Inner Turmoil

Yyan didn't stop Yue from wandering the place since he knew it would be better than staying with the pesky flies.

When Yyan managed to get away from them, he got cornered by his fiancee.

Yyan would rather face those scheming businessmen than this sticky woman. He had no patience for her and would often ignore her but for some reason she was not deterred.

"When are you going to be available Brother Yan. Grandpa is always asking for you. He said that you already forgot about him after you got busy with your Crest Family business" a pouting beauty was irresistible had it been another man, but Yyan just got several degrees colder. However, when he heard her mention her grandpa, a rare guilt appeared on his face for a beat.

The beauty didn't miss the detail and made a push for it.

"You know, it would be grandpa's birthday in the next two weeks. You should go see him then, I'm sure he would be very happy" and I would be very happy, then I'll make sure you'll be in my grasp by then- were the words inside the beauty's head that she didn't mention.

Ashaina knew Yyan has a soft spot for her grandpa since he was the one who guided him during the time he lost his parents. In fact, it was her grandpa and his that arranged for their marriage.

Ashaina had long been in love with Yyan, she can never be more happier when she received the news about their arranged marriage, unfortunately, Yyan felt otherwise. She couldn't understand, she had always been adorable and favorable in the sight of other people, but only Yyan seemed to have an immunity with her charms.

"Inform master that I will be seeing him then" Ashaina finally managed to extract a response from Yyan. She gritted her teeth, if she hadn't mention grandpa, she would be wasting her spit for the whole night.

"I-Grandpa will be sure looking forward to it. By the way, I heard people mention that Yue came with you, where is she? We shouldn't leave her alone, she might get uncomfortable with strangers" If there was another person who could evoke response from Yyan, that would be his sister, so Ashaina tried to show her concern. Unfortunately, to Yyan, her concern sounded like she's insulting Yue.

Ashaina didn't know that she just annoyed Yyan into another level, but it could not be said to be totally her fault since she's clueless about Yue's recovery. The news was only known to Yyan's close friends and not even their relatives know the real score, but of course after this night, everyone would know that the news about the daughter of the Crest family was all a hoax.

But speaking of Yue, Yyan hadn't seen her for almost an hour. With people stopping him every now and then, it prevented him from looking after Yue.

Impatience was written all over Yyan's face.

"Miss Lancer, if you'll excuse me I need to look for my sister" Yyan wanted to get away.

"I will look with you" Ashaina missed Yyan's impatience and thought he was just responding to her. She volunteered to go with him to lengthen their time together, but her wish was dashed the next moment.

"No need" Yyan didn't even glance at her and left.

The broken Ashaina was dumbstruck, when she recovered, Yyan was nowhere in sight.

Yyan could be said to know Yue like the back of his hand. He didn't even need to think hard to know where she is.

He headed towards the lake, and true to his thought, he immediately saw Yue; but before he could feel happy, he saw her suffering in agony. It was like seeing her again after the tragedy. It was unbearable, his heart ached uncontrollably.

Yyan was panicking but he tried to assure to Yue in his most stable and soothing voice.

Even when they lost both their parents and the burden of their humongous family fell on his shoulders, Yyan faced the challenge head on with a firm heart. Even when he first saw the devastated Yue, he didn't feel as afraid as he was today. Ever since Yue woke up from the incident he knew he had been changing. He is feeling emotions that he shouldn't feel.

He was confused at first and tried to suppress it, heck, he didn't even know how it came to be, and so when Yue asked for his permission to study abroad, part of him agreed so that he could erase those unwanted feelings.

But the control he built up over the years crumbled when he saw her today. He felt that if he didn't get hold of her, he would lose her forever. He secured Yue within his arms.

Yyan could feel that Yue started to relax although her grip on him tightened.

They maintained such position for almost a quarter of an hour before Yue eventually released him.

He felt some regret.

Yue looked a bit lost after that inner turmoil. She couldn't believe that a simple encounter with Rei Asher would evoke such reaction from her body.

It seems that she needed to unravel the memories that the previous owner tried to bury to be able to avoid the same breakdown. It was really tiring to go over it once, much more if its going to happen over and over again.
