Side by Side

The door of Yue's room creaked so low.

The sound usually wouldn't wake up a slumbering person but Yue's sensitive ears won't miss it.

Surely their competitors from FF wouldn't act this malicious to even assault her in the middle of the night?

Her back was facing the door so she could only listen to those careful steps that approach her bed.

She felt the side of her bed dipped low and a hand slightly touched her head.

Even if her nose is not as sensitive as her ears, but she would always recognize the scent owned by this person who entered.

A small smile appeared on her lips.

In fact, each fall of his step already gave away his identity.

"Brother is here" Yue spoke as she held his hand and face him.

"Go back to sleep" Yyan patted her head.

"Brother should also go to bed. You must be tired" Yue love it whenever her brother pats her head. She felt secure and comfortably snuggled deeper in her blanket.

"Uhn, I'm really tired. Scoot over" Yyan agreed made her move inside of the bed.

"Huh?" Yue thought she misheard since she was not totally awake but the next moment, Yyan did lay down in her own bed and closed his eyes.

"Brother, you should sleep in your own room. You still have yet to change, you will feel uncomfortable" Yue didn't think of any deeper meaning, she was just concerned that he might not sleep well while still wearing his coat and all.

Yue didn't hear a response after a long time but heard an even breathing and soft snore. Yyan fell asleep just like that.

Yue felt a little guilty. For her, Yyan must have chartered a flight directly after work, he didn't even get enough rest and must have missed his dinner. Then she even tried to kick him out of her room.

She stared at her brother's handsome and peaceful face for a while. Exhaustion is written all over it. He was even frowning during his sleep.

Yue placed her finger between Yyan's brows to straighten them. When she saw his face relaxed, she stood up and removed his shoes and placed a blanket over him. She also sorted the pillows under his head to allow better breathing position and prevent him from getting nightmares. She tried to remove his coat but was unsuccessful. She didn't attempt further in case she woke him up.

When she's satisfied, she laid down on her side of the bed to continue her sleep.

Unbeknownst to our little Yue, a certain cunning man only pretended just so he can shamelessly sleep with her and enjoy her tucking him to bed.

Yyan opened his eyes on an unfamiliar environment. He suddenly became vigilant, but when he realized that he was in Yue's room he let out a laugh.

Since when did he allow himself to sleep defenselessly. And he realized, it was the first time in years that he managed to sleep for more than three hours.

The other side of the bed is already cold, obviously his little Yue woke up long before. Did she not get enough sleep because of him? It's not a good feeling.

"Did I miss something funny?" Yue popped her head at the door. She heard him laughing all the way to the kitchen. Her hotel room is actually a penthouse so it was complete with amenities. This is where she originally stayed for three years while she was studying.

"It's nothing. You've been cooking?" When Yyan saw Yue in her apron, that bad feeling he had earlier vanished like smoke.

"I want to surprise brother with a sumptuous breakfast so hehe. It will be ready by the time you're done with your morning rituals. I'll go back now" Yue just wanted to check if he's okay then skipped back to the kitchen. Wouldn't want her brother to eat a burnt egg.

At that moment, Yyan thought it would be great if this kind of life can go on forever.

Yue got busy the whole day. Yyan didn't accompany her as he still needed to finish a lot of work as he left hastily.

As soon as the outfits were delivered, they double checked the items to make sure that nothing is missing and the embellishments are still in place. There's also the dry run for the models and last minute adjustments to make sure that there would be no wardrobe malfunction will happen in the middle of the catwalk.

Yue didn't see Rei this time. He obviously wouldn't join such trivialities. Yue was relieved and was able to focus on her work.

The truth is, she was still a bit disturbed about what she learned earlier that day. Yyan told her that when their father died, it was her and Rei that was present at the scene.

The Ashers arrived first and took the young Rei right away and no one saw him for years until he appeared as an actor. As for Yue, she was found staring blankly as if her soul was taken away. No one can get a proper detail out of her.

Yue knew things are not that simple. As long as she can keep her emotions in check, she would be happy to dig deeper around things.
