The cat

The cat awake from a shake from the ground underneath her. Wait. It wasn't the ground. It was Sukino. She was sleeping on Sukino. All night!

He was surprisingly comfortable. The cat got up and walked over to the entrance. She laid down in a patch of sun that shone through the vines.

She watched Sukino leave the cave. He probably went out to hunt. Actually she needed to do that herself, but she was too lazy to.

I'll just do it tonight, the cat thought. What harm will that do?

She would go hunting instead of listening to Sukino and Alex talk. Though Sukino had a lovely sounding voice.

The cat awoke to the sound of footsteps. The sun was setting and she was now laying in the shadow of the vines. It was cold, too cold. But she didn't want to move.

She laid there, without a care in the world, as the footsteps got closer. Soon she could tell there was three sets of them. Did Alex bring someone else? The footsteps didn't sound like Sukino's. Soon she could here the conversation.

"The thing was huge! About up to here.... I can't reach that high. I shot at it and it ran away and fell down. I assumed it died, but that monster got right back up with a little help from that boy!"

"Ok...?"

"It was a giant skeleton monster!"

What was this conversation she was hearing? Not wanting to hear it anymore, she moved her self to the very edge of the sunlight. Sadly, she could still hear them.

"It came from this direction. Maybe it lives in a cage.... oh look! A cave!"

Oh no. That's not good.

"You cops should go look for that thing in there!"

A cop was walking up to the entrance of the cave. What should she do? She decided just to lay there and let things happen. Hopefully the cop will believe this was just a home of a cat.

Wait. She forgot.

She was covered in blood.

Oh no. That might change things. She had to get up now, and move into the shadows so that the cop doesn't see the blood. She stood up and stepped back into the shadows as soon as the cop moved the vines and walked in.

She hissed when the cop stepped forward into the cave. The cop jumped in shock at the sound.

"Oh! Thank god! It's just a cat!" He called.

"Just a cat?" The shooter asked, not willing to believe that was true. "Why would a cat live in a cave?"

"Shelter? I don't know, Daniel, but there's no monster here, just a damn cat. So just give up, there is no monster here." The cop was tired of the shooter's bullshit, as was the cat. Thought he wasn't wrong, the monster did live here.

She heard more footsteps approaching. Then she heard another conversation start between the shooter and the boy. The cop, hearing the commotion, walked out of the cave.

"What's going on here?" Alex asked.

"Daniel here thinks there's a monster living in this cave," the cop responded. The other cop was strangely silent.

"What? A monster? Ha!" Alex laughed. "Who would believe that? Ain't no monster here. This is me and my girlfriends spot. The only monster here is me."

"Alright then," the cop responded. "We'll take out leave then."

The cat believed that Jessie was here. Other wise this excuse wouldn't work, and the cops wouldn't have given up. Alex and Jessie then walked into the cave. Sitting on the log they waited for Sukino.

While they waited they did something the cat couldn't really turn into words. They say very close together, and their heads were pressed together. There mouths were opening and closing over each other. Just what the hell were they doing? The cat wondered outside weirded out by the strange ritual taking place within the cave.
