Save me my knight

Feng Hao's eyes opened and he mentally sighed. 'Was it a good idea to tell the other candidates to come to shrek?' Feng Hao asked himself.

He didn't know if any of the candidates would even get the fate planning skill and get the message. 'I have only met a few candidates, I'm not sure if they are all agreeable people'.

Feng Hao decided to think about it later, he had more important things to do than contemplate decisions he has already made.

Feng Hao slowly stood up, his stamina had quickly recovered so he was already in a decent condition. He still could not use his arm, if he took any large impacts to it than the bone would break. 'At least it doesn't hurt anymore' Feng Hao thought.

He was ambidextrous so even if one arm didn't work, Feng Hao could just use the other. He noticed that a shadow was rolling along the ground, Feng Hao looked up only to see a grey sky.

While he was talking to Carter, a large cloud had begun to pass over the forest. "Shit" Feng Hao said. Although it was a terrible situation, he didn't yell. Feng Hao could not remember a single time that he had raised his voice when it was not necessary.

'Actually' he thought, 'I do remember such a time'. A dark fire of hatred ignited in his eyes before he quelled it. He did not have time to think about the past, right now he had to build a shelter.

Although the majority of the trees in his vicinity were far too thick to cut down, there were a few thinner trees that could be cut down with a suitable tool. Feng Hao's current body condition was 9, it was incredibly high for someone his age, he might even be stronger than some adults.

Feng Hao looked at the ground, trying to find a sizable stone. If it had a jagged edge it would make for the perfect tool to cut down trees.

The secret room had books on every subject Feng Hao could think of. Some of them included geography. Although a little outdated, Feng Hao had learnt of hundreds of unique locations on the Douluo continent.

There were no caves around the large clearing so he would have to make his own house. There were two different types of large leafed plants in the area. Their leaves would make a good roof.

'Once I set up a basic shelter, I can make a fire, I can cook food with that' Feng Hao had a plan of action, so he got to work.

Feng Hao once again scanned the ground for sharp rocks, he spotted a rock that was half stuck in the ground. It was at this moment he felt something strange filling his body before exiting through his skin.

It was like a swirling galaxy full of invisible lights. Feng Hao bent down to try and pull out the rock that was stuck in the ground. Before he grabbed the rock, his arm suddenly moved and tugged on a different rock that was buried slightly deeper into the ground.

Feng Hao was unsure of why he had grabbed a different rock but he still pulled out the new rock. It was a nice triangle shape and one of its sides was about as sharp as an uncut rock could be.

'Perfect' Feng Hao thought as he blew off some of the excess dirt still clinging to the rock.

He lightly ran his fingers over the edge before taking a step towards a thin tree. The tree had very few branches and a sparse canopy. Feng Hao brought his arm back and swung the rock at the tree.

The rock landed on the tree and a chop sound rang out, the impact on Feng Hao's arms had also been rather minimal. He had prepared for the rock to bounce off the tree and his arm to turn numb from the impact, but instead the tree had been cut in half.

The thin tree fell away from Feng Hao and landed surprisingly quietly. 'Did I hit a weak point on the trunk' Feng Hao thought.

[special rank skill: fate planning, has levelled up, it is now level 2]

'Oh' Feng Hao thought, 'it all makes sense now, but when did I activate this?' He struggled to come up with an answer for a few moments before thinking back to when he came up with a plan on building shelter. 'So the weird energy in my body must have been fate... weird, I thought it would feel less gassy and more...' Feng Hao couldn't come up with what he thought fate would feel like, he quickly stopped thinking about it because it would only give him a headache.

Feng Hao took a step towards another tree but he immediately fell over. Feng Hao smashed his knee on a rock as he fell over. He felt extremely tired. 'I guess fate planning doesn't work on things not related to the plan' Feng Hao though as pain spread through his knee. He glanced at his stamina and saw that it was almost empty. 'How did that happen?' Feng Hao questioned what he had done to lower his stamina so much.

'System, give me a record of stamina usage.'

[lack of sleep: maximum stamina -1]

[used skill fate planning: stamina -2]

[attacked tree: stamina -3]

[lack of sleep: maximum stamina -1]

[stamina: 4/36]

'Not only am I losing lots of stamina to fate planning, I'm also losing maximum stamina due to lack of sleep.' Feng Hao felt that his life was becoming more like a game. 'I have a lot less stamina than I do vital stamina so I have to work effectively.'

Feng Hao glanced at the sky, 'should I just fall asleep here' he thought. Feng Hao considered abandoning Feng Long and the blond girl so he could sleep. He had been up for almost 24 hours so he felt terrible.

'I can't fall asleep here' Feng Hao thought. He quickly stopped using fate planning and stood up. 'Fate planning uses more stamina the bigger change it causes' Feng Hao thought. 'It really is a broken ability.'

He grabbed the sharp rock and went back to chopping down trees. Several minutes and a sore arm later, Feng Hao was done. Eight thin trees were laying down in front of him. Those would be the framework for a small shelter.

Feng Hao had to frequently stop and rest. He knew that his body would not hold up much longer. Everything was going slower because of his badly damaged right arm. It would take at least a week to heal. Normally it might take months but because Feng Hao had a body condition that was way higher than his small body should have, his regeneration was boosted.

Feng Hao began to pull the leaves off of some large bushes. The leaves were quite thick and would provide roofing and flooring.

If he stripped them, Feng Hao could make a thin rope from the leaves. He began to gather large amounts of leaves and tie them together. Soon, he had everything he would need to make a shelter.

...

Wan Ya felt something cold drip on her forehead. She opened her eyes and looked around for a moment. 'Where am I' she thought. Wan Ya had not registered that she was in an unknown forest and could be in danger.

She suddenly remembered that she had been hit in the head by something. When she woke up she was in this forest.

The pieces slowly fell together in her mind. 'Did I get caught by the bad people mom always told me to avoid?'

'If I was caught, then why am I here? Did someone save me?' It was at that moment, Wan Ya noticed Feng Long lying on the ground. 'Did he save me?' She wondered.

Wan Ya suddenly smiled, 'he must have tired himself out from saving me, like a knight saving his princess' She thought.

A mental image of Feng Long fighting off groups of men that were way larger and more scary than him appeared in Wan Ya's mind.

She smiled warmly and lifted up his body before hugging him. "From now on you are my personal knight. This is your reward for saving me, so enjoy it."

Wan Ya said this even though she knew he wouldn't hear it. A sudden rustle in the trees alerted her. "Who's there?" She asked, a slight waver in her voice.

A second rustle came from the forest, a little bit closer this time. Wan Ya's heart beat faster and she strengthened her grip on Feng Long.

There was the sound of scraping dirt and something knocking into trees. Wan Ya's overactive imagination made her think that a menacing beast was going to eat them. She held on to Feng Long and buried her face in his apricot coloured hair.

'Save me my knight' she thought.

Suddenly the sounds stopped. Wan Ya waited for the beast to attack but nothing happened.

She heard a bored voice, "what are you two doing."
