Few days gone by, the unstable voice of Mr Biobaku seems to be regaining its stability, even though his recuperation still demands him to spend some more days in the hospital. Hence, he should be discharged in few days.
Its a Monday and its the first day of the FEC Exams (Final Examination Council). Sade who has been for weeks preparing for her examination seems undaunted and sharpened to do well in her exams, perhaps, the revival of her dad expedited her undivided interest and focus in excelling in her exams.
"Your exam will span through how many days?" Asked Ayo..
"Just 2 weeks my brother," replied Sade.
"Alright, I believe you're well prepared. You know this exam is your passage to the university, please don't get distracted and do all you can to come out with excellent result at one sitting. You know I'm your daddy now," jokingly said Ayo.
They both laughed..
"Although, I seem to be finding it uneasy with the mathematics subject but I won't relent until I find it easy," said Sade.
"I'm sure you're not having maths today, we can have a brief tutorial on it when you return. For now, put mathematics aside and focus on the subject you have today. As I'll always tell you; 'Always take it a step at a time'.I wish you all the very best of luck.I need to get going to school, the new appointment demands me to be punctual to school at all times, and I have been pre-informed that on this date which is today, the school management will be introducing me to the new King as a means of creating mutual relationship between myself, the school and the king before the official commencement of my duty as the Head boy of the school. However, I will hurriedly branch the hospital to say hi to dad, I can't wait for him to return home, I hate hospitals." Emphasized Ayo.
"I quite understand, all the best of luck to you too; Your Excellency sir," Sade comically replied with a practicable gesture.
"My sister, you know I'm now the personal assistant to His Excellency, if you do well in your exams, I promise to give you an appointment in his office.Don't worry, anything I request he will grant, he is my second father.Just pass all your exams and expect goodies from His Excellency." Said Aduke, as they all dramatically bursted out in laughter.
Ayo and Aduke both left the house as they depart for school.
"My daughter, you know I'm not educated, I'm not proud of it because I wish I was, but I am relieved and happy knowing that my children are achieving and living the life I couldn't afford and possess when I was young. Please stay focused on your exams, before you start your paper, pray! I won't stop praying for you, make yourself proud, make Layo proud, make the whole family proud and make the whole community proud as well.I also want to be a proud mother, I want to have a daughter in the university, I want to majestically walk while people point at me saying; 'That's the mother of the girl in the university'.
Apparently, you can see how hard being strong is to our family, you can see how different kinds of tribulations have homed itself in our family, but we keep fighting cause we are the Biobaku's, we don't give up!
I need to drop breakfast to your dad at the hospital and leave for the market afterwards," said Mrs Biobaku..
"Alright mommy, I promise to make you proud." acknowledged Sade.
"Go well my daughter." concluded Mrs Biobaku
"Good Afternoon Royal Chiefs," said the Principal, vice principal and secretary of the Holy Boys and Girls School.
"Good afternoon our darling principal," chorused the chiefs.
Ayo fully prostrated to the sitting chiefs, as the practice and culture of the land demands to show respect to the elderly ones.
"We have an appointment with the king," said the Principal.
"Yes, we have earlier been informed, that's why we all are presently seated.Get yourself seated, the King will be here soon" replied Chief Ladoja.
The King and two of his entourage entered the palace as the King calmly sits himself on the throne.
Kààbiyẹ́si oo (No King like you)Kààbiyẹ́si oo (No King like you)Kààbiyẹ́si oo (No King like you), the chiefs, the seated school management and Ayo all rose and chorused.
"You're welcome my people," the King acknowledged.
The principal took to his feet, as he begin to say;
"Your highness, we are here today, to introduce to you the newly appointed Head Boy of our school. Thus, he still has a year behind before he reaches his final year but Ayo has characteristically proved to us that leadership isn't by age but by instinct.
He is the son of the man who was shot by robbers few weeks back, it was through his masterminded efforts that saved the life of his dad, among many other bravery and brilliancy acts he has exhibited. This made us conclude by appointing him as the new Head Boy." Said the principal.
"Oh, the son of the poor man; Mr Biobaku.Your highness, it was his sister who got kidnapped and butchered by your predecessor," buttressed Chief Ladoja.
"Its fine, so far you believe in his capacity to deliver and leadership instinct, I'm here to also usher him my support.I visited his father few days back. How is your father doing now?" Asked the King.
"He is getting better sir," replied Ayo.
"As soon as subsequent executives of his team has been appointed, he will bring them for proper introduction too." Said Mr Ben, the vice principal..
"I've heard about him from my grandchildren, he is a good boy. Don't stop being a good boy and ensure you make your family and the King proud," emphasized Chief Ladoja.
"Thank you your Highness.Thank you our Royal Chiefs, I promise to make you all proud," said Ayo.
"May the gods be with you," concluded the King
