Please Forgive Me

"If you ask me;'What's the meaning of a Miracle?' I will tell you that for Mr Biobaku to still remain alive, that's a perfect definition and example of a miracle.

I was one of those who carried his assumed lifeless body on the day he was shot by the robbers. For couple of hours he was losing blood at every seconds, we couldn't hear him breath, our hearts were wary.

Honestly, I already gave up on his aliveness but yesterday when I heard that he survived it, that he has regained his consciousness, I couldn't hold the emotional tears. Truly, 'There is a God'." Narrated; Mr Obi, one of the neighbors who carried Mr Biobaku to the hospital..

Its another day of jubilation for the Aiyekoto's community, has hundreds of community occupants visits the hospital to celebrate the survival of Mr Biobaku.

The Biobaku's family became famous in the community through their tribulations, some they won while some they lost. But the family is already tagged "Family of the Survivors" by the community.

The sounds of sirens approaches the compounded crowd so as to pave way for it to find its way through to the hospital as the police officer wants to meet with Mrs Biobaku and her husband..

"Good Morning ma'am," officer Adamu said.

"Good Morning sir," Mrs Biobaku replied.

Officer Adamu continued;

"Congratulations on your husband, we heard the news at our station.We are glad that the battle of survival was won by your husband, we thank the Almighty for his benevolence on you and your family."

"Thank you sir, we appreciate you all this while for standing by us, we appreciate all the gestures you extended to us. May you be abundantly rewarded." Mrs Biobaku replied.

Officer Adamu continues;

"The alleged robber in our custody demands to confess in the presence of your husband, he seem to have a lot to say, that's why we are here to know if you will be granting him such privilege and to know if your husband is strong enough to entertain him."

"No problem sir, if that will expose the culprit and if you're okay with it.Although, my husband is presently sleeping, he needs enough sleep and rest for his scab to heal." Mrs Biobaku replied.

Mrs Biobaku continues;

"He should be available by 9am tomorrow morning but you'll have to bring the man who wants to kill my husband down to the hospital cause my husband ain't strong enough to leave the hospital or walk."

"No problem ma, we will do just that. Thank you for your time." Officer Adamu replied.

Few minutes after the police officers left, so did Ogbeni Alakija, Soyinka, Ayo and Aduke arrive the hospital to come check on Mr Biobaku.

Their arrival seems to be a perfect timing as Mr Biobaku who has been sleeping for couple of hours under the influence of sleeping pills regained his consciousness.

Ogbeni Alakija begins;

"My friend, I'm actually the happiest person on earth today.You've been a source of hope and strength to me. You're a role model to me, the way you keep waxing stronger in the trials of life is one to commend.You're blessed beyond what the eyes could see, losing you at this embryonic stage of your fatherhood and our friendship would have not just broke me apart but tore me apart.The world might see 'Abefe Biobaku' but what i see is a conqueror, a great father, and amazing husband and a great friend."

"My wife and Sade narrated everything you did in ensuring I regain my aliveness. Honestly, I don't possess the riches to repay you but I just want you to know that; 'You're a gift to Humanity', with your kinds, the world will be a better place for everyone.Thank you Thank youThank you" Mr Biobaku replied.The recuperating Mr Biobaku begins to cough, the nurse advised that he should be left alone, that he has stressed himself with too much talks.Everyone dispersed as they complied with the advice of the doctor.

Its the next day, a cloudy day that promises a heavy downpour.

The police men arrived the hospital at the proposed time by Mrs Biobaku with the alleged and chained robber.

"Good Morning ma, I hope we arrive at the right time?" Officer Adamu asked.

"Verily sir!He woke up just few minutes ago and his friend is also with him.Lets go in." Mrs Biobaku said.

They all went into the hospital while some police officers remained stationed outside to guard the premises.

"Now, this is the man you almost killed, the man you requested to see. Make your confession fast as possible cause you can see that he is just getting better." Officer Adamu emphasized.

With tears rolling down the cheeks of the robber, he continued and said;

"I'm sorry for being a part of the plot that placed you on this sickening situation. Please find a place in your heart to forgive me"

The officer interrupted;"Don't waste our time with your crocodile tears, your falsified emotions, make your confessions fast."

The robber continues;

"I wasn't the one who shot you, it was Jaiye who did.

It was his plan right from the inception that we should come rob you after you won some money at the gambling shop.

He was in the shop while you came in to play and won, he trailed you to your house before he came to introduce the idea to me. I wish I had said no, even if I could, he would have threaten my life with his pistol.

He was jealous of the winnings you made and because he has never won a gambling trial this year, these were the reason that made us burgle your house the other day.

Jaiye is a friend to the owner of the shop, you can get him through the owner of the shop.

Before I conclude, please I want you to forgive me.I know I don't worth it nor do I deserve it but please gift me with your forgiveness," the robber conclusively narrated.

"Criminal!!Now you want forgiveness.I think that's all.We promise to make him and his cohort face the wrath of the law. We will keep you posted as the progress unfolds" officer Adamu said.

As they were about leaving, Mr Biobaku said;

"Who am I not to forgive you?I wholeheartedly forgive you. I'm mere human like you.

Being alive with my family is enough for me, I forgive you."
