Chapter 8

Growing up together since they were younger, Peng Zedong's father always told Peng Zedong that she needed to treat Yao Ling as if she was her blood related sister. The reason for this was because of Yao Ling's background.

Flower Continent was known to be a very war hungry continent filled with aspiring soldiers who wanted to earn many military based merits along with a government that promoted invading smaller unaffiliated territories.

However, there was one unshakable continent in the world that existed and it just so happened that Yao Ling's family was one of the four families that ruled over the continent.

This continent was referred to as the Iron Continent because although they were the biggest and most powerful, they were still unwilling to openly invade other places to expand their reach over the world.

They willed this personal preference as if it was an iron rule that allowed them to set up many great relationships and to lead the alliance that all of the continents had with one another to prevent a world war from happening.

Even so, Yao Ling's family controlled the eastern portion of the continent which was as big and as strong as the entire Flower Continent. Therefore, the fact that the Peng family was able to be on good terms with them, made them flourish in the Flower Continent as well.

Such a method of growing one's influence throughout a country was indeed a common practice among the higher class individuals. If they were able to convince other influential individuals to join with them, it would be even easier to control the average citizen.

With such responsibility on her shoulders, Peng Zedong at first did not want to treat Yao Ling any differently as she would any of her other friends, but she realized that the father she loved and admired really wanted her to go above and beyond for her.

Against her judgement, Peng Zedong took this as a challenge and learned quite well how to put on a mask in front of others so that she was able to pull the social strings. This allowed her to become very popular locally, which helped her reputation grow to reach every corner of the Flower Continent.

Peng Zedong received all of the praise and anything she wished from her father and so she felt that it was only proper to treat Yao Ling as an actual sister. This was the moment right before the two actually met.

Once they met each other for the first time, Peng Zedong realized that she genuinely did like and got along well with her, and so this just made it so that even Yao Ling herself insisted that the two would be equivalent to each other's sisters.

When Peng Zedong reported this news to her father along with Yao Ling confirming, the seeds were officially planted and her father let the matter go. Even if Peng Zedong were to kill someone in public during the day, it would not phase her father and he would still support her no matter what.

-Knock-

As she finished her bowl of mixed fruit for her breakfast, Peng Zedong heard someone knock on her door before it slowly opened up. "Peng Zedong, I heard you have been naughty recently and you will be punished!"

All of the sudden a blonde woman no older than Peng Zedong ran into the room with both fingers shaped like guns and sticking her tongue out towards her. She wore a dark red mini skirt with high heel boots that stopped just above her knees and a tight leather jacket. This was none other than Yao Ling.

"And how have I been naughty?" Peng Zedong without even being phased by her sister asked her as she had a very confused look on her face. It was normal for Yao Ling to overly react towards Peng Zedong so she was used to this manner of introduction even if she hadn't seen her in a long time.

"You have gotten engaged to a man that I haven't even been able to meet. How could I not be upset at you and force you to spend the entire day with me so we can discuss this entire mess?" Yao Ling replied as her entire demeanor changed instantly with a small tear rolling down her face as she jumped onto Peng Zedong in her bed to hug her closely.

"Um, maybe I should come back a little later." suddenly one of the Peng family mansion guards dressed in a nice suit stood at the doorway of Peng Zedong's room while blushing said as he quickly excused himself while closing the door behind him.

"Yao Ling, look what you did now!" Peng Zedong told her in an upset tone. However, having her sister upset in her arms and on her bed forced her to take a deep breath as she hugged her a little closer before finally standing up. "I know, I am sure you would want to do my makeup like last time, right?"

"Do you mean it?" standing up as well, Yao Ling's mood changed instantly as her eyes lit up and she made her way towards Peng Zedong's personal bathroom.

"Good thing she doesn't hold grudges, otherwise I would be afraid of giving her such an offer." Peng Zedong thought as she followed behind her sister.

Those not close to Yao Ling did not know this, but as long as someone treated her very nicely, even if she was heart broken, Yao Ling would almost instantly feel better. Such a fickle personality was one a future leader of a powerful and influential family couldn't put into said position, but Yao Ling was the last child with the Yao family's pure bloodline flowing through her.

If it wasn't for the fact that the Yao family had such deep roots and an unshakable foundation across the world, Yao Ling would have still never even been considered for such a role. However, very few knew that she was the one who was truly next in line because the Yao family refused to publicly acknowledge this.

Now looking like her normal self, Peng Zedong finally got dressed in a not so revealing set of clothes as her sister as the two finally left Peng Zedong's room and headed down the stairs. There was no telling if her father would receive a report that the two were possibly fooling around in private by the lucky individual who witnessed the scene.
