Just About Perfect

Henry cried in his father's arms for a while before calming down. He wiped at his nose with the sleeve of his jumper and looked pitiful.

"…you won't tell Mum about this, will you?"

Will understood what he was afraid of. When you had inner darkness but someone still loved you, the thought of them seeing it and losing them in the process was too much to bear. Henry truly did adore Hazel and didn't want to let her down.

Considering the fight only happened because he was defending his mother's honor and he had promised not to do it again, Will could brush this one under the rug. What Hazel didn't know wouldn't hurt her one time.

If it happened again, he would be forced to tell her but Henry was a smart kid. The look in his eyes as his father gave him that pep talk proved that he could learn from his mistake here.

"I won't," Will promised. "But only as long as it doesn't happen again. Violence doesn't make anything better, trust me."
