Extra 12: I choose you! (14)

Latios had changed, he now had a purplish hue and much more prominent arms - "Tios!"

"!" - Giovanni's eyes widened in surprise as he had never seen this strange Pokémon, plus this unknown process of evolution.

"Latios, use [Dragon Claw]!" - Kurama exclaimed as Latios disappeared and reappeared in front of Mewtwo.

"Not so fast, Mewtwo, use [Teleport] and then use [Psychic]!" - Giovanni exclaimed as he noticed how Mewtwo's red eyes were glowing.

The armored Pokémon quickly disappeared from the spot and reappeared above Latios. He quickly launched a powerful psychic attack, only to notice how the damage seemed to not be as bad as he thought.

"That thing is psychic type?" - Giovanni asked in surprise.

"Latios, use [Shadow Ball]!" - Kurama exclaimed as his partner concentrated ghostly energy into its snout.

"Defend with [Reflect] and counterattack with [Shadow Ball]!" - Giovanni exclaimed as the armored creature followed his orders.

"Evade with [Dragon Dance] and when you're at a safe distance use [Calm Mind]!" - Kurama ordered as Latios nodded.

A red aura with black surrounded Latios' body as his speed suddenly increased.

Giovanni was surprised to see this because the strange Pokémon was much more troublesome than he thought.

"La-tios!" - Latios roared as his power increased by 50% - "Latios!"

"Okay, now use [Luster Purge]!" - Kurama exclaimed fiercely as he watched his Pokémon concentrate a strange purple aura on its snout, one similar to [Shadow Ball].

"Tios!" - Latios roared as it unleashed a powerful triangular breath at Mewtwo.

"Dodge it fast!" - Giovanni exclaimed, but to his fury, Mewtwo wasn't fast enough to do so - "Trash, use [Recovery]!"

"Not so fast, Latios, use [Anticure]!" - Kurama commanded neutrally - "Then follow up with [Dragon Dance] + [Thunder Wave]!"

"La-tios!" - Latios exclaimed as his body was again surrounded by the strange blood-red aura, then launching a powerful electric attack against his opponent.

[ARGH!] - Mewtwo roared in pain as he felt his body being electrocuted.

"Good job, now follow up with a barrage of [Shadow Ball]!" - Kurama exclaimed as Latios followed his instructions to the letter.

"Mewtwo!" - Giovanni exclaimed as he prepared to throw his Pokeball to return to the creature, only to remember how he had failed to capture his latest creation - "Shit!"

Kurama's eyes flashed when he noticed this detail, so he quickly ordered Latios to continue weakening Mewtwo and prepare to block whatever Giovanni would throw during the most crucial moment of the battle.

"You bastard!" - Giovanni roared as he released his entire team, a group of Earth-type Pokémon - "Attack!"

"Salamance, finish them off with [Draco Meteor]!" - Kurama roared as he released his senior partner.

"Roar!" - Salamance roared fiercely as it launched a powerful ball of energy into the sky, only for it to split into countless spheres that fell to the ground.

Giovanni's Pokémon, fell one after another, leaving only his signature Pokémon, a powerful Rhydon.

Salamance smiled disdainfully as he cast fire breath at the last Pokémon standing, only to snort disdainfully as he watched it fall to the ground unconscious.

"I guess that would be it" - Kurama said as he shook his head, only to throw a Pokeball at Mewtwo who was on the verge of falling unconscious.

"No!" - Giovanni exclaimed as he threw his Pokeball, only to notice how it stopped halfway - "You bastard!"

"I'm sorry, but I'm not leaving loose ends" - replied Kurama as he watched his Pokeball stop spinning, proving that he had managed to capture the Pokémon.

"Give it back to me!" - Giovanni roared as he pulled out a gun and pointed it in the albino's direction - "This is your last chance!"

"Bad choice" - muttered Kurama as he shook his head - "You shouldn't have done that because now my little friend is not happy!"

Giovanni frowned as he heard this, only to fall to the ground unconscious as a silhouette appeared out of his shadow.

Dragapult glared at Giovanni as he returned to his trainer.

"Thank you" - Kurama smiled as he watched his Pokémon enter its shadow, an ability that almost all ghost-type Pokémon possessed.

Kurama slowly walked over to Giovanni after taking Mewtwo's Pokeball, only to tie him up with a rope he had in his possession.

Without a second thought, he directly called the Pokémon League leader and told him his situation, only for a group of officers to arrive on the scene in a matter of seconds.

"Kurama-sama" - said officer Jenny from Viridian City - "It's a pleasure to see you again."

"Same here, officer" - Kurama replied as he looked at the police, only to shake his head - "But we'd better concentrate on what we have on our hands."

"Giovanni, the leader of [Team Rocket]" - Jenny said as she frowned, only to snort in disdain - "We've been looking for clues as to his location, who would think he'd be right under our noses?"

"What can I say, Jenny?" - Kurama asked as he shrugged - "There are times when the safest place, is the most dangerous place."

"It makes sense, I mean, we would never have thought of him being in this place" replied Jenny as she frowned - "But this is worrisome."

"I know" - replied Kurama as he frowned - "That Giovanni has taken over this Gym, means that the League is not as white as they say it is"

Jenny was silent before sighing and indicating to her subordinates to move the criminal.

"By the way, be careful" - Kurama said seriously - "Someone may try to rescue Giovanni, or just silence him."

"Ok, I'll be careful" - replied Jenny while nodding seriously.

Kurama was silent for a few seconds before looking at his new Pokémon - "What do I do with you?"

Kurama pondered the situation, only to shake his head - "I'd better think about it after you're able to talk."

The albino again shook his head before frowning. He quickly instructed Dragapult to follow Jenny and make sure nothing bad happened.

* * * * *

Two days had passed since the incident with Giovanni had happened, and Kurama had returned as Viridian City's Gym leader, though this was only a precautionary measure.

Dragapult had managed to arrest all the members of [Team Rocket] who had tried to rescue their leader, as well as some guys who had been hired to kill the criminal leader.

After being subdued, they were interrogated and the police managed to uncover traces that pointed to certain men who controlled part of the Pokémon League.

The current president of the League immediately took action and purged all those involved with criminal groups.

Gary had again gone to challenge the gym now that he knew Kurama was again the leader, although he was again defeated, albeit not as tragically.

Kurama gave him the medal anyway, because, unlike other Gyms, he did not give the medal to whoever managed to defeat him, which was almost impossible, but to those who managed to improve themselves during the battle.

Gary took the medal with conflicting emotions but nodded firmly when he heard that he could return the medal when he managed to defeat him.

Kurama had also spoken to Mewtwo, who was now without his armor, showing an appearance to that of a white bipedal cat, with a purple tail starting from its abdomen.

The Pokémon was confused because he didn't know what to do right now. He didn't know the reason for its existence, but after a small conversation with Kurama, he decided to stay by the albino's side.

Kurama had explained to him that no one knew about the reason for their existence and that the only thing they could do to solve this situation, was to simply do our best to try to find out for ourselves.

Mewtwo was still confused, but if he was honest, he was happy with his current situation. He wasn't being labeled as a freak or a creature that shouldn't exist while he was with his 'trainer', in fact, he was happy that all of Kurama's Pokémon were strong, something that made him feel like he was with his kind.

This was what Mewtwo wanted most, a place to belong, a place to call home, and this was his home.

Delia was a kind woman who didn't look down on him after hearing about his origin, Daisy was a shy girl who didn't show fear because of his appearance, and Kurama was someone he had come to respect despite the short time they had as companions.

"Today my son returns" - Kurama said as he looked at Mewtwo - "Would you like to meet him?"

[If he's like you say, I think we'll get along fine] - Mewtwo replied as he nodded calmly. He trusted Kurama, so there was no reason not to trust his offspring as well, not with everything he had seen and heard.

"I'm sure he'll be surprised to see someone as strong as you" - Kurama replied with a smile. He was happy that Mewtwo was slowly opening his heart with his family.
