Chapter 458: The Fight For The Whole World To See V

Of course Argos attack can be devastating as it is, however throughout their experience where their loves are always being hunted by strong beings, Argos and the rest knew that such an attack was not enough to take down Janus. They can't explain how he will do it, but their senses are telling them that this fight was far from over.

After that attack just like they expected Janus stood still in the air, as if he was stepping into space, while looking down on everyone up above the air. But even though Janus survived that attack, he is also quite injured, as he was breathing heavily while looking disheveled.

Seeing his state, Kaido immediately understood his situation. After all he was also in such a state numerous times when he was fighting for his life. Even though he has an ability that is close to omnipotence with all the matter in the universe under his command, he was still human and as a human, he can never surpass a human's limit.

Simply put in exchange for such a powerful ability, there would naturally be backlash that is happening on one's body. In fact the backlash can be anything. It can be fatigue, sleepiness, mental illness, sickness, detoriation, life force.

For Kaido as payment for his power, his sanity was slowly being withered away. The only reason why he was still sane up until this moment was all because the power of being a child of Calamity greatly offset his backlash, without it he may as well be a monster who lost all reason at this point.

Seeing this situation, Kaido then quickly made his move, as he made Argos occupy Janus attention, while he secretly climb up the skyscraper as fast as he can.

Thankfully with Argos experience in dealing with the phasing ability, he somewhat farewell against Janus and somewhat manage to stand his ground agaisnt him in comparison to Lilia and Aileen.

But it didn't take long when Janus realized that the phasing ability was useless against Argos, as he quickly changed his strategy when fighting Argos.

With that in a blink of an eye, multiple sharp slashes assaulted Argos, as the person himself literally didn't see the attack at all. More likely Janus initiated an invisible attack towards Argos.

Due to that, Argos quickly distanced himself away from Janus, which gave time for the latter to conjure a ball of flame on his palm, before shooting it upwards, exploding, and causing numerous fireball attacks to rain down on the sky like a meteor shower.

With that multiple explosions happened all over the area which literally occupied everyone to dodge the attacks. However unbeknownst to Janus, Kaido managed to reach the top of the skyscraper as fast as he can in that short interval, as he quickly launched himself off the roof and dragged down Janus from the sky and crash to the ground.

"You... I almost wondered where were you"

"Well here I am"

As Kaido greeted Janus in that way, he then proceeded to pummel him down with a punch to the face, before repeatedly throwing in punches towards him. But the moment Kaido was about to throw its 15th consecutive punch, Janus then quickly pushed him away using a type of invisible attack, which threw Kaido as far as he can see.

Just as he was about to get up after getting pummeled down by Kaido and spitting out a broken tooth, Aileen then suddenly appeared behind him, as she smacked a whole pillar on him and further pinned him to the ground.

In the next moment, Janus then destroyed the pillar, as Aileen quickly pulled back of what was left of the pillar and threw it towards him.

In response to this, Janus turned the remnants into smithereens with a snap of his finger, which gave way for Aileen to sneak in beside him and delivering a powerful blow to the face.

Stunned by that attack, Aileen then proceeded to punch him down once more, before she kicked him away which blasted him through multiple buildings.

On the otherside of the buildings, Argos was already in wait, as he imbued his claws with mana and sent out a razor sharp wave slash, which immediately cuts across Janus body and spilled some of his blood in the area. But just as expected he quickly recovered from it and attacked Argos.

This time however Aileen somehow manage to catch up, as she drop from above and launch a kick towards him. However Janus pushed his limits once more, as he used the phasing ability to dodge Aileen's kick, before quickly grabbing her collar and throwing her towards the building beside them.

But the moment he did that, Argos then immediately rushed towards him as he tried to tackle him down, only to for Janus to switch their position, and conjuring a chain to tie up on Argos neck.

Increasing his strength, he then pulled on the chains as he slammed Argos towards the nearest parking area, before sending in multiple ranged attacks from his palm.

Surprisingly Aileen then managed to get a wire from one of the wiring inside the building she crash unto, as she used it to catch Janus by the ankle and pull him down to the ground with a crash.

After Janus got pulled down, Lilia then suddenly came put from his shadow as she stabbed his back multiple times, before getting punched by Aileen when he tried to push Lilia away.

Gritting his teeth as he endured the pain, he then sent a shockwave to blow both Aileen and Lilia away only to get razed down when Argos left him no room to catch his breath and decided to attack him.

This situation was really dangerous, if Kaido and his group kept up this momentum of ganging up on him, it won't be long till he is exhausted out and die.

It would have been fine if Kaido's group is a bunch of nobodies and weakling, however they are so strong that they can overpower him and his whole team. This information was not included in the database, as far as they know Kaido was not affiliated to any group.

So begs the question, where did this group came from? Why weren't they in the records? Why were they left out?.

As this questions bothered him, Janus made another decision for the success of the operation, he need to find his other teammates.

With a single thought, he used his psychic energy to grab Argos and slamming him unto the walls, before he quickly teleport himself away from there and used minimal spatial movement to run away while searching for his team members.

Upon seeing this Kaido, Aileen, and Lilia gave chase, only for them to get obstructed by multiple buildings coming into life as they turned into a golem. But just as Janus thought he got away, Argos suddenly launched himself up into the sky using his wings, before he dived down towards him in order to ground him for good.

However Janus anticipated his attack, as he quickly switched their position with a single snap of his finger, before pinning him down with multiple iron bars that pierced through his body.

Not long after he finally found both Lucian and Ekaterina fighting against Belial. In a fit of surprise attack, Janus dropped down and ambushed Belial from behind, as he applied his phasing ability unto him and buried him deep into the ground from which he phased through and completely trapping him underneath multiple layers of hard concrete.

The moment Belial was out of the picture and both Lucian and Ekaterina saw Janus, they both felt relief as they finally have a breather after fighting such troublesome opponent.

"Janus! You have no idea how much you saved us" said by Lucian

"Thanks for the save Janus, but what about on your side? Since your here, does that mean you manage to take care of your side?" Asked by Ekaterina

"Not yet! Apparently they are more tenacious than I expected... its too much for me alone to tale care of them, we will need everyone's powers to handle them" answered by Janus

"Is that so? Don't worry we'll help you" said by Lucian

"Thats great! We need to be quick Madrigal is currently holding down the line for me, and I'm pretty sure holding them back is also too much for her"

As Janus said those words, both Luciam and Ekaterina positioned themselves as they let Janus touch their back in order for him to teleport them to where Madrigal is located. However after some time, they suddenly realized something different as they felt that their own power is being taken from them from behind.

Realizing that instead of teleporting them towards the battle and Janus is actually stealing their abilities , both of them looked at Janus with shocked expressions as they tried to turned around and push Janus away.

However their body's strength was also being stealed by Janus, making it hard for them to even move around as their body weakens.

"Janus... what's the... meaning of this?" Asked by Lucian

"Didn't I just told you? Were going to need everyone's power to deal with them, so I'm taking them all, after only I have the chance to stand agaisnt them, so entrust everything to me"

"This.... is not what.. we talked about... you traitor"

"I'm not a traitor, I'm just utilizing all the resources needed, don't worry I'll return everything after I'm done... you'll thank me later"

In that moment Ekaterina screamed out as she felt like a part of herself is being stolen from her.

"No please! Don't do this! Please"

Seeing her in this state, Lucian couldn't help but grit his teeth as he confronted Janus.

"Janus! You bastard..."

After he said those words both him and Ekaterina suddenly lost their consciousness, as their body was eeeped out of their strength and their powers taken from them. Now that both Lucian's power and Ekaterina's power power are absorb by him, it was now time for him to get the remaining ability from his last team member, Tomas.

But just as he sat down both Lucian and Ekaterina to the side, Tomas surprisingly crashed through the wall behind him, as he towered before Janus with his whole body riddled with Injuries.

"Janus didn't expect to see you here"

"Tomas, the man I'm looking for"

"What happened here?" Asked by Tomas as he noticed both Lucian and Ekaterina were knocked out

"Both of them are exhausted after fighting the enemy.... the enemy is currently buried down there trapped" said by Janus as he pointed at the direction where he buried Belial

"I see..."

"What about you? You don't look too good yourself, we're you defeated?"

"Me? How cam I be defeated? I won of course and all of these injuries are just shallow wounds, nothing to scoff about"

"Thats great... really great! Come let's put both Lucian and Ekaterina to a safe place first before we rendezvous with Madrigal"

"Alright! But I'm curious about something Janus"

"Yeah? What is it?"

"What the hell are you doing.... traitor?"

The moment Tomas said those words, Janus eyes then contracted into shock, as he looked back at Tomas, only to get punched to the face and blown away by Tomas attacks.

"I'm not stupid enough that you can trick me Janus, I saw everything from afar... what you did to Madrigal and what you did to these two, thanks to my esper ability I really have a sharp eyesight"

"I see... so you knew, and yet you approached me, you should have ran away if you knew" said by Janus as he massaged his chin after getting hits squarely

"And do you think I'm the kind of guy that would ran away from you? You better give me a good explanation why you did all of these Janus, cause if you don't, then don't blame me if I break you apart"

Hearing Tomas angered voice, Janus simply gave him a non-chalant look as he answered.

"Its nothing much really, I just concluded that I don't need any of you any longer to take them down, all I need is myself and the whole teams ability... cause I believe, I'm the only one who can stop them"

The moment Tomas heard Janus answer, he felt something inside him snap, as he quickly raised up his hand and smashed it down towards Janus.

"You betrayed us just for that reason? Bullshit!"

"Its for the greater cause, you wouldn't understand" replied by Janus as he avoided Tomas attack by blinking away.

However despite that Tomas simply rushed towards him in a single step as he grabbed an iron rod stuck on a concrete block along the way and swung it towards Janus, unfortunately Janus simply phased through Tomas attack and countered back with a shockwave punch.

After that shockwave explosion happened, Janus eyes contracted into a shock as he was surprised that Tomas was able to tank the attack without being pushed back at all.

In that moment of surprise Tomas then swung the concrete block once more, forcing Janus to phase through it once again, before he quickly punched towards the ground which caught Janus off guard and be blown away from the shockwave of the force from Tomas attack.

Skipping steps to get away from Tomas, the latter then quickly caught up to him in a single breath, as he swung the concrete towards him once more, only for Janus to phased through it once again and countering back by throwing a pebble towards Tomas and using matter alteration to suddenly change the size and weight of the pebble to the degree of a gigantic boulder. Because of that Tomas was caught off guard as he got smacked away and crash towards the other building opposite of them.

The moment Tomas crash into a different building, he then suddenly heard Tomas screaming out his name in anger, as the mana around the area suddenly darkens and Tomas came out of the buildings window, as he has fully transformed into a type of lycan that can only be seen in legends.

Lycans, commonly referred to as werewolves in folklore and mythology, are mythological beings capable of shifting between human and wolf forms. The term "lycan" originates from the Greek word lykos, meaning wolf. Lycans are typically depicted as humans who undergo a transformation, either voluntarily or involuntarily, usually triggered by the full moon.

Their transformation is characterized by an increase in physical strength, heightened senses such as smell and hearing, and the appearance of wolf-like traits—sharp claws, elongated fangs, fur-covered bodies, and lupine features. In some lore, they are depicted as retaining human intelligence and personality in wolf form, while in others, they succumb to primal instincts, driven by a hunger for flesh.

The origin of lycanthropy varies in myths. It can be a curse, a hereditary trait, or the result of being bitten or scratched by another lycan. Some traditions attribute the condition to divine punishment or witchcraft. Lycans are often associated with vulnerabilities to silver and an aversion to religious symbols, such as crosses or holy water.

However in this case this transformation is all due to Tomas Esper ability, meaning all manner of a lycans weakness in the myths and legends doesn't exist in his category, he has all the benefits but not its weakness.

"Janus!!! I'll kill you!!!!"

As Tomas spat put those words, he then jumped from one building after another, as he reached the floor where Janus is currently located, only for his charge to get phase through when the latter saw through his intention.

However Tomas didn't give up at all, as he swung his claws around, only for Janus to immediately duck down and deliver an uppercut. Unfortunately Tomas saw through this and quickly pulled his head to the side in order to dodge the uppercut.

Unknown to him this is exactly what Janus was aiming from as he quickly grabbed Tomas head from behind and pulled it down, before he smashed it towards his knee.

Hit by that sudden change of attack, Tomas quickly smacked away Janus, causing the latter to be blown away, and appear before him the next second by using a quick teleportation ability.

In the next moment Janus carved a singular hole in multiple layers of the building using matter alteration, as he dropped all the carved out layers towards Tomas, getting the person himself buried under the rubble of concrete.

Afterwards he then quickly jumped up on the whole he made in each floor, and continued to move upwards using some kind of levitation.

At that moment Tomas broke out from underneath the rubble of concrete, as he angrily searched for Janus, only to realize that he had already flown upwards on the hole that he had carved out. Without a second thought, he then jumped out of the rubble and jumped upwards from one floor after another using the reflexes of a lycan himself.

Upon seeing that Tomas was catching up to him, Janus simply smiled, as he reached out his hand and directly controlled the whole building itself. Using matter alteration he then shifted the shape of the building and slowly squeeze it in as if he was squeezing a towel.

The moment he reached the top floor of the building and got out of it, he then used matter alteration at full throttle as he shifted its shape into a size a car by jamming one floor after another and crushing everything that was inside it. Naturally Tomas was caught up in it as the floors started crushing him, rendering him unable to move until the whole weight of the building got stuck on him making it hard even for him to move an inch.

Unable to scream, unable to move, Tomas felt Janus moving the car sized boulder, as he raised it up into the air and throw it towards the nearest museum.

After that because such reckless act manage to hit a combustible engine in the museum coupled with few loose wires from the crash, as spark was made causing a huge explosion to erupt and the whole museum up in flames.
