They carefully walked through the now clear doors and finally made it to the next floor, after nearly dying and getting attacked by an army they had finally made it...yet when they looked around they only saw 3 people in the room, 2 dudes who both had weapons, one had an axe, smaller than Jack's so would be used as a 1 handed weapon. The other had a chainsaw sitting on his lap as both of them were sitting on office chairs, the other person in the room was a woman, most likely the one who had shouted at them and let them in. She was walking away from them not even checking if they followed and quickly went upstairs to the next floor.
The man with the chainsaw, a burly man who perfectly fits the description of a lumberjack. Stands up and walks over to them and starts talking immediately not giving them a chance to say anything.
"Hi how are you 2, I thought there were meant to be 3 of you. And you aren't 1 of them miss, but anyway thats not my place to ask, thank you both for coming to try and save us if you didn't get all those zombies to leave we would have slowly starved up here. The military have lots of food and water but it would only have lasted so long before we ran out. What even happened to all those zombies, no offence but you couldn't have killed them all there was simply too many but it would also be practically impossible to just get them to follow you and then ditch them later on. Oh and how did you even know we were here, I don't think it was very obvious that anyone was living up here and you definitely didn't just randomly come here. Even if you knew about the safe zone the military never gave an exact location, just a rough idea of where it might be."
Jack and Annabel were obviously very taken back with his head on approach and after he had finished talking they just stood still for a minute trying to figure out all of what he said before even trying to reply with the correct answers. Annabel is the 1 to digest everything first so she is the 1 to answer him.
"Umm well the crazy dude with the sledgehammer is out doing something and the other 1 who just punches everything is looking after our youngest member, which is why I wasn't here last time. And to be completely honest we didn't actually get the zombies to leave, they kinda ran after those 3 out the window and just ran off, the sledgehammer guy is away trying to find them to see if we can use them for something, and we found you thanks to another dude who sadly isn't here anymore. We were walking through here and he pulled us into another building to warn us of all the zombies and that this was the safe zone so we decided to see if anyone had survived and were stuck."
As soon as she finishes the man starts talking up a storm again, Jack and Annabel look at each other as they realise that they will be talking for quite a while at this rate...
Back with William things weren't going as well, which was pretty evident as he was currently running for his life with Bear beside him, having lost his sledgehammer again...and about 400-600 zombies directly behind him and quickly catching up with him.
This is a pretty big difference since he left the rest of them, but a lot had happened during that short time. Everything went wrong basically as soon as he left the office building, he was jogging around looking for the office that Annabel had described when he turned a corner and saw another small fight between 2 groups of zombies. This time instead of a few there were maybe 20 zombies all together but as soon as they noticed him they immediately stopped fighting and charged towards him. Since there was only 20 of them he decided to stay and fight his way through using his trusty sledgehammer, as the first one reaches him its head immediately leaves its body via a sledgehammer to the neck before the 2nd one gets tackled by Bear who clamps down on it and doesn't let go slowly dragging it away. Like everyone else, Bear knows that the zombies aren't good he doesn't know why but he doesn't really care about fine details. Now that 2 of the zombies have been dealt with, the next few zombies have closed in on William, 1 of them lunges at him but he quickly dodges to the left and after it crashes to the ground he smashes its head using the sledgehammer, splattering parts of brains and skull everywhere. The next 2 zombies lunge at him, 1 tries to bite his arm but before it can bite down on him, William drops the sledgehammer and punches it in the face cracking a few of its teeth and pushing it back slightly.
William shakes his hand and curses under his breath as punching the zombie felt like punching a brick wall. Before he can pick up the sledgehammer again the 2nd zombie attacks but is interpreted by Bear, who had completely shredded the other zombie like it was a chew toy, this time instead of dragging the zombie away by its leg. Bear just tackles the zombie in the chest and starts tearing chunks of rotten flesh out of it.
William finally picks his sledgehammer back up just in time to slam another zombie in the leg, ripping it straight off and sending it flying. The zombie face plants but quickly starts dragging itself towards him again barely stopping for a second. The rest of the zombies had arrived by this point, but they weren't as worrying, as he knew that they were weaker thanks to their speed. They all jumped at him so he quickly turned around and started running in the direction of their base, but after turning one of the corners he quickly stopped and readied his sledgehammer again.
When the first row of zombies turned the corner they were quickly met with a sledgehammer to the face which completely crushed their skulls killing them instantly, before the next batch of zombies could stop they ran straight into the dead bodies and started tripping and falling over them, this gave William the time to smash 2 more zombies into bloody pulps before they managed to get back on their feet again, he took off running this time, with Bear still beside him. They turned another few corners before William heard something that didn't sound good at all, the sound of hundreds of footsteps all in time not one was out of place. This meant that it wasn't survivors or military, as they wouldn't care about marching in line anymore. So the only thing that could make that many things march in time would be super zombies, leading an army. Sure enough as soon as he turned the next corner he saw them slowly marching towards him, he couldn't figure out if they met by sheer luck, or if they somehow knew where he was already and decided to kill him. He quickly turned around, threw his sledgehammer at the last few zombies from before and started running back the way he came, Bear followed him happy at the chance for all this exercise and being able to follow this strange person who also didn't like the weird grey people.
By the time William got back to where he found the first zombies, the army was only 8 or 9 meters behind him and slowly gaining on him, as soon as he took off running they stopped their march and started frantically chasing him down like normal zombies do. Bear was still with William, but instead of running behind him he was running beside him. If Bear turned down a street William followed him without even thinking, Bear didn't even look back to check if he was still following each time. Which made William think he was heading back to the warehouse where the military was trapped, which is where William wanted to go anyway with the army so it all worked out in the end.
As they were running away from the army, every 30 seconds or so there was a loud bang that got louder everytime they heard it...
The two turned another before William cursed out loud again, they had finally found the warehouse but William immediately understood why the military couldn't fight their way out. Maybe 700 zombies had surrounded the warehouse, and they slowly shuffled backwards before charging straight into the metal walls, creating the loud bang that William kept hearing. That must mean that another super zombie, or maybe more than 1, was leading this army as well. This intrigued William as he wanted to know what the 2 armies would do when they noticed each other, the army following William was the first to react. They immediately stopped and lined up in the formation they were marching in before they found William, but instead fo marching they just stood still and watched William and the other army. After the other army slammed into the warehouse another time, they noticed the commotion and took a few steps back from the warehouse before getting into huge rows of zombies. The larger zombies, the ones that were actually hitting the metal walls, were in the front rows while the smallest, and possibly fastest zombies were nearer the back. If they were human instead of zombie, and the marching zombies had sheilds and swords, it almost looked like a spartan phalanx, you would probably also say that it looked like the rows of zombies were about to beseige the other army. Seeing all this taking place William turned and ran away from both of the armies, but going closer to the warehouse, Bear didn't follow him this time, instead he kept running towards the zombies and the warehouse. None of the zombies tried to stop him as they were all focused on the opposite army, he managed to find the small crack in the wall that he went through to get out and wiggled his way through. When he came out the other side his owner was waiting for him, he immediately ran up to her and jumped at her licking her all over before laying down on the ground to relax and catch his breath.
William had gotten away from all the zombies and was near the warehouse, but if he wanted to get in he would have to get closer to the larger group of zombies. While he was contemplating on what he was gonna do, the first 2 rows of zombies suddenly charged towards the defensive zombies, while the middle few rows slowly followed them. The last 2 rows of the fastest zombies just stood watching, not moving an inch. On the other side of the large space, the defensive zombies became even tighter together, and it almost looked like they braced themselves against the incoming hoard. When the first rows hit each other, they didn't really move. It was more like a small shock wave was sent through all the defensive zombies, they were sent back a few centimetres but nothing too bad or too damaging, the first row of defensive zombies quickly recovered and attacked the attacking zombies back and managed to push them back a meter or two.
This gave both groups enough time to recover and make another attempt at breaking through, by this point the second wave of attacking zombies had arrived making the next attack against the defensive zombies even stronger than the last. This time as bkth sides clashed, the defensive zombies were pushed back by a few centimetres and a few zombies even died from the initial impact. They again pushed back against the attackers bit could barely push them back a meter, however this time the attackers too substantial losses, about 20-30. This repeated itself a few more times, and each time both sides had attacked the offensive zombies had more losses, however after another round of blows their was a commotion at the back of the defensive zombies, while the super zombies had been focusing on the current fight at the front, the fast attacking zombies had made their way around and attacked the unprotected back of the force causing massive damage...
