Conflicted

The room Yue originally reserved was a corner room that has the best view of the city. Even if the sun was at its peak, the glass used for the structure has a protective coating that prevents the heat and glare from reaching the interior. Still, this particular room was not popular with the customers during day time. Yue can only assume why Rei would also demand for this room.

"You wanted to meet me" it's more of a confirmation rather than a question on Yue's side.

"Is it that obvious?" Rei's emotions were complicated.

"Why?" Yue was curious.

"I miss you" those particular words were uttered carrying years of bottled loneliness. Yue had the urge to reach out for Rei's hand and comfort him.

Yue controlled her emotions and threw another question. "Who are you?" it's more of asking about his role in her life rather than his background.

"Did you really not know?" the Rei in front of her was not the Film Emperor who's in a lofty position but a man who seem to lost his heart.

Yue shook her head. Despite claiming that she "regained" her memories, a certain part of the original's memory remains sealed. She can only conclude that Rei was in that part of the missing memory.

"Heh" she heard a slight mock in his tone, whether it was directed to her or to himself, he didn't let her know.

Suddenly the gloomy atmosphere around Rei changed into a relaxed one, as if he didn't just bare his weakness.

"I heard that you would be joining the Fashion Festival. I came here to be the model for your team" Rei switched the topic.

Although Yue was baffled by how fast Rei has changed but she decided to go along with his flow.

"I thought Mr. Asher doesn't have dealings with the modeling industry" this man had been offered a lot of modeling jobs but he always turn them down. She used to anticipate his coming in the industry, she thought it was made for him but she never did encounter even a shadow of him. So it was truly a surprise that he was convinced to appear this time.

"It's because of you that I made the exemption. I was always waiting for you" Rei gave a particularly deep look.

Yue felt that disturbing emotion from him once again. It makes her both sympathetic and averse at the same time.

"Then I would like to give my gratitude" Yue despite what she initially felt was still sincere. She can imagine the man wearing their clothes and knew he would bring the best out of it.

Yue didn't know how she managed to finish her lunch with Rei. It was like she had undergone an extreme psychological battle, she felt truly tired.

Yue was never been so conflicted in her life. She can now empathize with "Yue". Her personal encounter with Rei made her realize how dangerous the man is. He can actually manipulate her emotions in a set tempo he wants. No wonder he became an internationally renowned film emperor, just the skill of changing face within a matter of seconds is unparalleled much more with affecting other people's emotions.

If the man will be used by his family. A sharp glint flashed by her eyes.

Although Rei seems to be playing with her but she can feel that every single sentiment he had was real. That's where things became complicated. She can't see his bottom line. It was hard to read his moves. He is too unpredictable but he doesn't seem to have something against her.

Rei Asher was an enigma.

Yue still didn't know how to deal with this person.

The moment she reached her hotel room she went to bed to take a rest. She left a message to Ker that she won't be joining them for dinner.

She woke up with the sound of her phone ringing. Yue set the ringtone for Yyan's call.

"Brother" Yue was still groggy.

"It's time for dinner why are you still sleeping? Is there something wrong, are you feeling unwell?"Yue can feel Yyan's worrying from afar.

Yue laughed when she heard Yyan, "Naggy the second"

"Who's the first?" was her brother jealous, Yue had that ridiculous thought when she heard him.

"Ker, he always nags at me during work" Yue chuckled.

"Let me deal with him"

"No no, he just cares for my well being" Yue can sense the tension rising up. How could her brother be so protective, really, but she still feels mushy.

"The more that I needed to eliminate him"

It seems that Yue can't joke about other people mistreating her or there would be a bloodshed. Now she just felt sorry for Ker.

"What are you saying, don't get too serious brother. How about you, have you taken your dinner?" Yue immediately changed the topic.

"Not yet. I was still in the office" Yyan was still unresolved but set the matter aside.

"Then what's the use of reminding me to eat when you are not even taking care of your meals" Now it's Yue's turn to nag.

"My fault, I'll be heading home in a bit" Yyan answered pleasantly. He enjoyed this kind of feeling when Yue shows her concern for him.

"You better not take your work back at home" Yue followed up.

"I won't I promise" Yyan started to prepare heading out. "How's the preparation for the fashion week?"

"We'll be starting tomorrow, as long as no one create a trouble for us then everything should be in the basket" Yue started reporting her day.

"It's better to be cautious. I heard there are lots of accidents happening during the competition proper"

"I'll look out for it, but I'm sure that Ker and Kiro are already aware of such and will set countermeasures for it"

"When are you coming here brother?" Yyan can detect some insecurity with Yue's question.

"Did something happen?" Yyan frowned. No one reported to him about any abnormality around Yue.

"I met Rei Asher" a hint of fear was apparent when Yue remembered her encounter with the man.

When Yyan heard the name, he could only wish to be with Yue as soon as possible. Rei was the main reason Yue broke down that year. After that incident Rei stayed away from Yue, but what about now? "What did he do?"

"We just talked, but it's just that whenever I see him, I feel disturbed" Yue can't explain exactly how she felt.

"You encountered him at the island?" Yyan confirmed his guess.

"Uhn" she felt a little guilty. They weren't able to settle down that issue yet due to the series of events.

"We'll talk about it when I arrive there. For now, try to stay away from him as much as possible" Yyan seriously instructed Yue. Although that guy would not physically harm Yue, but he cast a big shadow on her that is hard to overcome.

"Uhn, I will" Yue said obediently.

"I'll be there before you know it" Yyan lowered his voice and assured her.

"I'll be waiting" Yue felt like a dependent cat, but she can't help it. Only with her brother by her side can she have a peace of mind.
