Extra 19: Change the World (39)

Two days had passed since the conversation between Kagome and Kikyo, time in which the priestess had been learning all she could from her other self.

Kagome was surprised at how smart the priestess was, after all, she seemed like a sponge soaking up all the knowledge of the future, though this shouldn't come as a surprise, after all, Kikyo was considered a genius.

Kimi wouldn't deny that she was surprised as well, and even shot glances at her daughter, as if she wanted to ask why she wasn't like that.

Kagome was a little embarrassed, though she quickly put this aside and continued to teach her everything she needed to, among all of that, how to use the computer, so she could look up information and study independently.

"Thank God we said I had an accident" - Kagome said as she let out a sigh - "Although I'm surprised Kurama-san managed to get me an alibi at the hospital."

"It wasn't much work" - Kurama replied as he shrugged his shoulders. He had faked an accident, using some clones as the main characters, in fact, the clone that had taken Kagome's appearance was still in the hospital, feigning unconsciousness.

"Couldn't you have caused a less troublesome accident?" - Kagome asked with a frown, because she honestly didn't like the idea of her friends and classmates, worrying so much about her.

"I'm sorry, but this is the least I had to do to make the lie that Kikyo lost her memory believable" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "Oh, by the way, I bought all the land around the temple, so I'm going to make a few modifications in case you suddenly hear the construction noise."

"Oh, I understand" - Kagome nodded, though her expression quickly changed - " Hold on! How's that you bought all the land?!"

"It's easy, money" - Kurama replied as he shrugged - "Besides, it's not like I can be every day living with you and taking advantage of your kindness."

"Actually, it's not much of a problem, you've helped us more than enough, Kurama-dono" - Kimi said with concern, though at the same time, she had to admit that their home was getting a bit cramped now that Kikyo was going to live with them in the guest room out of respect for their daughter, besides, she needed a personal space that she could modify as she wanted.

"So what will you do for while they build your home?" - Grandfather Higurashi asked as he sipped some tea.

"I'll actually go to a hotel, or maybe I'll go to my girl's apartment" - Kurama replied as he shrugged, completely ignoring Kagome's frown and Kimi's surprised expression.

"Oh, I see, that makes sense" - nodded Grandpa Higurashi as he continued drinking tea - "How long do you think it will take for them to build your home?"

"Hmm, that depends on when I step in, if I wanted to, I'd build it myself in just a few seconds, but that would cause a lot of questions" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "That's why I'll do it the old-fashioned way, less trouble this way."

"Makes sense, I mean, in this age Yokai are just legends or parts of our folklore" - nodded grandfather Higurashi as he continued drinking his tea.

"Well, I guess it's time for me to go, I still have some business to attend to regarding the construction of my home" - said Kurama as he disappeared from the place, leaving the Higurashi family + Kikyo, not knowing what to say.

"We'd better get on with our studies" - muttered Kagome as Kikyo nodded.

"I hope she's not the only one studying, Kagome" - said Kimi as she narrowed her eyes.

"We're both studying, mom!" - Kagome exclaimed with a red face because it was obvious that her mother didn't seem to trust her.

"That's good to hear" - smiled Kimi as she watched the two girls who could pass as sisters, walk to Kagome's room.

"Seriously, she should trust me more" - Kagome muttered with annoyance.

"Maybe she would if you actually studied" - Kikyo replied neutrally.

"Yes I do, though it's when you go back to your room!" - Kagome exclaimed as she averted her gaze, though this was more than enough proof that she didn't study at all.

Another day had passed, and Kurama was currently on his turf, ordering the workers what to do. He had already finished all the arrangements and had given them a sketch for the construction of the house, the rest was in the hands of the experts.

Kurama had been very generous with the workers' wages, so they were excited to get started.

"I guess that would be it, they can start whenever it suits you" - Kurama said as he crossed his arms.

"This is a perfect place to be able to build a home, although I am confused by the style you have chosen, Kurama-sama" - said the architect while frowning slightly - "This style hasn't been seen for many centuries."

"Let's just say that I have a huge appreciation for the classic" - replied Kurama with a mysterious tone - "Can you fulfill my wishes?"

"Of course, I was just curious as to why, besides, I'm thinking of using a classic exterior and a contemporary interior" - said the architect as he gave him some sketches of his plan, something he had been working on all night, after all, this was the biggest project he had been working on, and the payoff was worth every single sleepless minute.

"Hmm, interesting" - Kurama nodded as he stroked his chin - "I agree, though I would like the dining room and bedrooms to be classic, the rest you can modify as much as you like, as long as it doesn't create a disharmony between the two visions."

"Consider it done, Kurama-sama" - nodded the architect as he started to think - "As for the hot springs, we will build them behind the house in this area, it is the most prudent distance we can give it so as not to damage the facade of the home"

"Sounds perfect to me, and I want the pool to be in this area, right in the courtyard" - Kurama said while pointing to a specific area on the site plans.

"No problem, that will be the easiest thing to accomplish" - nodded the architect - "Although I have to warn you that we may have to remove some trees and plants."

"As I said, you have complete creative control, you can do whatever you want" - said Kurama with a small smile.

"That would be all, it only remains to sign the permits and wait for the materials to arrive, so we can get started, oh, and don't worry, we have chosen the best materials on the market" - said the architect seriously, after all, if the outcome was favorable, Kurama would give them a juicy additional bonus, one that would make them not need to cheat him in order to get money out of the materials as they had done in other less paid jobs.

Yes, they had done this, though it wasn't as much as other companies, and he said this not to feel better about himself, but because he had seen the reports of some rival companies and the havoc they had caused by embezzling funds from materials.

"That's good to hear, as for the salary, it will be as agreed and if I see good progress during the first few weeks, I'm going to give you a 25% raise" - Kurama said while smiling slightly - "I hope my trust in you was not in vain."

"It won't be, Kurama-sama!" - said the architect excitedly as he ran to his employees to inform them about the silver-haired man's words, confident that this good news will boost their jobs even more.

"Well, I have to leave, I have a pending appointment, if you need anything, you can call this number, and if I don't answer in 5 minutes, you can call this number, she will answer all your doubts" - said Kurama as he handed two cards to the architect before retiring silently.

"The good life" - said a worker as the others nodded.

"What are you waiting for, I want you to get everything ready to start, this job will make us rich if we do it right!" - exclaimed the architect and construction manager - "Stop looking at our employer and concentrate on the job!"

"Hai!" - exclaimed the workers as they started with the work.

"Oh, right, I was forgetting to put a seal in the area to soundproof the sounds of the construction site, after all, I want to annoy my new neighbors" - mused Kurama as he put his hand on the ground, created a small talisman with a strange symbol - "I think this will be enough..."

Kurama smiled slightly, though he quickly narrowed his eyes as he could feel how someone was watching him, and from the aura radiating from it, it was someone "familiar" - "Hmm, I guess with this my theory is confirmed."

The silver-haired Kitsune quickly disappeared from the spot, though as this happened, a small shadow appeared behind a tree.

She was a little girl of about 8 years old with silver hair, two long fox ears on top of her head and a fluffy tail behind her back. She was wearing a white with blue kimono, and was looking around in search of the man - "I have to tell mommy that Kon has another daddy..."

The little Kitsune quickly shook her head before disappearing into a silver seal.
