Leanunya sat up and stretched, having woken at dawn. She looked over to the still sleeping Nagos and stood. She called out "Nagos get up. Let's get going" Leanunya then started to get her stuff gathered to go including gathering the meat slices from the zarowl Nagos had killed the night before. Once she finished putting the meat in a bag she went to the still sleeping Nagos.
She scowled and unceremoniously kicked him off and out of the bed this time for sure waking him. She always did this if he didn't wake the first time she called him to get up. She looked at him coldly as he sat up on the floor, a pouty look on his face. This look only made her even more irritated. She had discovered while training him what a disappointment he really was.
Nagos had hesitated his first kill and then continued to disappoint her. She had originally thought of taking him as an apprentice but after two months she knew it wouldn't be. He had learned to fight and survive but other than doing only what he needed he did no more. He never pushed himself or challenged himself unless she made him. He had no fighting spirit. That didn't mean he was weak but it did make her not want to take him as an apprentice.
Leanunya could of course see a use for him as an informant but that would only happen if he was willing to be. Though she could easily get information from others with a bit of threatening it would be easier to have someone willingly give her information. She didn't dislike Nagos but she was disappointed by him. She of course still trained him to survive so now when she returned him to his father she didn't have to worry about him.
After she dropped him off with his father she was going to try her luck at getting into the king's castle and killing him. Though if she couldn't even get into the castle she would give up her goal for a few more years. She was still determined to kill the king though. She knew her sneaking skills still needed work but she was determined. She knew she would accomplish her goal eventually.
Leanunya focused her mind on the present as Nagos said he was finally ready to go. She then led the way out of the shack and towards the edge of the forbidden forest. She walked swiftly holding her own bag of stuff as well as the bag of meat. She was much stronger and taller than Nagos so she carried both bags. She walked silently carrying both bags thinking about just flying both of them to Rynion. She mainly had this idea because she wanted to both get there faster and to stretch her wings.
She was a good flyer but she spent most of her time walking so as not to be discovered as a cattagon. Leanunya did enjoy flying though as it was relaxing. Sadly, she never got to fly often due to being a cattagon and if others knew she would have even more people trying to kill her. She could be cautious in the extreme sometimes but other times she wasn't. When it came to killing, she had no reservations about it.
Leanunya decided against flying them as she walked swiftly. She did stretch her wings out as she walked though. She didn't bother about Nagos seeing her wings as he knew what she was. He also knew what would happen if he ever told anyone what she was. She would either silence him permanently by making him a mute or kill him or make him suffer a few more years in the forbidden forest to make him learn. She always put her own safety first before anyone else's. If she had to, she would kill anyone to keep herself safe.
Though with children she would avoid it if she could. Even still she wouldn't leave a threat for the future either. She had learned her lesson from when she left zarowl pups alive after she killed their parents. She still had the scars from them. Since then, she has always eliminated any future threat. Though at times she saw no future threat from someone so she wouldn't bother with them. But at times she couldn't see a threat so she knew to keep her guard up.
She trained hard when she trained. It was both to get better and to protect herself. She still had trouble escaping wolferan and she accounted it to that she wasn't getting stronger though in reality Wolferan was getting better as well as her. They were about evenly matched when it came to speed but coming to strength Leanunya knew he was stronger. This was the reason she never turned to face him. She would only run and outwit him to get away.
She shook her head of her thoughts as she walked. It was starting to get dark already. They had walked to the edge of the forbidden forest and once they left it they would need to find a place to sleep for the night. She was thinking of a small clearing but seeing the clouds in the sky decided to try and find a small cave or thick canopied tree. She felt the air temperatures start to get warmer and knew they were leaving the forest. Leanunya started to search for a place to stay for the night.
Leanunya spotted a good tree to sleep under and went over, speaking up "we'll sleep here for the night" she saw Nagos nod before dropping and laying on his back under the tree. She shook her head before sitting down leaning against the tree. She tossed him some jerky and grabbed a slice of it for herself. She started to eat it thinking.
Leanunya finished her jerky and closed her eyes to rest while she could. She guessed it was around spring time but wasn't positive since it was always cold in the forbidden forest. She also knew it had been several months since she had last left the forbidden forest so her understanding of what season it was, was off. She did figure it was sometime around spring though. But whether it was early or late spring was different. Leanunya let out a soft breath letting her thoughts go to get some sleep. She eventually fell asleep.
