Questions Left Unawnsered.

The next day Kyoto woke up early, brushed his teeth, cleaned his room, and left early for school so that he could bathe using the academies facilities sense he didn't have any.

A group of three students walked into the locker room outside the bath house talking and laughing before they saw him and suddenly became quiet ducking behind a row of lockers making sure it was far away from the one he was in. "Hey guys I think we should come back later." One of them said.

"Are you kidding me Mark, no way, I don't want to let this sweat sit on me for any longer than it has to, there's three of us, let's just teach him a lesson."

"Would you shut up…? If he hears you he might kill us all." The boy called mark said

The sensible one in the group seemed to object. "Hey come on, he doesn't seem like he'd kill anyone, he'd probably just beat us up at worst."

Kyoto easily heard every word that they were saying. I wonder if I should interrupt them… Nah I'm curious to find out what their decision ends up being.

"Let's just talk to him." One of the three stood up and walked around the row of lockers.

"Yo…" he said crossing his arms over his clearly defined muscular chest wearing nothing but a thin second skin issued by the government too all academy students.

"Hey listen, Naru right?"

"Yea, usually there's some other words in front of it though."

"… You mean like a first name, I'm sorry I don't know it."

"Haha, no actually that's not what I mean, hey you should really find yourself some better friends… The ones you have now are still hiding behind the lockers."

The one prone to violence came out fists raised yelling. "You got something to say, say it to my face."

"Something to say to you? Let me think… No I was just talking to this guy."

He suddenly got very angry and threw a punch which was dodged as easily as the next three.

"You alright buddy, not getting tired are you?"

He missed a few more attacks before someone else came in the room and stopped him.

"Naru what are you doing picking fights with these people."

"Right…" He responded as if he was board. "Three against one and it's my fault.

"Acumen Logan, he was trying to take the bath all to himself and then began mocking us."

"Is that so, Naru you know the rules, what do you have to say for yourself."

"Well actually, I don't know the rules you're talking about. I don't really care about them either so I usually just do whatever I want. This is kind of boring now so I'm going to go." He started walking away towards the bath

"You can't take the entire bathhouse to yourself Naru."

"I really don't care if you join me or not." He left through the door.

Eventually all four of the other men joined him also wearing there mesh gear and sat awkwardly not saying a word whether it be out of fear or simply being bad at being social.

"So you're the smart one." Kyoto said braking the silence looking at the man he didn't recognize sense he was still hiding when he left.

"Well, I suppose I have the highest grade scores, at least in the academic classes."

"Looks like I read you guys spot on! I bet your thinking it'd be nice to be a fighter, but you also realize that you'd be better suited for a command or control position."

"Actually, my ability is kinetic barriers. So I'm training for combat."

"I'll be in command when we graduate." The violent one pointed to himself with his thumb.

Wait, this guy, no way. He thought as he burst out laughing. "HAHAHA I guess I'll just have to hope we end up in different units than."

"Why YOU!"

"I am sorry for not facing you earlier." Mark said interrupting his friend seeming more calm and confident

"I hate to break it too you, but if you can't face someone with your friends much less alone, than you don't belong on the frontlines."

"YOU IMPURE." The man got up and walked across the large hot tub and was shocked into passing out before reaching Kyoto.

"You know… you really shouldn't try to ruin my fun."

"Naru what did you do!" Logan jumped up and ran over taking him out of the water.

"Don't worry he's fine. I just knocked him out."

"I need to get him to the infirmary." Logan said before picking him up with a fireman's carry and leaving abruptly.

The one that originally approached him had stood up instinctively. "But how, his ability is invulnerability."

Kyoto stared at the kid for a while and busted out laughing. "Wait really? Are you serious?." He laughed some more.

"How'd you do that I don't get it, can you really cancel other peoples abilities?" He asked calmly.

"You're not mad at me? Or maybe your just afraid." he said surprised slightly.

"Well… If I'm being honest I expected that a lot sooner, but not like that"

"I'll take that as a compliment. Ok I'll explain, No I can't cancel anyone's abilities. It's like this right, Invincible is an understatement. It's more like his cells are super strong and durable, so essentially nothing can cut or bruise him. However if you say, short circuit him with an electric pulse, he becomes useless. You see electricity will always travel through the path of least resistance, but I can control it to make it go where I want it to, in other words through your friends cells. I couldn't fry them completely if I tried but it's easy to overload or redirect electrical signals from the brain and spine."

"That's amazing." He sat back down in the hot water.

"What's your name anyway kid?" He asked.

"Oh I'm Kenneth, my power is atomic manipulation."

"Hey that's one of the better ones I've heard of. Like I said earlier though, you need new friends… well, I guess the professor has some potential."

"The truth is, we've all just kind of been together our whole lives you know."

Kyoto looked off in the distance at a large painting that depicted many children in rags looking into a sunrise. I get it now, there just like I was.

He got up and started walking towards the exit getting to the door before turning around with a serious look in his eye "I'm sorry kid, but family or not, you three are going to die if you fight one of those monsters out there."

He walked out and sat down on the other side of the wall.

"Mark…"

"He's right you know." Mark said. "If we keep going at the pace we are… We will either die on our first mission, or never have a first mission. I've been thinking about it for some time now."

"But… what does that mean?" Kenneth asked raising his voice.

"It means if we want to survive… That we have to dissolve the manipulators."

"And then what!"

Marks voice got quiet.

"Then we look for other teams we can join, there are plenty missing at least one member."

"I see… You really have been thinking about this. Mark, if this is really what it takes, then I'll do as you say, you've never let me down before."

Kyoto stood up and paused. "Good, so then they took my advice. Those kids might actually go pretty far, but they were never going to do that if they leaned on each other for everything. It was too obvious that Mark made all the decisions Kenneth kept them together and did all the talking and that hot head did all the fighting, they need to get more well-rounded before they can begin to rely on others that much. Besides that their abilities didn't complement each other at all. He sighed and walked away after putting cloths on over the suit.

Just short of the classroom Kenneth caught up to him.

"Naru!" he yelled.

"Oh, it's you again. Look, I'm sorry for what I…" he started before being interrupted.

"No please don't apologies, you were right."

"I wasn't apologizing, I was using it in the form of I'm sorry for you. You know if you would have let me finish you might have gotten it."

He stood there out of breath. "Oh, well then in that case I apologies."

"Whatever, what do you want kid."

"I want to be on your team, please Mr. Naru."

"Hm… Well you had the guts to talk to me, to dissolve your group, and now to ask. Admittedly none of those things should be praise worthy, but in this place it's more than 98 percent of the people here could do."

"Does that mean…"

"Well, I would, but I don't have a team and you need at least three people, so you're out of luck."

"Well then can I ask you a question?"

"Sure I'm here early anyway."

"If you find someone else that your willing to except to a party, than can you let me know."

"Only if you fit." He said without hesitation or a second thought

"What do you mean?"

"Peoples abilities have to be compatible, for example my electricity would be good with someone that could control metal or magnets because I could enhance the magnets power. But abilities like your friends have don't work well together. There's really not much point of shielding someone that's already not going to take any damage."

"Yea, I guess it really wouldn't have worked out for us."

"Well it doesn't mean you were completely incompatible, Mark could stop electrical attacks from frying the other guy's brain for a while."

"I see, so then what would complement my own abilities."

"Your ability is pretty unique… There's really only one that I could think of off the top of my head and that's temperature control."

"What do you mean?"

"Well you can manipulate atoms… So then you can accelerate them slow them down and move them right."

"Yea, I just can't change their state of mater."

"Exactly, so you could cover a field in a liquid and someone else could freeze it solid. Likewise you could move a high concentration of flammable gas and someone could spark it. Anyone with abilities like that would be perfect for you."

The bell rang and students began entering the class. "You should get to class before they give you detention or something."

"They don't give you detention here." He said walking away.

Wait, what's supposed to happen if you're late for class.

"Hey Kyoto." Yonna Said taping him on the back.

He spun and stopped his hand right next to her ear causing a wind to blow her hair. "Oh it's just you."

She completely blew it off as if nothing happened.

"You know, you're kind of edgy." She said smiling leaning forward. "Come on were going to be late for class."

That would have knocked her out and she's just acting like it was nothing.

They walked into class and he took his usual seat but this time she sat next to him.

"Oh that reminds me, do you know what's supposed to happen when were late for class?" He asked without having the faintest clue.

"Me? Well I always just thought you got detention or something, I've never been late for class."

Wow not even once, He thought to himself. Wait is she some kind of honors student?

"Yea and the teachers are all too scared of me to report anything."

She tried not to laugh. "What did you do to get them so scared?"

"That's… personal." He said shrugging off the question."

"OH OH OH the new teachers here!" she said quietly trying to contain her excitement.

Yep definatly some kind of honors student. He said to himself before she turned her head and he noticed some of her hair had been pulled out as she pushed it behind her ear.
