Serah followed behind the man in utmost silence.
She has to admit it, he floors of the library were quite reflecting.
She could make out her own face and body on the horizontal setting.
Her face was bruised.. Though that didn't really mattered to her. Yet it was something she couldn't let go unnoticed.
They reached one of the shelves before the man stopped.
"We're here.. Madam. " he recited in a calm voice.
Serah arched a confused eyebrow before the man pulled out a dusty, shabby looking book from the corner of the shelve.
"Ah... " Now the girl understood. A tactic to fool the commoners. Why would anyone bother with a torned dead book anyways?
Hence, the shelf shifted and a doorway opened up. The corridor that lead to the other opening of 'somewhere' was quite dark.
Serah breathed deeply before entering through. It was when the shelf got closed again, that she noticed the man didn't followed her this time.
Though she couldn't care less about that anyways. She walked through the darkness before a gleam of warm yellow light entered her vision.
She shielded her eyelids from the sudden brightness as she walked out the dark corridor.
In a blink, she was standing in the middle of another room.
"Wha..? " She mouthed out before gulping the words in as she spotted a large table ahead for her.
The room was filled with shelves and books. Probably another library?
Though these ones were far from what ordinary libraries looked like.
Serah realised that after spotting a few 'unusual' phenomenon around her.
Apart from standing on the ground, there were shelves literally fixed on the cieling 'UP-SIDE DOWN' filled with massive looking books that didn't even move, falling was a whole different story.
The tea kettle on the table in front of her moved on its own. Pouring the hot beverage into the other cup.
Serah followed instincts and moved to the table.
She picked up the cup and sighed.
[Finally.. some peace of mind]
She thought sipping through the sweet tea, a little pale for her preference yet delicious.
A world with no living beings, no one to bother her,no one to annoy her and no one to talk to.
If it weren't for the situation she was in, she would've preferred staying at such a place forever.
Killing its owner would be a rather easy job to be honest.
"Now now.. This isn't a way to thank someone who just welcomed you so warmly is it? "
A voice came and Serah almost choked the tea out of her mouth.
"WHO'S THE—" Before she could finish a lady, somewhat older and taller than her own figure appeared in front her.
Black eyes filled with calm and.. Mystery ..was all Serah could see at first.
Before she realised that the woman was literally hovering over her. If it weren't for the chair she was sitting on, they both would've fell down by now.
She was covered in a dark cloak, her hoodie was down, her face pale and her eyes were sharp.
"WOAAH! GET AWAY YOU BITCH—" As soon as the words left her mouth, Serah felt all the moisture in her throat getting sucked up.
"GUH_... UH! " She coughed holding her throat ,the words never came out.
"Whatever you do lady—. " she heard the woman say before looking up.
Serah gaped ,the woman was now sitting on the chair opposite to hers.
Hands folded and chin resting on her palm, she gazed at the troubling girl before smirking.
"—just never address me with that foul language of yours. " she added ,her eyes never leaving her sight.
'Fuck you! ' was what Serah wanted to scream just to feel her throat getting tighter instead.
"So you're still at it huh? " She said before Serah's eyes widened a little.
'She can read my mind? ' She was surprised.
Not because this was the first time she was witnessing a magic like that but more because she was caught off-guard.
Another mistake.. Another act of her profound carelessness.
Damn it!
She released her hold on her throat before the pain subsided slowly.
She could hear faint chuckles from the other woman. That pissed her off but she didn't responded.
Focus. Remember why you're here!
"Its been a while... Serahdine"
*THUMP! * *CRACK! *
Serah punched loudly on the table, making it crack in several areas. She eyed the woman, they held the same coldness as her own.
"Don't you dare... " she whispered "call me that again." .
The woman's smirk died down, before she hummed what seemed like a response to the blonde.
Serah let out a breath. "I believe you are the one, Herald send for me? " she asked.
"Oooh.. Taking the master's name directly? You sure have some guts on you."
Serah scoffed at the response. This wasn't the answer to her question.
Why is everyone just fixated on annoying her?! Can't she have anyone decent?
Why this person of all people?!
Though Serah didn't really knew anything about the mentioned person. Other than the fact that she can choke the ghosts out of the blond at any given time.
Huh.
"Just answer what you're asked. " she scowled at the raven haired.
"Well.. Shouldn't people begin with introducing themselves? My name is Samantha. "
Great. Just great.
Her question was completely dodged yet again. Is this woman even interested in helping her?!
Why the fuck is she even bothering her with low ass introductions?
Its not like they would meet ever again.
No she would make sure that won't happen once she's done with her.
The blond could already imagine Herald's smirking face in her head.
"And one thing you should know about me is that I absolutely despise you. Blond ass. "
Now she knew why that bastard of a Amistrus's son chose this nuisance to meet with her alone.
"..." Serah didn't had a response. She can't kill her.. No. Not yet.
She just had to bear with what was coming up ahead. Before she could stir up the conversation, the woman spoke again.
"Now that we're done with the introductions, let's just come to the matter at hand. "
Thanks a lot. I'm grateful... not.Bitch.
"I can still read your mind. "
Crap!
"Huh.. " The woman sighed before Serah pretended to cough up her words.
'Such an ungrateful bastard' she thought looking at the blond's silver eyes.
If it were'nt for master Herald's direct request, she would've never agreed to this.
She twitched her eyebrows before speaking again.
"I'm already aware of the situation at hand. "
Those words sent a pang towards Serah's heart.
She knew everything. Serah already expected that possibility but she still felt somewhat betrayed.
Though it was stupid as she herself would've told her everything if not Herald.
"So.. Is there a way..? To.. " She spoke shyly. Embarrassment causing her cheeks to change into a scarlet shade.
The woman just scoffed an 'Ofcourse' and Serah's whole world lit up before she dropped the bomb.
"But in order to do that... You need to go back where you started. The only option left for you is to—"
Now Serah knew where this was going and to say she was surprised was an understatement. She was traumatized.
"No.. Don't tell me—"
"—Reunite with The seven deadly sins."
