Extra 19: Change the World (58)

"Ugh... I can't stop thinking about all this now that I've been reunited with Izumi..." - Inuyasha said as he punched a nearby tree and toppled it with utmost ease - "Why can't I think straight?"

"That's the very thing I'd like to ask you" - said a female voice.

"!" - Inuyasha quickly snapped to attention, though internally he was sweating, after all, he didn't sense this woman's presence until she spoke - "Who are you!"

"Is that how you talk to your possible mother-in-law?" - Mikoto asked as she appeared in front of the half-dog boy.

Inuyasha was surprised when he heard this, more so when he saw the appearance of the unknown woman, who had many features that the girl who invaded his thoughts - "You said you're Izumi's mother?"

"Of course, my name is Mikoto Uchiha, the wife of Kurama Uzumaki and mother of Izumi Uzumaki" - Mikoto replied proudly, though she quickly narrowed her eyes - "Though it's not like you could talk to me so calmly when you hurt my baby's feelings"

Inuyasha again started sweating because he could feel a dark aura around this woman, one that a human shouldn't have, not to mention that she surprisingly, was much more powerful than him.

"I think it's time for us to talk, and maybe I can help you solve the problems you are troubled by" - Mikoto said as her eyes changed shape. These turned red with a strange pattern that didn't look like a normal pupil - "Sharingan!"

"Ugh" - Inuyasha could only let out a groan of confusion before losing consciousness.

"Let's see if you at least have the conviction to be together with my baby, and if your feelings aren't as strong as you say, then it won't matter if I make you disappear from my little girl's life even if she hates me" - Mikoto said neutrally. Yes, she supported her daughter's decision about pursuing love freely, but at the same time she supported Kurama's decision to keep her baby apart until this indecisive boy made a decision, that's why she had decided to speed up the plans, after all, she had noticed how sad and excited Izumi was when talking about Inuyasha - "I hope everything will turn out well..."

"Ugh..." - a male voice let out a groan of pain as he tried to lift his body, only to feel how it seemed to be unresponsive to him - "Where am I?"

"Master Sesshomaru!" - Jaken exclaimed excitedly as he heard his master's voice - " You are finally awake!"

"Jaken?" - Sesshomaru muttered with a frown as he tried to get up again, and in the process, having the same result - "What was it that happened?"

"That man, the same one we met during our search for Tetsusaiga, defeated you with utmost ease, Sesshomaru-sama" - replied Jaken as he tried to measure his words so as not to infuriate his master, though to his surprise, the Inu Daiyokai did not seem to be annoyed, but rather he was more he was perplexed.

"Was I defeated?" - Sesshomaru repeated with a frown - "And easily?"

"I'm sorry to admit it, but that Kitsune Daiyokai was a monster, one that could compare to your father, or even surpass him" - Jaken replied as he bit his lip.

Sesshomaru was silent as he let out a sigh - "I understand..."

"Jaken-san, is Sesshomaru-sama awake?" - A young female voice asked.

Sesshomaru looked at Jaken, who was sweating - "Anything I need to know?"

Jaken didn't get to answer because the sliding door opened, revealing a young girl with black hair, yellow and orange checkered kimono, next to a green obi.

"A human?" - Sesshomaru asked with a frown as he looked coldly at his subordinate - "You had an inferior human take care of me?"

"I'm sorry, Sesshomaru-sama, but it was the only solution I had" - Jaken replied as he explained the situation.

Sesshomaru decided to give him a punishment after hearing the explanation he was about to give, though he quickly understood that Jaken's words were true. It seemed that after Kurama defeated him, both he and Jaken were swallowed by some sort of portal that brought them to the outskirts of the human girl. Jaken tried to help him during his unconsciousness, but he too had been injured during the journey, to which he had no choice but to talk to the little girl who inhabited this home. The little girl was a bit skeptical at first, though she quickly decided to help them, a rather strange change of heart, though there was something that had him far more confused than the girl's drastic change in personality.

"Did that Kitsune Daiyokai know we were going to land near a human home, or was it just a coincidence?" - Sesshomaru asked as he frowned.

"I don't think it was premeditated, Sesshomaru-sama" - replied Jaken as he shook his head - "Though that leaves me with a question mark."

"Speak" - Sesshomaru said neutrally.

"Speak" - Sesshomaru said neutrally.

"Are our fates intertwined with this human girl?" - Jaken asked as he waited for some retaliation from his master, after all, he knew what a poor opinion Sesshomaru had of the human species.

Sesshomaru was silent as he pondered his subordinate's words, though no matter how hard he tried to ponder it, it was impossible to even think about it.

"Are you alright, Sesshomaru-sama?" - The girl asked with an innocent smile.

Sesshomaru stared at her silently as he felt a strange connection with this unknown girl, which confused him even more. Was Jaken right and was he connected by fate with this dirty human girl?

"Yes, I'm fine" - Sesshomaru answered neutrally, after all, he didn't want to accept such an idea.

The girl smiled happily before running out of the room.

"Sesshomaru-sama?" - Jaken asked as he looked at his master.

Sesshomaru didn't answer, he just closed his eyes, unaware that even though fate may have been distorted, it was slowly starting to connect certain dots.

"Where am I?" - Inuyasha asked as he saw that he was no longer in the forest, but in some sort of village whose sky was completely red.

"We're in your subconscious" - replied Mikoto as she looked around curiously - "This is your mental space? I was expecting something more chaotic, not a peaceful village."

Inuyasha didn't answer, he walked silently through the village as memories invaded his insides. Without him being able to do anything about it, he watched as a group of children ran around laughing while the villagers began to do their jobs. Everything seemed to be in perfect harmony, though Mikoto could feel a huge amount of negative energy in one corner of the village.

"Mental space?" - Inuyasha repeated as he looked at this strange woman - "What is that?"

"It's an area that your subconscious creates, you could say it's related to your personality, traumas or deepest desires" - replied Mikoto as she remembered what Kurama had explained to her when she taught them how to enter their own mental spaces.

"Traumas... Huh?" - Inuyasha said disdainfully as the two continued walking through the village - "What do you plan to find in this filthy place?"

"It's simple, mental spaces contain not only the deepest desires, but also memories or even a second personality hidden from your own knowledge" - replied Mikoto as she recalled the story Kurama told them about her other self.

"That sounds interesting, though I don't think there is another self in this place" - replied Inuyasha with a frown.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that" - Mikoto replied as she tilted her head and looked towards a corner.

Inuyasha looked in that direction and was surprised to see how a version of him as a child, was playing and smiling along with other children of the village - "Impossible, that never happened."

"It's one of your most hidden desires" - Mikoto replied as she watched the image disappear, showing only little Inuyasha, who was looking at them.

"Who are you, Onee-chan?" - Little Inuyasha asked as he looked at the woman, though his attention quickly moved to Inuyasha - "Oh, I understand..."

"Why did he change his attitude so drastically?" - The adult Inuyasha asked as he frowned.

"It's because I'm surprised to see you here, Onii-chan" - replied the child Inuyasha as he rolled his eyes at him - "I mean, I didn't think to see you here, I guess the others will be happy to see you."

"Huh?" - the adult Inuyasha froze when he heard this, after all, he didn't expect it.

"It's interesting that things are going so well, in fact, it's as if fate is smiling on me" - Naraku said while smiling slightly - "I'm finding the pearl fragments with utmost ease, my plans to leave this body are proceeding without much trouble, and such it seems that my false leads have driven that pesky little group out of range of my territory."

Honestly, Naraku was a bit confused, after all, he knew it was all being too easy.

"Am I overthinking?" - Naraku asked with a frown as he went about his plans, though nothing seemed out of place - "Well, never mind, when the time comes I'll sort it out without much trouble, after all, everything is under my control..."

Poor Naraku, the simple puppet moving under the will of other entities, so far from the truth that he is laughable, a simple actor who was slowly reaching his last scene.
