The Stage She Belongs

Things have gone smoothly for the past few days, but it's impossible to get away from evil hands since this is a highly competitive and prestigious event.

Those who won in Fashion Fest become the leading authority in fashion. Although Alcane is considered to be at the top, it could only be said in Country C. If they wanted to fully grasp the international market, they needed to clinch the first place in Fashion Fest.

Of course, that would mean a lot would do everything just to eliminate their competition.

"We wouldn't delay anyone's excitement. Let's start the annual Fashion Festival!!" the host had been doing this for years and didn't bore people with useless words.

Everyone in the audience clapped and enthusiasm can be seen in their faces.

Those who are invited to this event are naturally no ordinary people. Besides those who are involved in the fashion industry, the majority are the madams and ladies in high society who love spending their money on haute couture. These people would love to boast on their new and unique outfits that makes them different from anyone else.

The stage is gradually being filled with models.

The theme for this year was focused on being one with nature, and arrays of green and brown were seen on the stage.

On the other hand, one section of backstage which should have been chaotic like others is filled with silence.

Alcane was the last to present their designs. It is a bad placing, by that time the judges had mostly formed their opinions and rarely would still pay attention. Those who wanted to create a stronger impression would want their clothes to be seen first, this would also weaken the presence of the proceeding designs. But Yue and Ker didn't care for such a thing. They are confident that their design would overcome everyone in the room. But at this moment, their problem lies with the missing main outfit.

A woman can be seen crying in the corner. Other staffs have grave faces. But the two main designers were surprisingly calm.

"You said that I requested for the dress for a last-minute fix. Did I come personally or someone asked for me?" Yue threw a question to the crying woman.

"T-that" doubt can be seen from the woman's face.

Everyone was impatient and agitated but no one tried to burst out.

"She was wearing a mask and gave off the same feeling and voice as Miss Yue. The place was a little dark so I thought it was you but now it doesn't seem so" the woman knew that being honest was the best way to lessen her sentence.

Yue squinted her eyes. These people may be staffs from Alcane but this is the first time they had contact so it's highly possible to mistake her with another person with the same built and voice. Of course, her face should be beautifully unique but if someone was desperate enough, it was easy to do some tricks even just for a short while.

"We can't do anything about the missing outfit. Whoever got it would've destroyed it by now. We can only make do with the remaining ones" Yue didn't dwell on the problem. Others might have panicked facing the same situation but she knew that Ker already had a backup plan.

Yue knew that Ker is working on an outfit in a separate studio. She only accidentally discovered it and he confirmed her guess but he didn't let her see the dress. Only she and Ker knew the existence of the outfit and it will only be revealed if something like this incident happened.

Yue was puzzled though. She observed that Ker put a lot of thought in designing this particular dress and it is possibly more dazzling than any other outfits but he seems to be reluctant to present it.

"Everyone should resume the preparations and forget about the incident. Someone inform Rei that he would not need to appear in the stage. Yue follow me" Ker finally spoke and gave out his commands, and started walking away.

Staffs were bewildered and confusion was written all over their face but they started to get busy. They still needed to settle the models who were left hanging in the next room.

Ker didn't walk for long and stopped in front of a locked room. He produced the key and opened the door.

In front of Yue was a medium-sized empty room and in the middle was a mannequin wearing a dress.

When Yue saw the dress, she was totally stunned.

She stood frozen for who knew how long and Ker just stood watching her reaction.

The strange look appeared on his face again but Yue was oblivious to it since all her focus was on the dress.

The sentiment is overwhelming her and tears almost escape from her eyes.

It was not the design of the dress that made her react like that but the emotions evoked by the dress.

Just one look and she knew the dress was made for her. Or rather, it was made for Moon.

She eyed Ker suspiciously but the man already retracted his strange look and didn't look at her but also gazed at the dress.

Ker spoke with fervor.

"This dress was not meant to be worn by just anyone"

"I made it with that person in mind"

"Unfortunately, she and this dress doesn't seem to have fate"

"This dress will bring us the win, but if it's those models I'd rather not let it out"

Yue can hear the pounding of her heart. She didn't know if she was anticipating or scared for the words that Ker would utter next.

"But I don't mind if this dress will be worn by you. I feel that you and that person are similar in a lot of ways even in temperament. I know you will definitely give justice to this dress as much as she would" Ker faced her as if seeing another person.

Yue inhaled sharply.

"Is that person you're talking about is Moon?" Yue looked expectantly at Ker. Ker nodded at her seem to be lost in thought.

Yue didn't know where to start. Did she meet Ker in her past life? It took years after her death before she finally found someone who still remembers her. Myriads of emotions passed by, but it didn't take long for her to consider.

"But I don't have modeling experience, how can you be so sure" Yue agreed already by saying this. She's also talking about the original owner's experience.

"Don't joke with me. You may not have walked in the runway but you can't deceive my eyes with the way you carry yourself" Ker scoffed at her.

"All right, there's no time to waste. Let's prepare and let those petty schemers wet at their feet" Yue energetically said. Who knew that in this life she would once again enter that world she previously shunned.

"Yuck" Ker wrinkled his nose at her.

"Who cares!" Yue rolled her eyes.
