A Mythical Unicorn

Will's head was still full of Hazel when he made the drive back to Park City. The traffic annoyed him more than usual. He wanted to see his wife already!

But there was a string of car accidents on the I-80 that turned his hour-long commute into four-and-a-half hours of crippling boredom and frustration. He hadn't wrecked but he had run over a piece of debris from a different crash and popped a tire. Without a spare, he had to call AAA for help and they didn't show up forever because of all the other wrecks.

To make matters worse, his phone had died about thirty minutes into the drive so he hadn't been able to let Hazel know he would be home late. He didn't have her number memorized so he couldn't even borrow the AAA driver's phone to call.

She probably wouldn't notice though since she tended to get wrapped up in her art. The thought that she wasn't even missing him made this whole mess even more miserable. What a rotten day.
