Cold-blooded killing

Inside the large walls which created a huge square when looked down from up above, one would manage to see quite a lot of buildings inside the square.

In fact, the number of buildings would be so many that no one would even bother wasting their time to count how many there were.

Still, regardless of who it was they would still be able to find a pattern when looking downwards. And that pattern would be that the smaller buildings were concentrated towards the outer edges while the bigger ones were at the core of the square with the biggest one at the front and foremost opposite to the gates.

So, Felix couldn't help it as he calmed down a little and felt at ease while he made his way towards the small courtyard which most likely belonged to a minor member of the Asta Family, or even possibly some servant.

At the same time, he didn't turn careless either and made sure to keep up an appropriate amount of guard so that he wouldn't end up in a disadvantageous situation.

Sneaking close to the courtyard, Felix easily jumped over the wall around it by using just his physical strength. Making sure to land softly, Felix who didn't make any noise tiptoed his way inside the courtyard while spreading his Astral Sense.

Unlike when in the 1st and 2nd Tier of Astral Cultivation where all the cultivator could use was the Astral Force inside him, starting from Tier 3 onwards all living beings would obtain some unique powers.

And for Tier 3, the ability obtained was known as Astral Sense.

An ability which allowed the cultivator to sense the changes happening around them after covering the area within their Astral Force.

But of course, this was something that should only be done when sensing individuals who are weaker than them in cultivation. If they turn out to be stronger though, they'll immediately detect that someone was using their Astral Sense to look at them.

With his eyes closed since he needed to focus a little from not being an expert at using Astral Sense because it hadn't even been an entire day since he became a Tier 3 Cultivator, Felix soon showed a smile on his face.

Three humans, one Tier 2, and two Tier 1.

Making an educated guess, Felix labelled this courtyard as something which belonged to servants of the Asta Family.

Now that he knew who was within the four walls of this courtyard and where each of them was at, Felix who was confident in himself quickly made his way towards the room inside which was a pair of husband and wife.

What surprised Felix a little though was that the Tier 2 Cultivator wasn't the husband, and it was instead his wife.

Still, the surprise was only a little and didn't change Felix's decision.

Summoning the plain-looking Sword of Kronos which no one could tell was a Tier 9 Rune, Felix walked forward and in a single slash severed the sleeping man's throat and threw him into an eternal slumber.

Similarly, he did the same and killed his wife as well who hadn't woken up even when her husband had been killed.

Looking at the two corpses who didn't show any sign on their face that proved they were killed, Felix only felt a little guilty, but that wasn't for too long either.

After all, even if he spared the servants, and outer members and only killed the main members of the Asta Family, there was no guarantee that they would appreciate what he did. Instead, Felix was sure that the survivors would reveal everything they saw regarding him and in the end somehow or the other contribute towards getting him caught.

So, Felix who had already steeled his heart walked towards the sole living being inside the courtyard and without any hesitation killed the young boy who wasn't even as old as him.

The first step when doing something which was never done was always the hardest one.

And it was the same for Felix who never did this kind of sneaking in the dark and killing people in their sleep.

So, after he killed the first family, Felix's speed in killing the other servants who lived in the courtyards that were close to the first one he began his killing from increased significantly.

Taking as little as five minutes to jump over the wall, sense the number of humans living inside the particular courtyard and then killing them, Felix by now felt that his heart had turned completely cold and immune to killing anyone regardless of what their age was. And at the same time, he managed to impress Anastasi by showing a determination which she didn't think was possible for someone like him who was obviously doing this for the first time ever.

After all, when she first figured out what his plan was and how he wanted to kill everyone, while she applauded him for his decisiveness on the inside, she was almost sure that he'd stop midway due to the guilt and decide to only kill the main members of the Asta Family.

Therefore, seeing that he stuck to his original decision and remained cold-blooded to the end, Anastasi other than feeling relieved that she wouldn't need to do Felix's dirty work in secret, was now even more sure that he was a talent she was going to support at all costs.

This was because the current Felix wasn't just someone who had a great talent in cultivation but also a mindset which was needed for those with talent to become a real elite.

Like this, while Anastasi was watching him, Felix after spending two hours killing every single servant of the Asta Family and started approaching the mid-sized courtyards where the outer members of the Asta Family lived inside of.
