The statistics had dramatically increased. However, the same applied to the entire system. To better understand this, it's worth looking at the status of our hero.
A normal person, your typical John Smith, would have statistics hovering around the value of 10. Such a score would indicate a man in peak condition but not engaged in professional sports. Just regular visits to the gym to maintain a slightly muscular physique. Athletes and superhumans could achieve statistics at the level of 20 because, to reach the limits of human capabilities, around 50, extreme training was required—so intense that even Frank Castle wouldn't manage it. An alternative was undergoing an experiment, as in the case of Captain America, who was considered the pinnacle of human potential.
Next in the hierarchy of statistics were those with extraordinary abilities, such as aliens, mutants, Nohumans, or, to put it simply, everyone else, excluding the weaker races in the universe. That was a lot of explaining, but back to the point—our hero was like a modern-day Captain America. However, not quite. Thanks to passive skills that increased his Dexterity as he leveled up, his statistics surpassed the human level.
Moreover, he had no genetic or physical limitations. He could grow without restrictions, although he faced many challenges. More on that later. Captain America possessed a peak human body, and our hero suspected that Captain would have all statistics at the level of 50, except for intelligence and magical power. Honestly, he would lose to him in every case due to the vast experience he possessed. Even though he himself had skills beyond the norms, they still remained basic and imperfect.
Masterful Acrobatics—a skill that proved to be one of the most practical. Now our hero could do anything that came to his mind. Somersaults forward and backward, and even climbing to the roof, grabbing ledges, bricks, and rhymes—all of this was almost effortless. He climbed to the roof of a nearby apartment block, which was truly exciting. He noticed a few broken pots at the base of the building, as well as losing a few clothes and one cat, which fortunately fell onto the balcony of the apartment below. Hehe...
However, despite the possibility of evolution, he couldn't take advantage of it due to what Vega stated—insufficient magical power and a lack of external or internal energy sources. She mentioned many other examples of sources that could push him beyond this limit, but in his apartment, he couldn't do anything about it. Similar limitations applied to other skills. Moreover, depending on the type of power, he could gain a completely different skill. For instance, if he sold his soul to Mephisto and gained the power of Ghost Rider, he could become the "Infernal Acrobat"—though he had come up with that name himself, he understood what it meant.
One thing worth mentioning was a skill he acquired through practice—"Superhuman Fall Resistance." By falling during exercises or acrobatics, he gained this skill and then upgraded it to its limits, which, like previous skills, required additional effort from him.
The remaining skills had the same limit, but in short, he achieved a really athletic physique that rivaled Captain America. Still, he thought he needed to create a few additional skills to surpass him.
He also wanted to raise his intelligence level, not only to be able to turn into Tony Stark and create interesting technologies. However, the only book he had besides newspapers was a cat atlas. After reading this 400-page work, he gained a skill that helped him understand feline bodies and behavior. Although the remaining knowledge was instinctual, he could easily guess many things in this field. While this knowledge wasn't particularly useful, the intelligence bonus was a nice touch.
However, putting aside these boring theories and the sadness caused by limitations, our hero had no intention of going to sleep despite the late hour. It was around 3 a.m., and he couldn't sit still. He decided to go out into the city, but first, he would change his appearance by playing tailor.
As the base of his outfit, he chose a black leather jacket, simple and devoid of unnecessary metal embellishments. He quickly sprayed a fictional symbol on the back of the jacket—a green scorpion. Initially, he wanted to draw a spider but decided he didn't want to be known as a copy of Spider-Man. A villain named Scorpion didn't exist in this reality, so his decision was rather clever.
His only T-shirt that hadn't ripped after putting it on was completely black, with no additional embellishments. On his legs, he wore dark jeans and slightly tight sneakers.
Next came the mask, and here he encountered a real problem because he didn't have a needle or thread. He decided to improvise—he used a torn, dark red T-shirt to create an eye mask in the style of Stain from "My Hero Academia." It turned out surprisingly well, although his ugly face was still visible. Nevertheless, the mask was meant to serve its purpose, especially while he wandered around the city at night.
After putting on the headphones connected to his phone, he turned on the Daily Bioggle station. Thanks to "Super Jump," he scaled the roof, gaining the ability to jump over 20 meters—which shouldn't be possible using only the human body. Jumping between New York buildings was an extraordinary experience, especially with JJ Jamson playing a song from Cyberpunk Endrunners, adding a new depth to it all.
As he leaped between the lower buildings, finding the height somewhat dull, he noticed a rather classic situation—two suspicious thugs with knives flanking a woman. She was quite tall, with fiery red, voluminous hair that reflected the light from nearby apartments. She wore a dark coat. Without waiting any longer, he decided to take action.
>Booommm...
"Damn it, impractical... Damn... Why did I do that... Damn... It hurts... but I didn't break anything. I don't have healing abilities... Shit." Wade mindlessly executed a superhero jump; it wasn't the best way to land, but it certainly got his attention.
When he looked up, he noticed two thugs focusing on him. It was hard not to notice such an intense impact on the ground, especially since one of the men held the woman from behind, his gaze fixed on Wade, while the other, not waiting for anything, slowly approached him with a knife drawn, ready to attack. However, Wade felt the excitement take control over him—an exhilarating feeling that made adrenaline course through his veins. He couldn't recall the term that described this feeling, but he knew it was pleasurable.
In his mind, a quick analysis of the situation unfolded. Every sense sharpened, as if time itself slowed around him. He knew he had to act; he felt it was the moment he had been waiting for. The rising risk, the intensity of the situation surrounding him, and the fight for survival were within reach. He needed to find a way to gain the upper hand.
Mission
[Fight against ordinary thugs.]
At all costs, save the woman. [Reward: 1 lottery ticket]
Bonus Tasks: (Complete these tasks to earn an additional reward.)
1.Eliminate the thugs and call the police.
2.Stun the thugs by breaking their limbs, leaving the rest to the victim.
3.Kill the thugs, assault the woman, and rob all three individuals.
[Bonus Reward: 1 lottery ticket]
He understood that he had complete freedom of action—he could save the woman and, in the process, earn an additional reward if he decided on one of the three options. He had a bit of a hero in him, and the prospect of earning a bonus only fueled his determination.
When the thug turned his gaze on him, his lips formed a threat: "And that was your mistake, little Hero." Despite those words, Wade felt a wave of excitement.
Not wanting to wait for events to unfold, he took a risk. He grabbed the lid of a trash can and, like a frisbee, threw it toward the second thug, hitting him on the wrist. This was a fatal mistake for the thug who had pressed the knife to the woman's throat. His arm broke as if it were made of butter, and pain twisted his face. The man and the woman fell to the ground, and she, suddenly feeling pain and shock, recoiled and leaned against the wall, trying to catch her breath.
The thug screamed in agony, and his companion, seeing what had happened, turned around in anger, ready to attack. "You'll pay for that, you bastard!" he shouted, his eyes burning with fury and a desire for revenge.
However, Wade, realizing that fighting them was easier than he had expected, decided to use the opportunity to acquire a new skill. Before the thug could close the distance, Wade assumed a defensive stance. The man lunged at him with full force, the knife glinting in the light of the street lamps. Wade deftly blocked the strike with his left hand while simultaneously pivoting his body to launch a counterattack.
His fist connected with the thug's side, causing surprise. The thug staggered but quickly managed to regain his balance. When Wade noticed that his opponent was chaotic, he seized the moment. Quick as a snake, he delivered a blow to the stomach and then swiftly blocked an incoming attack from the second thug, who aimed a strike upward. The thug's arm reached high, and Wade skillfully parried the attack, holding the thug's arm and delivering a strike to his ribs.
The thug, terrified by Wade's agility, backed off, and Wade felt a surge of confidence. Instead of panicking, he decided to turn this fight into an opportunity to learn. As he grabbed the thug by the wrists, he used minimal force to break both of his arms. The knife that fell from the thug's hand he managed to catch and tuck into his pocket, his heart racing, fueled by adrenaline.
Before the thug hit the ground, Wade kicked him in the stomach, sending him toward the trash can. He watched indifferently as his opponent sank into chaos, but the adrenaline made him want to continue. Spotting the second thug, who seemed to be in shock, he quickly rushed forward and delivered a blow to his head.
The thug crumpled to the ground, and Wade hoped he had knocked him out, although he wasn't sure. Now, not wanting to play the hero any longer, he began to climb to the roof, roaring with excitement. Despite the proximity of the fire escape, the feeling of euphoria made the choice of climbing even more thrilling. In his ears echoed his own laughter, and in the background, he could hear Vega's notifications and the hum of the city, which now seemed to pulse to an entirely different rhythm.
