Sky remained mad at Tanner for several days afterward. Which didn't bode well for him since she didn't remember kicking his ass, but everyone else did. It didn't take long before the entire town knew that Tanner had been beaten up by a girl and shielded by a water dragon. Unfortunately, even though it was the truth a lot of those people weren't informed on the level of skill and ass whipping that girl's dragon could dish out. Dragons were coming out of the woodwork to challenge Tanner for his position among the King's Guards. Completely down in the dumps and tired of the challenges he hid within the walls of the castle. Knowing this Sky came up with a plan to have a girl's night out without the scary babysitters. Convincing the twins they needed to go out for a night on the town so that they could find a possible mate Sky smiled deviously.
When Tanner had found out and informed her that he would be standing guard that night Sky assured him that it wasn't necessary. She'd already spoke to the High Lord and arranged two replacements and he wasn't needed. Since she was still angry with him, Tanner didn't argue and retreated back to his room.
April had heard gossip about several pubs in town with lively music, hot men, and plenty of dancing so of course, they had to go. Waiting until nightfall to make their move April pleated Sky's hair before hiding it all in a beret that was common for female fire dragons to wear. Sliding into her- I'm not a Queen or lady- clothes Sky pulled up her powers of invisibility and turned out the lights. Opening her bedroom door Alivia went out first followed closely by Sky. Pulling the door closed behind her April called out over her shoulder, "Good night Sky," before shutting it.
With that they made their way through the castle and out the front gate where they found Molly waiting nervously. "Molly I didn't think you'd come," beamed Sky giving her a quick hug.
"I've always wanted to go to a pub and dance. I'm just not brave enough by myself," whispered Molly finally having the confidence to say a long sentence without adding a lot of um's in it.
Locking arms with her, Alivia smiled as they all took off down the busy street saying, "An that's why you have friends like us. Because we are horrible influences and we are getting as drunk as sailors tonight because why," asked Alivia pointing her finger high into the air.
"Because we're water dragons and that's what we do," shouted April giving her a fist pump.
"But, I'm not a water dragon," stated Molly softly as if the girls forget.
"Nope but you're going to get three sheets to the wind," joked April putting her elbow into Sky's ribs. "Get it, three sheets to the wind."
"We get it she's a wind dragon and that was corny," laughed Sky pushing her April gently.
Their night started off on a great foot, but it started to sink very quickly when the realized a lot of the most popular pubs were Fire Dragon only establishments. By happenstance, they did find an Inn with an open-air eatery behind it that served alcohol within an enclosed fence. The music was lively and they even had an area for dancing. The only difference was this one was not as packed with hot men. Even so, Sky and her friends had a blast. They enjoyed it so much it became a routine every weekend that she no longer had to convince the twins or Tanner to go out on the town for the night. Even sneaking back into her room had become an easy science and completely manageable drunk. As time passed and the girls gossiped about it, the place began to grow in notoriety outside of the Fire Dragone race. It's not like the Inn owner minded, because it brought in more revenue. On top of that Sky and her group had become great friends with the owner's mate, Judy, and she welcomed them by name whenever they showed up. Tonight was no different when Sky and her threesome made their way through the gates into the back lot of the Inn. "Good evening ladies," called the Judy waving at them. "It's a busy one tonight, but I saved your favorite table."
Thanking her, the girls followed her to a table that sat in the back corner of the lot so that they could put their backs to the house. From here everyone could see everything including who came in and out of the lot or house. It's not like they thought they would be attacked or anything but merely out of habit. One thing was for sure, and that was Judy wasn't joking. People were everywhere and you weren't going anywhere without bumping elbows with someone. That didn't stop the girls from having their girl's night out either. While they were on their way back from the dance floor April was pulled to a stop by a big burly fire dragon. Swinging around to glare at him April yanked her arm free and snapped, "Hands off!"
Leaning in to get a closer look at her the fire dragon asked. "Aren't you that water dragon from the castle?"
"Maybe," replied April as everyone stepped up close to her mimicking her glare.
"Are you the one who protected that pussy ass dragon from getting his ass beat by a girl," asked the dragon before roaring in laughter and playfully smacking the chest of the man beside him. "What kind of man get's his ass beat by a girl. I hear she's tiny too!"
Chuckling Sky stepped forward and growled at the beast of a dragon. "He's a better dragon then you, I'd say."
"Oh," laughed the dragon patting Sky on the head as she glared up at him. "This bean pole must have the hots for him. Shoo, shoo little girl I'm having a conversation with this water dragon body armor for pussified dragons."
"I might be a bean pole in your terms, but I bet I can whoop your ass in less than it would take your friend to count to thirty," snapped Sky batting his hand away as she began to rattle.
The sound of her aggression had everyone turning as people began to rise to their feet. "What's going on here," asked the Inn Keeper as the music stopped causing him to come out of the house.
"This little girl has had too much to drink," scoffed the dragon before him, and his buddies laughed at her.
"This little girl issued you a challenge," growled Sky again as she rattled at him louder.
"Be gone little girl," stated the dragon rolling his eyes as he waves her away in a shooing motion.
"Well look at the Buch," laughed Sky gesturing with her thumb toward the retreating dragons. "That big ass dragon is too afraid to accept a challenge from a girl. I'd charge him and his panzy ass friends double for their beers. Let's call it the Tanner special."
"My Lady," scolded Judy as the brute of a dragon snarled as he turned dragon red eyes on her.
"No, I'm tired of everyone talking about Tanner like he's a wimp and challenging him for his position amount the King's Guards. This jerk thinks he's better than him? Ha I know she could whoop his ass, hands down," snapped Sky pointing at Alivia.
"Of course she could. We all know about Alivia Delmar, but you, I could take drunk with one hand behind my back," snarled the man as his horns pushed out of his hands.
An evil grin spread across Sky's face as she asked, "Does that mean you'll accept my challenge, or are you to chicken shit?"
Roaring at her the beast unfurled his wings announcing to everyone close this reply to her challenge. Instantly people started moving tables and chairs out of the way as spectators poured into the lot to watch the fight. The ones who couldn't fit within the confines of the fence perched on top of the neighboring buildings. "My Lady this is dumb he's three times your size," stated Judy worried for Sky's safety as she back up into the middle of the cleaning the people had made. "Don't worry Mrs Judy I promise I won't kill him in your beautiful establishment."
"Ha! Kill me! You think you could even touch me little girl," laughed the dragon. "Look at you. I could break you in half, but instead I'll be nice and break your arm."
"You accepted my challenge and by this crowd that's gathered you can't back down. I'm telling you now, you better come at me with all you've got or you'll lose."
Rolling her shoulders and her neck as everyone laughed, Sky tossed off her beret and pulled the pins out of her hair. Gasps and murmurs started flying around as the beast watched two braids fall down on either side of Sky's head. "Her hair is white," whispered one of the beasts buddies.
"There's no way," said the man looking at the gangly looking woman in front of him. "She can't be." Looking over at Alivia and April and back at the girl bouncing on the balls of her feet in front of him the man looked around the crowd. All of their faces said the same thing his brain was thinking. "My Queen! I can't possibly fight you," said the man as he took a knee.
"Oh you are and you will. The challenge has been offered and you already accepted. Because I heard the roar didn't you," asked Sky looking at the tightly packed crowd around them. As they all jeered she continued, "You said that Tanner is a and I quote, a pussy ass dragon because he got his ass beat by a girl. Well that girl who beat his ass is going to beat yours for as long as it takes for the water dragon body armor to count to one hundred. Now get to your feet and stop embarrassing yourself, soldier boy."
"One hundred is too long. You promised Judy not to kill him and I think I remember you saying thirty when it all started," growled Tanner as he and the twins stepped out of the crowd.
"Ah what the hell," complained Sky. "Why are you here?"
"Babysitting you as always my Queen," replied Tanner.
"You're two told me you were going to watch pretty girls shake their asses on a dance floor," snapped Sky glaring at the twins.
"An you're supposed to be in bed," snapped back the twins in unison.
"April, only count to thirty," snapped Tanner as his dragon took a quick glance at her before putting it back on the man who was threatening his Queen. "An whoever you are, you better go all out or it's going to be the longest thirty seconds of your life."
"I can't believe you're going to let your Queen go against me. You are a horrible guard and after this, I'm challenging you for your position. Fine then My Queen, I will show you why I'm more suited at protecting your mate then he is," snapped the Man as his wings disappeared back into his body so that it wouldn't encumber his fight.
Laughing Sky let her dragon up to color her eyes, add to her strength, and enhance her speed. "April whenever you're ready to count, and count load. I'll stop once I hear thirty and I'd hate to not hear you say it over the noise."
April roared in laugher before looking at the idiot man. "Oh man you're a dead man. ONE!"
Instantly Sky shifted from where she stood to right in front of him. With a well-placed throat punch, she started her onslaught against the man. At some point, she could hear Tanner screaming at April to stop laughing and count. It's not like she cared she said she'd stop when she heard thirty and only then was she going to. This man was going to be an example and she hoped it would travel fast and far so that Tanner could get a break from the challenges. Pushing herself to the max Sky became so focused that she snarled when someone interfered in her fight. When this person managed to block her first several swings at them she drew back enough to assess the new contender. Finding it was Tanner she growled at him as the beast of a man collapsed to the floor in a bloody mess. "That's thirty my Queen," informed Tanner before bowing to her.
"What I never heard April say it," growled Sky turning to look at her best friend who was wiping tears from her face. "I'm sorry I lost count I was laughing so hard. The look on his face. You got your ass beat by a tiny bean pole girl."
Roaring in laughter again April starting smacking her leg as tears rolled down her face. Trying to hold in her giggles Alivia covered her smile as she looked that the broken beast man's lackeys. "I believe you need to collect your buddy and take him to a healer. Your friend just got owned and had to be saved by a pussy ass bitch dragon who wears water dragon armor."
At that point she lost it and roared in laughter along with April as the fire dragons struggled to lift their friend's dead weight. "That was so awesome," squeaked Molly in her excitement as she hid her smile and laughter. "I wish I could fight like that."
"We could teach you," said Jerry as his dragon rattled at her.
"Hey don't threaten her," snapped Sky swatting him in the arm.
"What," asked Jerry confused. "We're not bad teachers. I remember teaching you."
Giving him the stink eye Sky took the towel Judy handed her and wiped the sweat off her face. "Sorry for the disturbance," apologized Sky looking at her sheepishly.
"It is no problem, my Queen. Are you leaving now that your cover is blown or do you plan to stay," asked Judy with a big smile.
Since her dragon was still on the surface Sky could see Tanner talking to her and her husband before she showed him the stairs that led to the roof of the Inn. It wasn't just one memory but several and they always happened right before Sky and her party arrived. Whirling around Sky glared at her three baby-sitters. "How long have you known?"
"Since the first night," smiled Tanner setting her red beret back on top of her head. "The twins saw you and the girls getting turned away from Hot Spots pub and followed you here."
"The Queen got turned away from Hot Spots Pub," gasped Judy horrified. "I hope that door guard got fired."
"Well it's not like he knew it was me and we got turned away form eight pubs before here," said Sky in the door guards defense. "All they knew was two water dragons, a wind dragon, and a fire dragon wanted in."
"Oh you do not pass as a fire dragon My Queen even if you were in a red shirt, but only a fool wouldn't know who you were. The entire city watched your ride into town. Even without make-up and a hat covering your hair does not hide your beauty my Queen. Any good Fire dragon would know you from anywhere. Plus we all know who all of the Kings Guard are which is strange that she was turned away," said Judy still shocked at that fact.
"So you've been following me here and hiding on the roof," asked Sky growling as the twins began rattling at Molly again. "Why do they keep threatening her?"
"Hang on there spitfire," said Tanner wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her back. "Leave them be."
"No! Molly gets hurt and made fun of enough! I a not going to stand by and let them mistreat her too," snapped Sky trying to pull Tanner's arm from around her.
Looking from Sky's angry expression back to the twins who were hemming Molly in tighter April huffed, "Okay miss I'm a horrible dragon you've been glaring at them for months now. I thought you were all about getting people hooked up and making babies. So what's different with those three?"
"I'm all down for people making babies, but I'm not okay with bullies," snapped Sky looking at April like she'd fallen off her rocker.
"Why do you think the Twins are bulling Molly," asked Tanner still unwilling to release Sky since his boys had finally gotten their little mouse alone and cornered.
"Because look at their expressions, they are angry. If that wasn't good enough their dragon eyes are out and they are rattling, all of those are signs of aggression. I won't stand for them being mean to her just 'cause she's a wind dragon," snapped Sky trying to pull free of Tanner again as he began to roar in laughter.
"Your dragon sucks at being a dragon," laughed Tanner causing Sky to glare at him.
"She does not," snapped Sky looking at her friends for back up. When neither of them came to her aid her look changed from anger to one of being offended. "Really? Thank's you two."
"Well she does suck at some things and understanding our dragon's language is one of them. You've always struggled with that," informed April as Alivia shook her head in agreement.
"Fine then what does that look like to you," growled Sky pointing at a red-faced Molly with two dragons who had her pressed up between their bodies whispering who knows what into her ears.
"That looks like two dragon's who's dicks are so hard their pants are cutting off circulation. Which hurts, by the way, a lot mind you. That is the exact expression on their face. One of pain because their dragon really, really want to mate with her. That's why they are in their eyes and that's why they rattle so that the dragon in her can see them and know their intentions," stated Tanner so brashly that Judy fanned herself.
"Dragon's only come up in anger," said Sky in retort.
"Dragons can come up for many reasons. Most of the time it's in anger, but others is when they want to practice mate with someone," stated April backing Tanner up.
"And a rattle," asked Sky unbelieving that she could have gotten all this wrong her entire life.
"It's a warning, challenge, or a call to mate," said Alivia. "Like that one day in the tent at the village of the metal movers. You rattled at the King. That was a call to mate by how embarrassed you were."
"That had nothing to do with wanting to mate," said Sky trying to reason everything out.
"Then what did it mean to you," asked April as her expression looked just as confused at Sky's.
"Okay, maybe I do suck at being a dragon because mine definitely issued a challenge. She wanted to fight him just to see how strong he really was. That's not how any of this works is it," asked Sky as the Molly rattled back at the twins who literally got weak in the knees as they groaned.
Watching as both of them adjusted the bulges in their pants she kicked herself for being so stupid. Growling she pushed her way through the group to sit back at her table. Gulping down what was left of her drink she inwardly kicked herself for being so dumb. How was it that this was so hard for her. Things like this should be second nature right. All of this should have been on a primal level in which she shouldn't need to be taught, but yet here she was. Stumbling through life obvious that dragons rattle when their dicks got hard. Sliding Aprils drink from across the table Sky tossed it back while she thought how many times had Michael rattled at her. How many time did he have that angry expression when he looked at her. Now out of all of those times how many were truly anger?
"ugg," groaned Sky thunking her head down on the table as she tried to wrap her brain around everything.
Being a dragon was too hard and understanding all the rules and contradictions were even harder. "Are you okay," asked April as she laid a comforting hand on Sky's back.
"I don't think I'm a dragon anymore," complained Sky wanting to give tying to understand it all.
"Well that's still left to be seen, but I've got my money is on you being some kind of a cat," joked Tanner as something heavy thunked down on the table.
Lifting her head Sky looked at the hug pitcher of some kind of red liquid that smelled like fruit punch. "We're getting smashed My Queen," said Tanner with a mischievous grin before setting a second pitcher down.
"Tanner," exclaimed Alivia not believing he'd gotten two pitchers of Dragons Blood, one of the strongest drinks within the fire kingdom.
She knew that if they drank both of those, everyone would be crawling home tonight. "I've got to go back tomorrow, but I'm leaving the Twins here. I expect them to be mated before you leave the Lands of Fire," informed Tanner pouring everyone a round.
"So you're going out with a bang huh," laughed Alivia lifting her glass in a toast. "Heres to Tanner and not being a pussy ass bitch dragon."
"Here Here," laughed everyone as they tossed their drinks back.
By the time everything was said and done, Sky and her group had the Hidden Owaysis hoping. The party only ended when the Captain of the Guard was called to dissolve the massive party. It wasn't like the group was being rowdy or anything. No, they were just loud and no one wanted to tell the Queen she had to go bed. When the Captain of the Guard arrived he raked his hands through his hair in frustration. April was passed out on the table, Molly was passed out sitting in Jerry's lap with her head on his shoulder. Tom was playing bodyguard while Tanner, Sky, and Alivia danced to their own singing. Trying to get the dancers out the door was hard enough for the guards. What was harder was trying to get throw, Tommy. "Tommy Sawyer," shouted the Captain of the Guard's as Tommy caught fire when one of the guards went to retrieve April.
"Mine," growled Tommy as he stumbled a little, placing himself between the man and Jerry.
Huffing the Captain pushed his way passed the leery guards. Rattling a warning at his sons the Captain scooped April up and handed her to one of the guards. Turning back he made his away back for the other woman when his twins snarled at him viciously. His son's had never acted aggressively toward him in their lives, but their snarls brought him up short. Looking at the tiny dragon sleeping in his son's lap he debated on how to remedy the problem. He knew he couldn't leave them here, but did he gamble on taking their little mouse from them. "I can get her," laughed Sky as she stumbled passed the Captain falling into Jerry's lap causing all three of them to fall over backward. "Wake up Molly we've got to go home!"
Groaning from under Sky's weight Molly complained as flames swirled around Tommy when his father took a step forward. By the grace of the Goddess, Sky managed to get back onto her own feet. Stumbling into Tommy she threw her arm around his neck and leaned in to talk to him. Headbutting him hard enough her teeth clacked Sky laughed, "Hey we need to get the mouse up. Help me and stop being all growly toward your dad."
As Sky tried to go back to assisting in getting Molly up, Tommy grabbed her arm. "I've got it, go help Tanner stand up straight," growled Tommy pointing Sky in his direction.
Stumbling backward several guards were pushing Tanner upright all while he growled at them that he wasn't drunk. Giggling Sky bounced her way over toward them. By the time everything was said and done, the Regent Commander and the High Lord was glaring at the group as they stumbled in through the front doors. The Captain of the Guard was yelling at his twins as he passed off the sleeping Molly to her grandfather. Tanner was sounding more like a teenager as his father drug him back toward his room where ever it was. Alivia and April were being packed by someone, but Sky wasn't sure who since Alivia passed out halfway home. Hearing some crashing behind her Sky laughed. The twins were currently being put into their drunken place by none other then a woman in a nightgown who was probably their mother if Sky had to guess. Grabbing both of them by a horn, the woman bowed toward Sky and the High Lord before dragging the snarling and rattling twins away leaving only her swaying in the hallway. "Did you have fun, my Queen," asked Shelby with a smirk on his face.
"I had a blast," giggled Sky stumbling into the guard to her right. Pushing off of his shoulder Sky smiled really big as she continued, "I guess I should go to bed now."
"Do you need assistance my Queen," asked the High Lord watching her stumble down the hallway.
Holding onto the wall for support Sky stumbled more as she shook her head no. "As long as the house stops moving I think I should be okay. I can just hold onto the wall," laughed Sky thinking she had everything under control.
"How far do you think she'll get," asked Shelby watching Sky dragging her body down the wall.
"She'd going to eat shit when she gets to the door," laughed the High Lord.
Making her way to the door Sky fell through it taking out whatever was on the other side with a loud crash. Laying on the floor laughing her head off everyone else couldn't help but laugh with her as her uncontrolled magic rolled off of her. Shaking his head Shelby pulled Sky out of the floor as everyone else rolled in laughter. "Alright come on my Queen," laughed Shelby picking up the giggling Sky up leaving everyone else where they lie.
"Ah why aren't you laughing too," asked Sky looking over Shelby's shoulder at people in the floor behind.
"I am my Queen on the inside. I am a member of the council and we don't roll around on the ground. Now lay your head down and close your eyes," said Shelby in a fatherly tone as he packed Sky toward her room.
Passing out before Shelby even took a hand full of steps Sky lightly snored on his shoulder. Reaching her room he summoned for some of Lady Inverness's handmaids to dress her down for the night. Leaving his queen in their capable hands Shelby laughed his way toward his room. When morning came every single one of Sky's group was moaning in agony pushing their untouched breakfast around their plates. No one said a word as they watched the hungover group dye slightly at the breakfast table. Once the High Lord pushed himself up from his chair everyone groaned as they stood up with him. Sky's classes were grueling as she nursed her hangover and tried really hard to pay attention. Unfortunately, her head was throbbing and her stomach was continuously threatening to empty its nonexistent contents.
When it came time for social studies her teacher instructed her to learn about a different animal today. So just like all the days before Sky found her mouse who was just as sick as she was. Together they discovered chickens would eat anything. Including the lunch that April had tried to retain in her body. After almost vomiting herself Sky and the girls sprawled out in the barn. Laying flat out on a hay bail Sky held a bottle out that Molly's grandfather hand given her. Sucking away hungrily the little grey and white filly emptied it and a second one quickly before flopping to the floor. Laying her head on Alivia's lap the group fell into comfortable silence as they watched the filly sleep. Sky hadn't realized she had fallen asleep until she heard a set of twin growls. Sitting up quickly Skys dragon rattled off the strange knockin\ sound as she tried to bring the world back into focus quickly. Locking eyes with two sets of red dragon eyes Sky took in their predatory stance. Watching as their eyes shifted off of her and onto something else Sky looked down toward the floor. Right below her was Alivia who was leaned back on the bales of hay Sky was laying on fast asleep. The filly's head was still on her legs as she slept along with Molly who was using Alivia's lap as a pillow. April on the other hand had ventured off from the group to the other side of the aisle. She was snoring loudly sprawled out across her own stack of hay bails.
Rubbing the sleep from her eyes Sky groaned before rubbing her temples. "I take it I'm late for fine arts class?"
"You killed your fine arts instructor so no," stated Jerry as he and Tommy inched their way toward the sleeping Molly.
"Then what are you two doing," asked Sky as they prowled toward the pile of bodies.
"Stocking a mouse," said the twins in unison.
When they finally made it to her side without waking anyone else up Sky watched the twins seemingly breathe her in. Thinking it was slightly strange Sky laid back down and pointedly ignored them. Blinking her eyes Sky noticed how dark it had gotten. Sitting up again Sky rubbed at her sore head. Freezing mid rub when she felt a set of eyes on her Skys dragon pointed in the direction the eyes were. "He's been there for a long while," said her dragon as they turned to look at her fighting instructor and Tanner's dad.
Her brain was still muddled as Sky took in her soundings. Looking down toward where everyone else had been moments ago Sky smiled. The filly was now gone and Alivia had fallen over at some point and was using Tom's hip as a headrest. Molly was squished between the twins and April was still snoring loudly from where she lay. Realizing that she must have fallen asleep again Sky turned back toward the two men who were sitting in a set of chairs glaring at her. Apologizing to the both of them Sky kicked Tom in the butt to wake him up. Snarling awake Alivia let loose a startled scream as Tom jumped to his feet causing her to fall. Copying his brother, Jerry snarled as well as both of their dragons pushed to the surface covering their body in scales as their wings pushed through their backs. Letting out a startled squeak of her own Molly practically crawled into Avilia's lap as flames danced around the twins who were spoiling for fight. Letting out her own rattle April fell off her bed as tiny horns pushed from her head. "April you've got horns," exclaimed Sky pushing her way through the growling torches. "Those are so cool! Hey, Alivia check it out," laughed Sky turning Aprils face toward Alivia.
"What no fair," grumbled Alivia finally taking in her environment and realizing that there wasn't any danger.
Pulling on her powers Alivia drenched the two angry twin dragons who were will on high alert. Spitting and sputtering the twin's dragons rattled at the woman who was taking their mouse away. Hearing a rattle come from behind them the twins turned in unison toward the danger as their dragons replied in like. Placing themselves between their mouse and the danger the twin's dragons took up an aggressive stance. "My Queen, if you would be so kind," said her instructor bringing her attention from April's newly sprouted horns toward him. "Can you three leave Molly right there and walk slowly toward us," continued the instructor as the twins lit themselves on fire again.
"Sure," replied Sky shrugging her shoulders and standing up.
"Um, why must I stay," asked Molly so quietly they almost didn't hear her.
"Because Sky woke them up too quickly. Their dragons thought you were in danger and their other half is still fast asleep," informed Tanner's Dad as he slowing rose from his chair.
April and Alivia kept low to the ground as they practically crawled toward the older dragons. Not understanding the volatility of the situation Sky mosied over toward her fighting instructor as if two deadly dragons weren't hemming Molly in and threatening to burn the barn down. "Molly," shouted her grandfather as he rushed into the barn from the other side.
Snarling at him as well, Jerry turned to face a new threat, leaving Tom to continue to watch the other side. Looking slightly scared and sheepish her grandfather looked at Sky and the group before glancing back at his granddaughter. "They were all in here asleep and Sky kicked one of the twins. Not sure which one, to wake them up," informed Tanner's dad at the look of panic on the elder dragons face.
"Oh, I was worried for a bit there," said the elder dragon breathing a sigh of relief. "I will leave them to it then."
With that, the elder dragon turned and left, to Molly's udder horror and Sky's confusion. "He's not worried about her," asked Sky watching the elder dragon walking away.
"Nope because nothing is getting pasted them to get to her. We should leave to," informed Tanner's father as he gently took Sky's arm and pulled her out of the barn.
"What why? We can't just leave poor Molly there in the middle of twirling firestorms," complained Sky looking back at Molly's betrayed expression.
"Yes we can, and we will," informed Tanner's father as he continued to pull her along behind him.
Laughing both Alivia and April winked at her before waving goodbye. "You have fun," called April over her shoulder before jogging to catch up with Sky.
"How is any of that going to be fun," asked Sky glaring at her friends who seemed to be laughing at Molly's expense.
"We got this," stated Alivia when she caught up with them. "We'll have her dressed and down to the training grounds in no time."
"An please explain to her…" pausing Tanner's dad looked back at the barn where the light of the twin's fire was clearly evident in the darkening stables. "That," he continued as he waved his hand in the direction of the barn.
"No problem," replied April as she and Alivia began to pull Sky toward her room.
As Sky cleaned up and, changed clothes to get ready for sparring practice, the girls explained how protective dragons could be of their mates. They also broke it down toddler style for her as she tried to process what they were saying. Once everything was done Sky huffed as she plopped down in a chair to pull on her boots. "I guess I'm just a horrible dragon. I don't understand any of it. My dragon doesn't understand it either, so you can't say it's instinctual. Plus why did she look scared?"
Rolling her eyes April gave a snort, "Probably because she's worried the two of them will claim her when we leave. I'm one hundred present sure she's never practice mated with anyone and she's got two dragons that want to fill her holes."
"April! That's so crude," chided Alivia.
Sitting there for a moment thinking about it Sky cringed, "Do you think they would both really try to mate with her at the same time?"
"The twins share everything," informed Alivia. "They don't take turns."
Sky's eyes grew round as everything came together, "You're saying that one of them is going to put it up her pooper?"
Roaring in laughter April choked out, "Or her mouth," before rolling in the floor laughing.
"Don't look so horrified Sky," laughed Alivia finding it funny, but not as funny as April. "It's actually pleasurable."
"You've...."
"Yep."
"April?"
Wiping the tears from her face April fixed her clothes while replying, "I haven't had a male dragons member up there, but I've dabbled."
"Really," asked Sky as this topic opened up an entirely new section of unanswered questions in her head.
Thinking about unanswered questions, Sky turned back to April, "When did your dragon get horns?"
"You don't remember the day you told me to let William join the King's Guard because it would piss my aunt and uncle off to no end. That being in the King's Guard would make my brother higher ranking than them, and how they would have to bow to him when he returned home to find a mate," asked April watching the memories pass behind Sky's eyes before she shrugged her shoulders.
"Yeah I think so, I was very tired."
"Yes and you placed your forehead against mine," added April trying to solidify the memory.
"Okay I remember, what about it?"
"I had horns that day. It was the first time my dragon had been that close to the surface. Do you not remember."
Try as she might Sky didn't remember April having horns, but she did remember-ish that day. "Alivia do you have horns," asked Sky as the group left her room and headed toward the training ground.
"Of course horns always come before wings," informed Alivia.
"So the next thing I should get are horns," said Sky as she became lost in thought. "I wonder what kind of horns I'll have."
"Well technically you should already have them since you've had your first real season," stated Alivia.
"How so," asked Sky dragging her thoughts back to the present and off all of the horn designs nature had to offer.
"Well the first thing you should get is eyes, then claws, and scales. From there you'd get your horns, wings, and then your body will bleed. The blood is what says to males that you are ready to breed, and to breed your dragon has to be mature."
Pausing as her bottom lip stuck out in a pout Sky frowned, "Are you saying I don't have horns or wings?"
"No I'm saying you're weird because you came into season before your dragon is even mature enough to carry babies. You're just a freak of nature," replied Alivia with a stern expression before it fell away to a massive grin.
Laughing Sky shook her head, "I'll take that I guess. After all, I am mated to an unmateible dragon.
Making it to her fighting class with only a minimal headache, Sky left with a massive one. On top of that, she now hurt all over because her instructor punished her for last night, and the barn incident. Well not really, but that's what Sky was telling herself because he didn't give her an inch. She was pretty sure he pushed a little harder than normal because of it, but then again maybe not. All she knew was she spent supper in the tub nibbling bread because she still felt like death warmed over that had just been tenderized.
Once she climbed out of the cold bathwater Sky drug herself to her bed and passed out. Grumbling as someone shook her awake Sky wondered who was trying to walk her. No one shook her awake. April always jabbed her in the side really hard or hit her with a pillow. Alivia would yell at her and kick the bed, but none of them ever shook her gently. Turning glowing blue eyes onto a worried face of Molly, Sky sat up quickly. Letting her dragon descend Sky took in the darkroom and the open door on her balcony before turning back to Molly. "Molly what's a matter," asked Sky swinging her legs out of bed.
"I don't know who else to go to," whimpered Molly as the smell of pain and blood met Sky's nose.
Crawling out of bed quickly Sky lit the lamp beside the bed. "What happened? Did the twins hurt you," asked Sky as her anger began to boil over?
"No….I don't think so," whispered Molly as tears rolled down her face.
Watching Molly wince again she hugged her quickly before pulling back. "Then tell me where it hurts. I smell blood and you're in pain."
Rubbing at the tears that were streaming down her face Molly sniffled before she pulled her shirt off over her head. The first thing Sky noticed was the duel set of teeth marks on either of her shoulders. "They mate marked you," said Sky lightly touch one and hearing Jerry's voice before touching the other. Noticing the beads of sweat rolling down between Molly's breast Sky laid her hand right above them. "Molly you're burning up."
"Funny," said Molly as she shivered, "I can't seem to get warm enough and my back," whimpered Molly holding back a sob. "I hurt's so much Sky I… I…. I don't know what to do."
Pulling Molly to her Sky looked over Molly's shoulder as she held her close. Blood freely rolled down Molly's back from two spots right at her shoulder blades. Remembering what had happened to Alivia in the woods that day Sky panicked a little. Reaching down she grasped her connection with Tanner and yanked hard. Feeling his worry Sky remembered that he had flown home early that morning. Scrambling around for Aprils and Alivia's she yanked at them as two identical dragon roars echoed off the mountains outside. Barreling through the doors April and Alivia looked at Sky and then at the half-naked woman in arms and out the door as another roar shock the heavens. "I'll get the High Lord, you go get the doctor, and you to go get Mr. Macingvale," ordered Alivia as she shoved one of Sky's door guards when they didn't move fast enough.
Molly cried and every so often she'd let out a painful squeak as her body shivered. The roars and a crashing sound could be heard outside but Sky couldn't be bothered by that the moment. It felt like ages had passed before April and the doctor rushed in followed shortly by Alivia and the High Lord. Dropping to his knees right behind Molly the doctor inspected the two bleeding spots. "I need more light," growled the Doctor, and just like that the room light up like it was day time. Every lamp plus some were blazing bright as the doctor laid his hand on Molly causing her to scream.
Grunting with the force of Molly's hug her Sky asked, "They aren't stuck are they? Please don't tell me they're stuck."
Sky didn't want them to do to Molly what they had to do to Alivia. Molly was so small, Sky knew they'd break her, and Sky really liked the mouse. Falling over as the building shook the doctor tried to reply but Sky couldn't hear him over the deafening roars. Hearing busting glass as something crashed into her room Sky looked at the big red snouts. "My Queen you need to let Molly go right now," shouted the High Lord as he rushed toward her.
Before he reach her a column of fire engulfed them. Sky's dragon was instantly on the surface shielding her delicate skin with her fur and feathers. Looking at her arms Sky could the white feathers clearly as the flames passed harmlessly over them. Looking down at Molly, Sky could see her dragon was on the surface too and her scales were a kaleidoscope of colors swirling between light blue and red. Holding her tightly as the fire ebbed Molly began to shake again as she whimpered. April and Alivia were trying desperately to put the fire out that was left behind only for another wave of flames to fill the room again. Rubbing Molly's lower back as she began to cry harder Sky watched as something moved in the flames to her left. The sound of her rattling knocking sound caused Molly to freeze within her arms. "Sky," whimpered Molly as the smell of fear began to float within the flames with them.
"Something is in the flames with us," growled Sky as the sound rolled out of her again in warning.
When the flames dissipated this time, Sky found Tommy crouched to her left. His dragon was as far up as it could go without shifting. Bright red scaled skin shook with the dragon's closeness as he bared his dragon teeth at her. "My Queen you need to get out of there," shouted the High Lord with panic in his eyes.
"No not until the Doctor helps Molly," snapped Sky looking down at Molly's back again.
"She doesn't need my help she needs theirs," stated the doctor pointing at Tommy and then at Jerry who had shifted that this point.
"How are they going to help if they are stuck," asked Sky in a panic herself, worried about the blood that was trickling down Molly's back.
"They aren't stuck," stated the doctor with a confused look on his face before turning toward Aliva and April. "Why is she so worried about them being stuck?"
"Mine got stuck and I almost died," replied Alivia watching the twins closely as they inched their way toward Sky and Molly. "Her dragon is a lot more mature than mine. She just needs more contact with them and they should come right out," continued Alivia in a calm and reassuring voice.
"Are you sure," asked Sky ignoring the two male dragons practically on top of them as she watched another drop of blood roll down her back.
"See how the bleeding is slow and sluggish. That's how it should have been," informed April.
"It hurt, it hurts so much," cried Molly which had the twins instantly at her side.
Clicking at Sky in submission both twins tried to slide themselves between Sky and Molly. Moving slowly as if not to enrage Sky, she turned her attention from them to the sharp intake of breath. "By the Godness look at that," exclaimed the High Lord as the twins managed to peal Molly off of Sky.
"This isn't the first time that kind of thing has happened," informed April as Molly latched onto Jerry and sunk her teeth into his shoulder while she cried.
"She got squished between Samuel and his mate the first time he met her. We thought he was going to claim his mate with Sky in the middle. That was a bit awkward, to say the least, but they don't seem to mind her at all," added Alivia as both twins gave Molly the alligator style rumble as they tried to soothe her.
"Are you sure she's going to be okay," asked Sky and her dragon as she moved away from the three of them and headed toward her closet for a new set of clothes.
"If not I will be right here my Queen," replied the Doctor before sending someone off for a chair.
Exiting the closet Sky sat in the burnt floor with her knees pulled up to her chest. Minutes seemed to tick back so slowly and the smell of blood began to thicken in the air. "How long is this supposed to take? She's really hurting and now the skin on her bark is beginning to burn," asked Sky as her dragon kept a close eye on her friend with worry.
"At max about thirty minutes my Queen, but her back shouldn't burn," informed the Doctor.
"It would if she was also getting her mating mark at the same time. Pour girl can't catch a break and is getting a double whammy," said the High Lord in a sorrowful tone.
"My Lord you summoned me," came an old and winded voice from somewhere out in the hallway.
"Oh yes, Mr. Macingvale you're going to need to pack your granddaughter's stuff-"
"Are you sending her away? IS it because of the Sawyer twins? I am sorry my Lord if my granddaughter has overstepped her place, but she's my only family," interrupted Mr. Macingvale. "I promise I'll talk to her about her place in the world. Please I beg of you don't send her away."
Turning toward the door Sky looked at the High Lords devilish expression. "Well, I guess you'll just have to go with her so pack everything. I'd really hate to lose my best horse trainer, but if it can't be helped. You'll have a week to get everything ready to go," informed the High Lord glancing back at Molly and the twins as the two of them traded out.
Watching her sink her teeth into the other twin with a whimper the High Lord turned back as Mr. Macingvale replied, "If that is what pleases you, Milord."
"It doesn't but she is your granddaughter. Oh and I'm going to need a bag of her clothes. It looks like she's going not going to be leaving the castle for the next week or so," replied the High Lord as the squishing sound pulled his attention back to the room as the tangy scent of blood wafted out into the hallway.
"Yay, they're out! How cool are those," exclaimed Sky crawling closer to Molly to get a closer look at her wings before rushing off.
"That's Molly's blood," snarled Mr. Macingvale as Molly's grandfather pushed his way passed the doctor and High Lord only to back peddle back out into the hallway.
"I've never seen wings like these," said Sky quickly setting down two buckets of water. Handing one rag to Jerry. "Here this one is cold water it'll make her back feel better. Just lay it on it and change it out so often when it feels warm."
Dunking her other rag in the warm water Sky began to clean off her blue and red wings. To Sky they were the prettiest wings ever. The bone structure of the wing was a deep red with the thin leather between the bones was a vibrant color blue. Never in her life had she seen a multicolored dragon like this. Bella came close but her wings were a solid grey. "Oh come on now grandpa don't cry," laughed the High Lord drawing Sky's attention from where she was cleaning up Molly's other wing.
"My babies, baby is all grown up," snuffled Molly's grandfather from somewhere in the hallway.
"And mated to the King's Guard no less. Show some dignity old chap. Are you still going to be leaving with your granddaughter? Cause I'd really hate to lose you but I understand," joked the High Lord as his voice seemed to get farther away.
"No, I guess she won't be needing me.." replied Molly's grandfather as his voice grew so faint that Sky couldn't hear him anymore.
Once Molly was all cleaned up, Sky left with April and crawled into bed with her since her room was a charred mess. Snuggling into April Sky closed her eyes and left her long day behind her.
