangerous yet familiar feeling behind the door. Not long after this question that filling his mind was answered.

The moment the door has opened, a surge of familiar dark aura filled the whole dungeon causing it to quake a bit before settling down. With that, just right before the door was fully opened, a females arm suddenly stretched out in mid air, as a woman who has a white hair, red eyes, and quite shorter than him jumped in his brace and hugged him tightly as if in relief that she saw him.

"Kaido! You brat! I finally found you!!!"

The moment Kaido heard those words, he then realized that the woman that was hugging him was none other than Aileene. Of course not long after her arrival, three more figures appeared right infront of him, as Argus, Fengris, and Belial had appeared before him.

"So this is where you were" said by Argus

"I gotta admit going through numerous worlds is kinda an adventure" said by Belial

"This reminded me of the old days back in our world, we actually met you for the first time in a deserted place like this" commented by Fengris

The moment Fengris said those words, Kaido couldn't even break his bubble and tell him that this deserted place isn't actually deserted, but rather a nature that was destroyed by him. But before he could pull himself together to argue back, a connection that he had lost once, finally bonded once more as the voice of Calamity rung out on his head.

(Calamity:"I've been looking everywhere for you! Do you know how much trouble I got myself into due to you going missing?")

Upon hearing all the familiar voices once more, Kaido then let down his guard as he smiled and replied to them.

"Thank you! Thank you for finding"

In response to his words, everyone just smiled, as Aileene hung her hand around his neck as she pushed back, which forced Kaido to grab her waist so that she won't fall.

"Of course you should be! Anyway since we found you, then we should really go back now through the door that we went through just now"

As Aileen said this words, Kaido suddenly realized the fact that there should be multitudes of monster behind the door, as he questioned himself what happened to them if his friends were right behind it instead. But before this question could be answered, the door then disappeared into mana particles, which caused everyone to be shock which is followed by a certain reminder from the system that the dungeon was closing and everyone inside would be ejected out and rewarded from clearing the unranked dungeon.

Dungeon is closing, ejecting all lifeforms that doesn't belong to the dungeon outside its perimeter.

Before anyone could say a thing about it at all, everyone was ejected outside the dungeon, as Kaido and his company found themselves in the middle of the city, currently surrounded by the media itself.

The moment Kaido appeared with people that had walked out of the door instead of the monsters, hundreds of flashes snapped at them nonstop as reporters tried their best to interview Kaido. After all this was the player who had gone toe to toe against a raid boss monster alone and somewhat showcased his power for the whole world to see. Just by the fact that his power held such destructive capability, anyone could guess that his overall stats are S-class despite being a low rank player due to being new to the profession. A low rank player with S-class skill, a complete underdog story, such short can literally attract numerous media.

What's more the picture of the star player for this unranked dungeon being hugged by a woman who held quite a breathtaking exotic beauty of pure white skin and hair, with red eyes that attract any onlookers, can literally cause controversy. In fact all the people that Kaido had brought back with him are quite attractive. With such group and Kaido at the center, they could almost be mistaken for a popular group of actors hanging out. That's just how their beauty literally rivals celebrity in their field.

"Player Kaido! Over here please! Give us a bit of your time!"

"Player Kaido! Answer my questions please"

"This is *** news media, would you please alot some time for an interview!"

"Over here player Kaido"

"Face here!!!"

As the reporters tried to rush towards him which caused the security to tighten their defenses, the association agents the confidently walked towards Kaido as they plan to thank him for his effort.

"You must be player Kaido! Our player association wants to promote your rank higher since you showcased skills which is apparent to be abive your rank, what you achieved today is something unimaginable, so we would like to extend our thanks to you for a dinner tonight"

"You... you want a meet up dinner?"

"Yes!"

"... I would really love to, unfortunately I'm not into that kind of thing, so maybe you can repay on another form"

"I see... understood! Well tell us anything if you need something, we will grant you request no matter how hard it is"

After that light exchange between the agents, Kaido then tried to pass through them, as the agents quickly stopped Aileen from going any further and added another a mouthful of reminder.

"We allow Player Kaido to retreat for the day, after all we know that you have been in a hectic fight inside the dungeon... unfortunately the same can't be said to your four companions, since they came out of the dungeon and is suspected to be a monster in disguise as a human, we then have no choice but to interrogate them for the safety of the people in the city"

Hearing that Kaido quickly grabbed the arm of the agent, as he glared at him trhough his shades.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Player Kaido! I advise you to abide by the rules of the association"

"The rules of the association can eat shit for all I care"

As Kaido and the agents of the association stared down at each other, Lilia, Shelly, and Alessandro on the ither hand felt somewhat unease in the tense atmosphere between. But as if weighing the pros and cons, the agent of the association then stepped ba k as he let Aileen and the others pass through.

With that, Kaido then lead the others away from the eyes of the public, as he took a roundabout way to regroup with Lilia and the rest. Of course at the same moment Lilia received his intention to meet up in a different place through the use of the systems link messages.

When Kaido left together with his companions, one of the agents among the association group, then approached the agent who talked to Kaido and asked.

"Sir! Why did you let them go? The president of the association would really scold us for this"

".... I let them go because it's the right decision at that moment"

"Huh?"

"Tell me, are you confident that you could take him down in case the situation escalate between him and the association?"

"... I... "

"You can't right? That's exactly the reason why I let them go, he is too strong to be antagonized... well if you manage to solo a boss of an unranked dungeon, maybe you could stand a chance against him"

After that the agents of the association relayed their decision to their president, as they clean up the venue.

After a few hours of struggling to get away from the eyes of the media, Lilia, Shelly, and Alessandro then finally manage to escape them as they changed their clothes and went to the place where Kaido had told then the location for their meet up. So for anyone's information, all three of them were so shocked to see the place where Kaido had used for their meetup location.

The place itself is actually a casino where many rich people in the city gather to showoff their wealth and gamble away till their hearts content. A casino is a facility for certain types of gambling. Casinos are often built near or combined with hotels, resorts, restaurants, retail shops, cruise ships, and other tourist attractions. Some casinos are also known for hosting live entertainment, such as stand-up comedy, concerts, and sports.

Such a place of luxury is the place where Kaido had said to meet up. Due to that the three's casual attire is so out of place in comparison to the branded clothes that everyone are wearing.

"What the hell?!?! Lilia! Are you sure that you got the right place?" Asked by Shelly

"Huh? Um... yeah! That's what it said on the map when you search it through the number" replied by Lilia who is clearly flustered by this situation

"There must have been some kind of a mistake! Check again!" Said by Shelly

"Guys! Why not check out the place first? Who knows maybe this is really the place that Kaido had told us to meet up with him" said by Alessandro

"Ale.... your serious? You want us to go in there in this attire!!!" Pointed out by Shelly as she looked at their casual clothes

"Well we could, there is no rule that you can't wear casual clothes in a casino" replied by Alessandro

"I... "

With no way to retort, Alessandro pulled both Lilia and Shelly into the casino as some eyes from the wealthy people often took a glance at their direction. After all with their casual clothes, they really do stand out in this place full of rich people. But simple glances were all they received, as everyone who bypassed them were so kind enough to greet them with joy in their faces. What's more even the employees of the place served them with respect despite their different attire from the others. In that moment, Shelly's opinion of the place was literally changed.

"I gotta say! This place ain't that bad at all"

"Well it is a new experience for us" said by Alessandro

"Putting that aside, where the heck can we find Kaido?" Asked by Lilia totally freaking out

As Lilia asked this question, one of the employee approached them from behind as she took their attention and asked.

"Are you the guys that is sir Kaido is waiting for?"

".... Yes?" Replied by Lilia in confusion

"Thats great! Come follow me! I'll lead you to him"

The moment the employee said that, Lilia then looked at the others with confused face as she repeatedly asked.

"Sir? What the heck was that about?"

Following the employee, they then finally went pass through the gambling area, as they went up the stairs  and pass through the place where many girls were dancing in front of the rich men and unto the third floor of the casino which is reserved for the VIP. The moment they reached this place, Lilia and the other quickly felt out of place once more since this VIP area is completely different dimension in comparison to the people in the first floor.

If the people from the first floor to the second floor are rich people, then the third floor are for the richest people which is accompanied by great authority and power. A very important person (VIP or V.I.P.) or personage is a person who is accorded special privileges due to their high social rank, status, influence, or importance. Examples include celebrities, heads of state or government, other high-ranking politicians, or any other socially notable person who receives special treatment for any reason. The special treatment usually involves separation from common people, and a higher level of comfort or service.

In that moment when they entered one of the VIP room Kaido could be seen sitting comfy on one of its chairs as he drank some wine from the table served in front of him.
