Two days had passed and Kurama was currently sitting in front of his Gym.
Giovanni had been moved smoothly to the central base of the International Police, and Kurama knew that he couldn't escape now that Looker was in charge.
"It's a good fate for that bastard, don't you think?" - Kurama asked with a small smile.
[If I'm honest, I don't know] - Mewtwo replied through his psychic link - [I wished I could punish him with my own hands].
"Revenge is not a good idea, my friend" - Kurama replied while - "I know you're furious, but this will only make you lose yourself in a dark abyss."
[Philosophical thoughts, I've been reading books of this nature and I have to admit that they are interesting] - muttered Mewtwo while shaking his head - [And at the same time I feel that I can come up with an answer to my questions]
"That's good to hear" - Kurama replied with a smile, only to smile even wider when he saw a familiar silhouette - "I guess our conversation ends here because we have a challenger"
Mewtwo slowly looked off into the distance and watched as a trio of youths walked in their direction. One of them had black hair with zeta marks on his cheek, the second was a dark-skinned, slit-eyed, tall young man, finally, the only girl in the group was an orange-haired young woman.
"Dad!" - Ash exclaimed as he ran with his friends.
"Hello, Ash" - smiled Kurama as he spotted the boys - "I see you've had a few interesting adventures."
"You can count on it!" - Ash exclaimed with a smile as he looked at his father - "There are so many things I want to talk about with you, dad."
"I know, we'll do it at home" - replied Kurama as he nodded, then looked at his son's two companions - "I see that you guys have grown up too, I can see that your dreams are getting closer to completion"
"We still have a long way to go to reach our goals, Kurama-san" - Brook replied as he shook his head - "Although I have to admit that after going all over Kanto, I can say that my decision was the right one."
"That's good to hear" - Kurama nodded, then focused on the girl in the group - "And what about you, Misty?"
"I've met so many people and so many Pokémon, what I don't know what to say really" - Misty answered as she started to think - "My team has also grown along with me during this trip, so I can honestly say that I don't regret meeting Ash or going on this trip."
Kurama smiled again when he heard this before nodding - "But your journey isn't over yet, in fact, it's only just begun."
"There are still hundreds of Pokémon out there, as well as millions to meet" - Kurama continued as he looked up at the sky - "There are even Pokémon that have only appeared in legends."
Ash, Brock, and Misty, were excited when they heard this because they too wanted to meet these mysterious species.
"Well, we'd better save this for another time" - Kurama said as his expression turned serious - "As a father, I'm proud of how far you've come, Ash, but as Provisional Gym Leader, I'm going to show no mercy, so I expect you to give everything you have to make this battle memorable"
"I'm not going to let you down, Dad!" - Ash exclaimed as Pikachu began to release electricity from its cheeks.
"You never will, Ash, after all, you are my pride!" replied Kurama with a smile, only to feel a sharp pique on his head.
"Dad!" - Ash exclaimed in surprise when he saw how his father was gritting his teeth in pain - "Are you okay?"
[Relax, he's just unconsciously trying to remember something] - said Mewtwo as he appeared in front of the group.
Ash and the others shouted in surprise when they saw this strange Pokémon, after all, he seemed to be unregistered in the Pokedex, a similar situation to Ho-oh.
[It's a pleasure, I'm one of your progenitor's companions, my name is Mewtwo] - Mewtwo replied as he introduced himself to the group - [It's a pleasure].
"Oh, the pleasure is ours" - Ash unconsciously replied.
"Your psychic abilities and intellect must be enormous if you can communicate with us so easily" - said Brook with surprise and curiosity, after all, they hadn't met many psychic-type Pokémon with whom to communicate so easily.
[You are correct] - replied Mewtwo while nodding calmly - [I was created to be the strongest Pokémon in the world, and together with my partner, I will fulfill that goal].
"Created?" - Misty asked as she heard a word she wasn't expecting - "What do you mean by that?"
[I am an artificial Pokémon created thanks to the DNA of the Mythical Pokémon Mew] - answered Mewtwo simply, after all, he didn't feel self-conscious to say his origin now that he had partners to rely on.
"I-I see" - muttered Misty as she nodded weakly.
[Relax, you don't have to worry about me, I have accepted my origin, just as I have found what I desire] - replied Mewtwo calmly as he walked to his trainer and placed his hand on his forehead - [This will do].
"Thank you" - muttered Kurama as he shook his head - "These spontaneous memories are becoming more and more frequent."
[That just means that your memories are about to return] - replied Mewtwo as he shook his head - [Anyway, what did you remember this time?]
"A huge family" - Kurama answered as he connected his new memories, with the pictures he had seen - ". . ."
"Are you okay, dad?" - Ash asked with concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine" - nodded Kurama as he motioned for the youngsters to follow him into the gym.
* * * * *
The afternoon passed quickly and Kurama along with the children.
The battle had ended with Ash's defeat, though this was no surprise.
Ash wasn't disappointed either, in fact, he was happy that his father was still the invincible man he so respected.
Kurama had presented him with the medal after passing the test he had set for him.
The albino had always done this, or simply no one would make it into the league during his time as a gym leader.
"You've become strong, though you need to improve your control over Charizard" - Kurama said as he looked at his son - "That Pokémon has a bad attitude."
"I don't know how this happened" - replied Ash while sighing regretfully - "Charmander was quite obedient, but when it evolved, he changed for the worse and became unruly"
Kurama was silent for a few seconds before asking Ash to release Charizard.
Charizard looked around with a frown, only to focus on Ash, then launch a fire breath at him that stopped halfway - "Grr"
[Bad choice] - Mewtwo said as he levitated in front of the dragon-like creature - [Better change this spoiled child attitude].
"ROAR! - Charizard roared fiercely as he tried to attack Mewtwo, only to feel his body freeze - "Zard?"
Mewtwo sent Charizard flying with utmost ease with his psychic powers, before shaking his head in disdain - [I don't know why you feel so proud when you're so pathetically weak!"
"Zard!" - Charizard roared fiercely as he glared hatefully at the Legendary Pokémon.
[Oh? Did I hurt your little pride?] - asked Mewtwo disdainfully - [Then I'll just tell you one thing, you're much weaker than your trainer's rival Pokémon.]
"!" - Charizard's eyes widened in surprise as he felt Mewtwo look at him with disdain.
[I hope your performance is good during the Indigo Plateau, or I'm going to feel like I'm wasting my time] - Mewtwo said as he levitated in his trainer's direction and closed his eyes.
Charizard was silent as he looked at Kurama and his Pokémon, only to snort in disdain.
"Are you okay?" - Ash asked as he walked over to his friend.
Charizard gave his trainer a neutral look, before settling on what he had done during his journey. His pride had grown along with his size, but at the same time, he was losing sight of the most important thing.
"I hope this works" - Kurama said as Mewtwo just shrugged - [It all depends on the power of their connection, but if he's as you say, then I don't think it's necessary to worry].
"Hopefully they will reconcile" - said Misty as she looked at Ash and Charizard - "Their relationship has been a bit strained since Charmander evolved into Charmeleon."
"With all the time we have been traveling together, I am confident that they will go back to the way they were before" - Brook answered calmly.
"I think the same" - replied Kurama with a smile, after all, he knew that his son was someone special.
