"REUNITE MY ASS!! "
Serah yelled in annoyance at the pale female before thumping out of the chair.
Samantha just sighed at the girl's utter foolishness.
"You haven't even heard the full story yet. " She made a dark face and Serah gulped, unconsciously holding her throat.
She didn't wanted to experience that choke again.
"—first of all be grateful that I'm in a good mood. Master Herald had personally tasked me to handle an idiot like you. "
She began moving her hands to form some kind of a seal.
[Did she just?!! Called me an idiot?!!!!! ]
No doubt about it. Samantha didn't had the least bit idea of Serah's potential strength.
Neither was she aware of her position. Which Serah herself never intended on revealing either.
Though in this case, the coin had the same face on both the sides.
The said girl was just as much clueless about the older female's powers.
Hence the wiser decision was..
...to stay quiet and listen.
"Its just like how he claimed.." The older girl's hand glowed blue as a familiar silhouette appeared out of the blue.
She smirked while Serah's eyes widened in confusion and surprise.
This was it!! The book she was chasing after all this time!!
Her eyes shined with glee as a dense shiver crawled up her spine the very next moment, reaching towards her head.
*throb*
"Argh!!—" she yelled as she crouched down on the floor due to the intense pain.
[This is it! Big sis Merlin showed us the same thing! ]
This time her younger self's voice was weaker.. And calmer than how the girl felt it at the palace last time.
Bad timing was always her companion, hence Serah wasn't surprised.
Though feeling such pain was unusual.
However the thing she was more confused and concerned about was the information her younger self just now conveyed.
"Merlin??! " She mouthed out.
She didn't remember any encounter with any of the sins except their captain ,Meliodas and Ban.
Her memories of the time she passed out after the 'exchange' and before she woke up the next morning...
Were completely blank.
Which was yet again, unusual.... Unusual and very concerning.
Never had she experienced a memory loss at the time of the 'exchange ' in her whole life.
She shivered at the thought of what could've her younger self done or revealed in that matter of time.
What came next was even more unexpected.
"Did you just say 'Merlin'? The sin of gluttony... That Merlin??! "
Samantha's sudden enthusiastic voice caught the girl off-guard.
She didn't gave any damn about her increasing pain.Even though she could easily cure it.
The lady's sudden interest on the new information she just got was.. Suspicious to say the least.
Serah couldn't even blink and the lady was already next to her.
"Interesting.. " She held the younger girl's chin in her pale and sleek fingers as Serah flinched at the closeness between them.
Her eyes seemed like boring holes inside the girl's mind.
Serah knew.. She knew what her next intention was.
In a flick of a second the lady was already reading through her innermost thoughts and memories.
Causing them to replay again and again in her own subconscious.
Though the physical pain it carried wasn't as intense as the mental pain the memories held within them.
"ST-STOP IT!! " She shivered as she tried to rewind her own thoughts to not let the magic run through her anymore.
Though her efforts were all in vain.
Her pathetic physical condition and loss of energy was what caused the younger girl to faol in her attempts even before she could began.
"Aha...found it. " The lady smirked and it didn't took long for Serah to realize why.
Her eyes reflected nothing but dread as the woman's smirk only widened.
"How interesting..." The lady continued.
"Lools like I've finally entered through the forbidden holds of your own consciousness. "
Serah opened her mouth and closed it back. Her vision getting more and more blurred by the passing second.
"Get.. G-get away.. Don't —" Her weak voice surprised her ownself.
Though she wouldn't want to admit. She always feared this very thing.
Her past.. Something she had forgotten long ago.
It took her master's incredible Amo to time and efforts.
To erase it from her life.
To start new.
Its been years but she always feared recalling them.
And this woman intended to make her live through them again.
Serah was aware of what will occur if this continues.
She'll loose control.
The woman's magic...
Was breaking her.
She closed her eyes ready waiting for the deed to be done.
Her body went limb, the aftereffects of the abundant loss of energy finally kicking in.
Her vision was going blank by the second. Everything felt like a mix of white and black.
...Serah's POV......
The next moment I found herself standing in the middle of a forest.
Voices..
Voices of pain. I can hear weapons clashing.
Are they.... crying?
Why were they crying?
I couldn't recall how I ended up here.
Oh.. That's right.
That... Bastard was fetching information through my memories.
Am I dead?
Did she kill me after her work was done?
Great. Just great.
I looked around myself. The dense forests were blocking my view.
I raced up the canopy ,the sky was slowly getting closer.
This forest was huge, I don't remember being at such a place before.
Just as I was about to reach the top ,another sudden scream almost made me fumbled down again.
"What the heck?!!" I screamed as I almost escaped from an attack directed towards me.
"You there! What are you doing here?! " A female voice asked.
I was already frustrated enough for any of this shit.
I was about to attack back, but my moments suddenly stopped ,as I saw the said person's face.
"ELIZABETH?!!! " I yelled a little too loud than I intended to.
Damn. No doubt about it.
This was the princess of Liones.
But what in the living hell was she doing in my afterlife?!!!
Wait. –
HOW DID SHE HAS TWO FUCKIN WINGS?!!
She made a face and retreated back a little.
"How do you know my name? " She asked me, fully alert.
Huh? What did she mean by that?
Maybe that thing has really effected her.
Wait.
If she was here... Then he must be as well.
I recalled Samantha's words.
'Reunite with the seven deadly sins. '
If this really isn't the afterlife, then I need to discuss a lot of stuff with him.
That too, as soon as possible.
"Where's that ice-cream boy? Where's Melidoa—" I barely asked before another arc was launched towards me.
"What the hell?!! " I yelled as I jumped to the other branch.
"How... Do you.. know him? "
I observed as a sudden dark aura covered the princess's face.
Ok.. This was certainly not Elizabeth. Atleast not the one from Liones.
Time to get serious.
"What are you? " she closed the distance between her and me.
"Friend or enemy? .." Her eyes gleamed with a sudden hope.
I don't know what was she expecting.
Not that I had any intentions to give her a false hope.
"Neither. " I replied.
She was still as a stone.
Her eyes seemed to have changed. A sudden dissapointed taking over the slightest beam of hope.
"Get away.. " She muttered.
"If you're not an enemy... I have no gain in hurting or capturing you. "
She turned back as I saw another figure appearing right behind her.
"AAARGH!! " In a flash, a sword was stabbed deep inside her vitals.
Red staining her pure white outfit.
"Finally... I found you. " Another familiar voice said as Elizabeth was writhing under his hold.
"You... You coward. A-attacking from the back. "
The male laughed at that. And I only felt a sudden rage crawling up my spine.
"Looks like you forgot. We are in the middle of a war goddess!"
War..?
The male's face wasn't yet visible to me. All I could see was his armour.
"And everything is fare in a war. As long as the demon race wins! "
He added as he stabbed her one more time.
She cried in pain.
I clenched my fist in frustration.
Now everything was clear to me.
This was the past.
As much as I can remember. This was the holy war, somewhere 3000 years ago from my time.
Should I interfere?
Though I still wasn't at my full power. Making enemies would be the most foolish thing one can do in a situation like this.
"And now its time for you to die!!! " He took the sword out again, ready to make the last strike.
*clash* *splint*.
Damn! Why the hell was I even doing this?!
"You... What the hell are you doing?!! " The male asked under his helmet as I clashed my own sword against his.
From where did my sword appear though? I had no clue.
"Time for you to die.. You dirtbag! " I clashed my sword again as he was drifted back from the sudden force.
"Why... Are...you helping —"
"I really have no idea to be honest. " I replied before the princess could complete her sentence.
"Lets just say you're in my debt.Again."
She questioned something again but I dashed forward.
This was so gonna kill me.
I didn't even knew who I was fighting against.
I attacked and the person defended himself.
"You..." A gasp escaped his mouth as he drifted back to maintain some distance between us.
Huh?!
"I can't believe.. How are you alive?! How?! " His voice suddenly sounded heavy.
I didn't knew one thing that was happening here.
"Meliodas.!! Stop it!! " Elizabeth exclaimed as my mouth dropped.
Meliodas?!!! That bastard?!!
"Answer me! " he yelled at me, and now his voice was suddenly...
Much more recognisable.
"I don't know what you're talking about. " I answered in a cold tone before my head throbbed again.
I could hear the faint conversation between the two love birds/ enemies?!
My vision went blank again.
..........
'You did good.'
A voice suddenly echoed as I opened my eyes again.
Dark.
Everything was black.
It was like being in the middle of a dark void.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!! " I screamed in frustration.
My head was spinning. I could vomit anytime now.
"Don't worry my child. You're finally ready. " The voice somewhat sounded like a female.
It was achingly familiar.
Yet I couldn't put my fingure on it.
Something inside me warned me against listening to this person.
Whoever it was.
"STOP PLAYING AROUND WITH ME!! ANSWER ME! "
My throat was dry and I was pissed.
"Its time for you to follow your fate. "
"What..?!! ""
"Reunite with the seven deadly sins. "
She said the same thing as that bitch Samantha.
"In your quest to regain what's lost..
....you'll find the meanings hidden deep within.".
Oho.. This Seems like a prophecy to me.
And prophecies bring nothing but trouble.
And now ..it seems like I was a part of one.
Much less , with those Seven Deadly bugs tagging along.
"This is going to be such a pain in the ass." I muttered as the said voice seemed to chuckle.
My vision went dark again.
Looks like I'll be waking up soon.
