The Outbreak

Day 0: 12am (I'm going to use GMT time for all countries).

At this exact time at every country a couple of people get off airplanes and immediately start walking towards the exit and buy a seemingly random hotel for 1 night while going on the phone and calling someone. After a few minutes on the phone they all leave and go into the nearest pub and order a drink, but with their drink is a small syringe the size of your pinky finger and then leave without even taking a sip of their drinks much to the surprise of everyone who saw the exchange.

The individuals then start walking and head to the closest large shopping centre or a music festival that will be on later in the day, once reaching this spots they just stand and wait, occasionally checking their phones.

Day 0 6pm. Spain

All the festivals are under way and in the middle of the Primavera Sound festival in Spain a young man in his 20s is constantly looking at his watch but as soon as it hits 6 he takes a small glass syringe from his pocket and injects it into his neck however due to the large crowds he isn't noticed. After 20 seconds the people around him eventually notice his skin is green and chunks of his flesh have fallen off while his eyes have turned completely black, this scares the people around him who start to try and get away from him but cant cause of the crushing amount of people, one of the people closest to him, a young girl in her late teens tries to ask is he ok but before she can ask he leaps at her and bits her neck tearing a chunk out of it then going straight for the next closest person. The girl falls to the ground with blood pumping out of her neck while people scream around her, then she abruptly stands up but like the man her skin is also green but less chunks fell out, she also starts attacking everyone in the close vicinity.

The "zombies" start rapidly increasing in number as they dont stay and eat people they just immediately start attacking the next person, at this point most people in the festival knows that something is wrong and they all run at the gates trying to get out before they are also killed but all the gates are pad locked shut for some reason (Sabotage maybe??) so the zombies quickly catch up to them and in a short minute or two every person that went to the festival is a zombie.

This happens all over the world in other festivals or shopping centres or airports and everyone in the nearby area quickly becomes zombies making large hoards before police can get to the scenes, when they get there and start shooting the hoard the bullets just bounce off the zombies, as just like the mouse their skin has gotten tougher to a point where normal bullets cant even dent them, the police also get quickly absorbed into the hoard making it even larger.

It doesn't take long before nearly everything in the world who isn't a zombie knows about the hoards in their country but most weak minded people think that the government and military will take care of all the zombies in a few days so dont really do anything different, but a few groups of people start to prepare for the approaching apocalypse as they are the ones who dream of this day happening, or they just didn't even realise what was happening... like an unassuming farmer called William as his family is more focused on farming than the news...
