Chapter Fifty Eight - Isan's Training (Part 1)

Isan was standing in front of Noah's newly acquired house in the early morning, in some light leather overalls and a small cape that came down to just below his spine, a sword attached to a belt by his waist.

There was a dim golden light coming out of the window that let him see into the shop. 'You have already rented out the shop to someone? I didn't think that you would move this quickly... I wonder what they sell.'

He walked to the door and gave it a few gentle knocks – tap – tap – tap. The light got brighter and closer to the door, making the cobbles floor around him light up. An old lady coming up to the window and peering at him through the glass like he was an insect under a microscope.

She unlocked the door turning the key slowly and pushing it open wide enough to just fit a hand through. "Hello Dear, how can I help?" The few teeth she had shined against the lantern in her free hand while she smiled at Sir Isan.

"I am looking for Noah; I want to take him out training. He lives in this building, are you the shop owner he has let take over here?" Isan replied to the old lady after giving her a small nod of hello, somewhat taken aback from the toothless mouth.

"Ah yes, the young boy! What a brilliant gentleman he is, come in. He got an early night's rest after exploring the floor last night. He let me take over this shop so I have been setting up all night; it's a good thing you caught me when you did, I had just finished setting up." The door swung open completely and the smell of damp leaves hit Sir Isan's nostrils which nearly made him gag.

"That is quite the smell, are you a gardener of some type?" Isan asked while doing his best to smile at the old lady who had turned and started trotting down to the back door of the shop. There weren't many products on the shelves just small trinkets.

The old lady turned and gleefully smiled at the gentleman who was looking for Noah, "You could say that… I am an alchemist, I need my own private plants to use because it is an expensive job to run - I would rather grow my own ingredients."

Isan walked behind her and stopped at the stairs to get to the apartment taking a glance at the old lady who was walking to the open backdoor to the small warehouse. The smell was coming out of there but he didn't recognise any of the plant smells; the old lady turned to him as she got to the door and smiled before walking into the warehouse and closing the door.

'Strange lady, I wonder why Noah agreed to her taking over the shop below? Either way, I should see what Quin was able to teach the boy, even if the Noah isn't picked to be the heir he should be good enough to join the Knights afterwards.'

He took the stairs up to see Noah sitting on the floor cross-legged, humming with his arms out at his sides aimed up to the roof. Around his body, a white aura was pulsating with the occasional black streak coming up through it.

Isan clenched his fists together, he felt like he was in a room with a grown dragon sleeping restlessly. The power that the young boy was giving out made him sweat from his palm and back, he wasn't even sure what to say or do, he really wouldn't have thought Noah was able to display this amount of magical aura yet.

Taking a soft step into the room he watched Noah quickly open his eyes and jump up grabbing a sword that he had laid on the floor beside himself. He had it raised towards Isan and was staring at him with two clear eyes that seemed to glow with his magic aura. "Sorry Noah, I thought we could go do some training and see how much Quin was able to train you."

Noah lowered his blood-red sword and sheathed it before trying it to his waist. "Of course, that would be good to get some practice - I haven't gotten any in some time so let's go for it!" Isan could feel the enthusiasm from Noah, he guessed that it had become something that Noah was used to under Quin's training.

Isan took Noah all the way up to the commanders training floor of the Dragon Keep tower - It had a giant hole on the side to let in the commander's dragons, the floor was a stone material similar to the outside of the building but with lines painted on it to turn it into five large circles around 25 metres wide [82 ft].

Other than just Isan and Noah, Hallan had flown into the room and was staring at Noah as he walked. He could feel something was different from the last time that he had seen the young boy. Dragon's had always been able to sense magic differently to humans - the difference between the two was like one looking into a pond with dirty water compared to the other looking into a clear bond and managing to see everything inside of it.

Hallan blew smoke at Noah. Talking directly to him, "Little one, what happened to you?"
