Extra 19: Change the World (40)

"Not bad at all" - nodded Kurama as he watched how the workers had done a stupendous job in just two days.

"With the right incentive, and good workmanship, anything is possible" - replied the architect proudly.

Kurama nodded before checking some more before retreating and putting a seal on a distant place, though his expression changed when he sensed a familiar aura.

"See, Kon doesn't lie" - said Kon, the silver-haired Kitsune of about 8 years old.

"It's true" - said a boy who looked to be about 10 years old. He had black hair and was wearing a kimono of the same hair color.

Kurama raised an eyebrow because these two kids were obvious that they were his, the chakra they possessed was more than enough proof.

"Look, Kon now has two daddies!" - Kon exclaimed with a huge grin.

"Do I want to assume that you're the parent from the present, or the one who traveled to the past?" - The boy asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"It's obvious that it's our dad who traveled to the past, Ken" - said Kon as he let out a snort worthy of an Uchiha - "Remember that dad is at home together with our moms."

"Oh, that's true, but remember that dad has been going out lately" - replied Ken as he shook his head, though he quickly returned to his stoic expression.

"Please tell me you're not Kikyo's son" - Kurama said as he looked at the black haired boy.

"I told you he figured out whose son you are, no one is smarter than Kon" - Kon said proudly.

"Except most of our siblings who always catch you when you go to pull a prank, and they pull it right back at you" - replied Ken as he watched his sister puff out her cheeks in annoyance.

"Ok, I see I got Kikyo pregnant, that's weird and a little confusing, but I still don't know whose daughter you are" - Kurama said as he looked at Kon, who not only had fox-like features, but also had golden eyes and a strange moon-shaped mark on her forehead - "I can sense that your Yokai blood is strong, so you're obviously not the daughter of a human or a Hanyo."

"You still don't know my mother" - Kon replied while shaking her head - "I'm sorry, dad, but Kon can't over speak, or she might change a lot of things about the future."

"That's why I hate time travel, more so when you're immortal" - muttered Kurama while shaking his head - "That aside, I just want to know one thing.... Did you have a good life?"

The children looked at each other before nodding.

"Yes, we are happy, and our mothers spoil us when we want ~" - Kon replied with a huge smile as she wagged her long tail that seemed to be a cross between that of a dog and a fox.

Kurama again frowned because he had a strange feeling, though he quickly shook his head and nodded at the girl's words - "By the way, how old are you?"

"Hmm..." - Kon frowned slightly before looking down at her fingers and starting to count - "Two hundred years."

Kurama didn't know how to react to these words because he didn't expect the girl to be so old, although in retrospect, Yokai lived for a long time, so this speed of growth shouldn't be strange, or maybe it had to do with the laws of this world, well, whatever the case was, he decided not to say anything about it.

"The truth is that Kon is different from the rest of us" - Ken answered as he looked at his father - "She suffered from the clash between your and her mother's bloodlines, that's why you had to seal her until her blood stabilized."

"I don't understand what he said, but I think he's right" - Kon said as she frowned - "Mommy said something similar because the words were just as difficult."

Kurama frowned as he took the little girl's wrist and used his chakra to do a quick scan, only to find that there was nothing unusual about her.

"Dad did everything he could to help Kon, or at least that's what mom said" - replied Ken, Kikyo's son as he shook his head - "According to her, the only possible solution was to seal Kon in the sacred tree and wait for her aura to purify the two bloodlines so that it would be easier to mix them"

"I see" - Kurama murmured as he frowned - "I'm sorry, I'm sorry you had to suffer so much, my child."

"Dad apologized too, but I don't understand..." - Kon replied as she looked at her father with a smile - "Kon is happy, and has many siblings and mommies, Kon enjoys playing with them and talking to the other Yokai, Kon feels that daddy has nothing to apologize for"

"I see, that's good to hear" - Kurama smiled as he picked up the little girl and gave her a small kiss on her forehead.

Ken smiled as he saw that his father hadn't changed at all during all this time, and he meant that Kurama seemed to be the same person he knew, despite the huge age difference between the two versions of him.

"Well, I think you better go back home because your mothers have to be worried, besides, it's not a good idea for you to intervene anymore with me because it might cause changes in the future" - said Kurama while shaking his head.

"Ok" - nodded the two children before disappearing.

Kurama smiled when he saw that they were gone without so much trouble, though his expression changed when he felt a familiar aura in the place - "If you try to talk to me, it could cause much more serious problems than that of the children, my other self."

"Relax, I've lived in this world long enough to know what I do or don't have to do" - a second voice similar to the first one replied.

Slowly, a second Kurama appeared from behind a tree.

"Although that doesn't explain why you appeared in front of me" - Kurama said while frowning slightly.

"I just wanted to talk to my old self" - replied the second Kurama - "I just wanted to tell you a few things before we never see each other again."

"You say you won't appear in front of me anymore?" - Kurama asked with surprise.

"Yes, I will appear again in this era when I have finished your journey, and you don't come back to the future anymore" - replied the second Kurama while smiling slightly - "Don't worry, I know this because we will seal the well in the two eras, preventing travel between eras."

"I understand" - nodded Kurama as he looked carefully at his other self. He hadn't changed a bit during all this time, except that he now had a small silver beard - "Should I ask?"

"Our wives like it" - replied the second Kurama as he shrugged - "I won't explain the reasons, that's for sure."

"I understand, I don't wish to know either, I prefer to experience it for myself" - replied Kurama calmly - "Well, leaving that aside, I'd like you to explain a few things"

"About the reason for the destruction of the ley lines?" - asked the second Kurama with a small smile - "I think you're a little confused, the ley lines were not destroyed."

"I see..." - muttered the first Kurama as he felt it all start to make sense.

"It's good to see I'm as smart as I remembered" - smiled the second Kurama.

"I didn't think you were so narcissistic" - said the original Kurama with disdain.

"When you grow that old, some flaws start to appear, though it's nothing compared to not being able to control your instincts" - replied the second Kurama while shaking his head.

"You mean Hitomi, the Succubus?" - asked the original Kurama while raising an eyebrow - "Can you blame me?"

"Actually, yes, although that would be hypocritical of me because I did it in the past too, or rather, in the present" - replied the second Kurama with a slightly uncomfortable smile - "This is why I hate time travel."

"I share the sentiment" - said the original Kurama.

"I know, we are the same person" - said the second Kurama as the two started to laugh - "Ok, I think that's enough of jokes, I just want to tell you that when it's time for Kon to be born, don't do anything until her bloodlines start to collide."

"Why? That makes no sense" - said the first Kurama as he frowned - "That will only cause her deep pain."

"I know, but this is important, or she won't be able to heal" - replied the second Kurama seriously - "Don't ask how I figured it out, because I honestly think it's a time paradox"

"Ok, I'm not going to ask" - replied the first Kurama while nodding - "Anyway, I think I'd better get on with my business."

"Ok, by the way, don't help Kagome too much, her mission is more complex than you think, so just help her a little from the shadows" - said the second Kurama before disappearing.
