A hunt for Ancient weapons (3/4)

It was now a day later after Ian became Poseidon.

So many new questions popped into his head at this time, but he shelved everything for later. Right now he was on a more important thing.

This didn't mean that some stuff still remained unanswered though.

He already knew about the Empyreans king, the sky ruler, and he guessed about the existence of the sea ruler, which now had been proven as he thought.

It was the one that had gifted the mermaids with the ability to control sea kings every few hundreds of years. And now it had given the same thing to Ian.

This sea ruler called Ian as the bearer of Poseidon's will…

Ian started to feel more confident about their chances against the diávoloi… Right now he literally had an army of sea kings at his disposal.

He could feel them, and they were the same. And he knew that at his orders, they would move immediately.

When Ian was given Poseidon, all in the room at that time that were eating, witnessed it and even heard it.

So Ian had nothing to worry about, like apologizing for taking the ability from the princess or something like that. Especially since Shirahoshi still had the ability.

Also, now, Ian had no reason to take her with them. He still gave her the option of course, but as expected, she refused. When he had decided on her joining them, he had decided to take care of her as a big brother would do, but since she refused, he didn't press on any further.

He promised her father his help similarly to Whitebeard, in case they needed it someday. This was only natural, as it was the home of one of his crew members and family.

And with that came the time for them to leave for their next journey.

Since this was Don's birthplace, he requested to stay for a bit longer.

"Captain… I want to stay here for a bit longer." Don spoke up from the deck of the Odyssey.

They were all gathered there right now.

Ian didn't hesitate to nod.

"Alright, you can stay if you want. When you feel like you want to come back give me a call." Ian said.

Ian of course accepted. Everyone was free to do as they wished. He was not going to force them to do as he liked.

Also when he wants to come back, Ian can teleport him at that time as easy as snapping a finger.

Ian also asked if anyone wanted to stay with him, and this time Kuzan decided to stay.

Ian nodded at that. Before they said their goodbyes.

Then the odyssey was engulfed in shadows and vanished.

Their next destination was for the second easy-to-find ancient weapon.

Pluton.

And since Ian had already been in Alabasta before, it was easy for them to teleport there. Which is what they had done after saying their goodbyes.

Although Ian had guessed it was there, Robin had come out and informed him.

She directly confirmed it and said that if it was Ian then she'll trust him with the ancient weapons.

Ian only smiled back at her.

When they were still on Fishman Island, Robin had gotten the chance to read their Poneglyph that they kept hidden. So she had some new knowledge she didn't possess before. But the Poneglyph mostly talked about Poseidon.

All of a sudden the odyssey appeared above the Sandora River.

Then just as Robin was about to speak Ian said.

"This time I can clearly feel it…"

"You can feel what? The ancient weapon?" Robin asked him.

Ian nodded as he kept looking deep into the river.

Then he raised his hand and clenched his fist.

Then all of a sudden the river started to tremble, as waves grew erratic.

And then it opened up from which came the remains of a brutally destroyed and decayed ship.

Its size was huge, but it was mostly destroyed. Such a ship would fall off and turn to dust by a simple wave of his hands…

Ian kept holding it there in the sky as they all witnessed the ancient weapon Pluton.

"There is someone there just like me…!" Libell who was quietly held in Elene's arms spoke up all of a sudden.

Ian used his voice of all things to perceive this, and it turned out she was right.

Not but a few seconds later, a shadow of a spirit became visible to Ian and Libell.

But for the rest, they couldn't see her at all.

"Are you Pluton?" Ian asked her.

He was starting to guess what Pluton was.

The spirit shook her head.

"You can see me…" She spoke up.

"I was Pluton once in the past…Right now it should be her…" She said pointing to Libell.

Ian had guessed that it had something to do with Libell.

The spirit continued on her own.

"A Klabautermann, or a ship's spirit, that is Pluton! But not just any regular spirit… every few hundred years one special one can be born… it will be able to use the abilities of every crew member aboard it! And Pluton is thus born" The spirit said, and this time it appeared that she was done.

Her form started to become faint as if she was about to dissipate.

But Ian still had a question he wanted to ask her…

"How long ago had you gotten buried in this river?" Ian asked.

She looked at him silently for a few seconds before she replied.

"I don't know the current time… But it was since I was destroyed in a massive war against my king and Kingdom…" She replied, her voice a bit fond at the memory, and also a bit sad.

Ian started to understand a bit.

This kingdom should be the ancient kingdom. And her king should be the ruler at that time.

'But her feelings… was the king the one personally leading the ship as its captain?' Ian wondered.

"Then how can you stay until the current time?" Ian asked another important question.

This time the spirit didn't take long to answer.

"One of my family members had been gifted eternal youth via a devil fruit ability…" She said.

But if she could stay alive forever… then why is she dying now?

This was the question Ian wanted to ask but refrained from.

Still, the spirit appeared to notice this and said on herself.

"I have lived for far too long, it is time I rejoin my family… I only stayed this long to witness the coming of the chosen one who will change this world… As I was told before..."

With this, she finally dissipated completely…

Leaving only Ian and Libell, who was silently crying, aware of what had happened….
